Confirmed: Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk Crossover Scene!
by Alex Billington
April 19, 2008
It's been rumored (and supposedly confirmed) for months now - Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk will each have crossover scenes, as in, each character will show up in each other's movies (somehow). Now today live from the New York Comic Con we have confirmation. After an impressive presentation for The Incredible Hulk, director Louis Leterrier and star Tim Roth presented the final trailer that will debut online in the next few weeks. And as a special treat, at the very end, we got to see the scene where Tony Stark shows up in a bar and talks with General Ross.
If you want to stay surprised, stop reading, but there's been so much buzz about this, that they just decided to show it to everyone early and confirm it. But I bet you there is a lot more to this scene than we know… Can anyone say Hulkbuster Iron Man (at least maybe sometime in the future)?
The scene shows a completely drunk General 'Thunderbolt' Ross (William Hurt) sitting in a bar when Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) walks in. He says "I hear you've got an unusual problem." "You should talk," Ross slurs. Stark replies, "you should listen." That was all we got to see, but there could be more because it cut rather quickly at the end.
This most likely will not show up in the full trailer, but you will eventually see it in the movie. The full trailer itself was pretty impressive. I've got a good feeling now that this could be that hidden gem this summer that pops up in June and surprises all of us. I think Louis Leterrier was the perfect guy to direct it and Edward Norton the perfect guy to star in it. It's going to be the Hulk we always wanted but never got until now! The new image at the top comes from the latest issue of Empire - check it out!
We were also shown one of the first fight scenes before Emil Blonsky was fully Abomination. The military gases Bruce Banner in a building and forces him to become Hulk, in which he then goes chasing after them and eventually fights a fairly skilled and acrobatic Emil. It honestly looked great and I've got high hopes now. And to see the Marvel universe completely coming together really gets me excited. Marvel has really got their shit together!
I was at the showing as well, and yeah it was amazing. I'm really digging the feel of the movie, and the Hulk looks a lot better in action than in that teaser and the poster. I'm really psyched for this film.

I am pretty sure that scene will take place after the events in Iron Man by the way Ross says "You should talk."

wasnt there also word that Wolverine makes an appearance in the hulk, and it is hugh jackman? i thought i heard this somewhere.
Taurinh24 on Apr 19, 2008
Taurin24 -- That was false. Unfortunately, however cool it sounded, the site was playing an April Fool's prank.
Michael on Apr 19, 2008
Well, at least the Hulk didn't appear in Iron Man.
Vitor on Apr 20, 2008
ah, well i am disappointed. hulk and wolverine have had some cool encounters. on the other hand, one cross over i dont want to see, Fantastic 4 and hulk...*shudder*
Taurinh24 on Apr 20, 2008
WOW! Advertising each others movie in each others movie!
Ryan on Apr 20, 2008

Great crossover concept! Finally, someone chose to do it on the big screen. I said it once and I'll say it again: "The Incredible Hulk", will be the sleeper hit of the summer! By the way, are those Levi's jeans the hulk is wearing? Looking forward to "Iron Man", less than 2 weeks away!
Spider on Apr 20, 2008
Sounds like a great Idea if used correctly..............
SHANE D on Apr 20, 2008
I don't know why, but this film just isn't doing it for me. Crossover or not, I'm just not convinced we'll necessarily get a really great film. But hey, with Ed Norton penning the script, how bad could it be? I guess we'll just have to find out... 😀
Manfred Powell on Apr 20, 2008
What is your definition of a great hulk movie? My is awesome action scenes with some decent acting which this movie will 100% deliver.
Jojo on Apr 20, 2008
I really hope this new movie be better than the other....we need a great film.
Jungle Boy on Apr 20, 2008
I expected this. Robert Downey Jr. has been listed on the IMDB page for the film for a while.

