The Incredibles Director Brad Bird's Next is Live Action

This news originally was posted by SlashFilm a couple weeks back, but it's just now circulating its way around and I thought it was worth mentioning. Brad Bird, who wrote and directed Pixar's Oscar-winning The Incredibles, has stated that his next film will not be another animated Pixar, but in fact a live action film called 1906. Warner Brothers owns the rights to the film adaptation of the novel 1906 by James Dalessandro, which is a fictionalized account of the famous 1906 earthquake in San Francisco.
The original mention of a live action film came from an interview on ABC, but the rumor about 1906 is all from SlashFilm's inside sources. Bird is currently finishing up work on Ratatouille, Pixar's upcoming summer film written and directed by Bird, due out on June 29th. As what Peter at SlashFilm said, I'm excited to see if he's going to put as much passion and energy into this, and just what he can turn out in terms of CGI with such a large amount of previous animation experience.