I wonder why Empire used this photo with the crossover announcement. Maybe I'm the only one who didn't already know it, but the photo is part of a scene shown in the new Hulk trailer where Emil Blonski mouths off to ole'-jolly-green, and gets kicked across the park. Am I just slow, or did Empire make the wrong connection?

there were plenty of cross-over's in Iron Man... mostly centered around S.H.I.E.L.D., which i am told is a group that consists of several hero's including both Iron Man and the Hulk. so not only is there that cross over, along with a Captain America shield in the background while Tony Stark is building the iron man suit, but there are also hints at an Iron Man sequal containing some other well know heros.
Ken K. on May 21, 2008
there is not going to be any appearance of iron man per say but there is a scene where Tony Stark talks with General Thaddeus Ross in a bar. I've yet to find said trailer but apparently there is one floating around somewhere Just to clearify.. The "group" you speak so lightly of Ken is called the Avengers they are building up for a movie which most comic book goons are PSYCHED for. 🙂

The crossover scene Iron Man Incredible can be seen in the last Incredible Hulk tv spot at: http://incredible-hulk-trailer.blogspot.com/2008/05/incredible-hulk-iron-man-crossover.html exactly like you described it!
Incredible Hulk Iron Man Crossover on Jun 8, 2008
I watched the early screening of the incredible hulk. I'm confirming that Tony Starks (Robert Downey Jr) did appear at the very end of the movie mentioning that he is creating a team to hunt what the general is hunting for. Possibly setting up the Avengers

Crossover worked very well for comic books. I don't see how it would hurt comic book-based movies. I'm disappointed that there was no trace of Captain America as rumors had it before the film's release.
PlanetComicBookRadio on Jun 18, 2008
After the credits on Iron Man Stark has a convo with Samual L. Jackson in an eye patch. I have no idea if this has anything to do with a crossover.
John on Jun 20, 2008
The convo between Downey and Jackson is a hint that Nick Fury (Jackson), leader of SHIELD, is recruiting Iron Man to establish a new super hero group for Earth's security. Many fans point to the formation of the Avengers, a group consisting of Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, and a few others. They have a working relationship with SHIELD in the comic books. Because Downy showed up at the very end of the Incredible Hulk, we, the fans, are looking forward to a showdown between the Hulk and Iron Man. I'm hoping to see Iron Man in his famous Hulkbuster Armor.
PlanetComicBookRadio on Jun 20, 2008
have just seen the HULK, and it was awesome, the number of references to shield in the opening scenes were cool, (don't blink or u'll miss them). the scene at the end was worth the entrance fee alone, where they are going with this....the posabilites are endlesss.
mike on Jun 21, 2008
put all marvel heroes and villain in one big film. it might be good. make it like a trilogy or something. 😉
kalpz on Jul 8, 2008
i think mixing the heros together was a bad idea, now there going to have to make a trilogy thing within two diffent movies. i say the heck with marvel
zack j on Jul 12, 2008
this is the best thing i think the dirctor did to mix super hero togher
dayquann on Aug 3, 2008

i wants to see Marvel - DC crossover. lets Batman and Ironman fight! so will Hulk and Superman. i wans to see also Marvel - Image crossover: Spawn vs Nightcrawler.
hukares on Oct 19, 2008
When I was a kid I used to read all the comic books and the DC comics had the "Justice League" and Marvel comics had "S.H.I.E.L.D" with the Hulk, Iron Man and Capt. America and others. That was the impression that I took from the movie when Tony Stark said that they were getting a new organization together or something like that. I hope it's so, it sure would share the bad guy workload, ha ha! Let's keep our fingers crossed. I'm a grandfather now but still get a kick out of seeing all these comic book heroes come to life on the screen, and I know something about heroes!!! Please visit my above web site and you can see what I mean. Brother Nick.

So i just saw the clip with captain american in the alternative opening to the incredible hulk and may i say its very disappointing i was at least hoping to see steve rogers hand come out of the ice or his eyes open to show he is awake instead you see a 1 second clip of a dark figure in the ice and i had to pause it like 10 times just to see if it was really captain american but instead you get this blurred image of him still excited about the avengers movie but very disappointing marvel and the director of the incredible hulk
