We've all seen the new Star Trek trailer plenty of times, right? And there's nothing more that we haven't already seen in it, right? Well guess again. Ain't It Cool News has debuted an extra special internet-only version of the trailer with one scene added to the end. We thought there was something missing! You might have heard about a special guest who is going to appear in the movie. This might have something to do with him, if know what I'm talking about. The new scene comes up near the end, so just keep watching, you'll know it. And I'm not going to tell you what it is - you just have to watch it for yourself and find out!

Star Trek is directed by J.J. Abrams (of "Lost" and Mission: Impossible III) and is written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (of The Island, Mission: Impossible III, Transformers, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen). This is the 11th movie in the Star Trek universe, following most recently Star Trek: Nemesis in 2002. Star Trek is set to land in theaters everywhere on May 8th, 2009 next summer!

HOLY SHIT!!!!!! This is going to restart the Trek all over again. Abrams seems like he is getting better and better, I really hope this lives up to what we see here.

It looks awesome, a TV spot was just released also for it. I think it will be a sure thing for the studios.

Why didn't Star Trek start off as cool as this? If they can make a tv series as good, then we're talking. -mochonko

It's always nice to see Leonard Nemoy as Spock again 🙂

#1- It was announced a long time ago. #4- There was a miscommunication between the people who work for William Shatner and JJ Abrams. Shatner would've liked to cameo but Abrams was told that Shatner was not interested. Shatner is still a fan and in his own words he "can't wait to see the movie."

I'm not much of a Trek fan, but that easily doubled the coolness of the trailer.

the trailer looks amazing and is getting me pumped for the film, even though im not a huge trek fan. however, as awsome as it was to see nemoy, i kind of wish he wasnt in the trailer and didnt make a cameo. i understand how it is out of respect for the old series, but i think that for "rebuilding the series" it doesnt help, and with how awsome the footage looks, it doesnt seem to be needed. either way though, the trailer is awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wait... so at 1:08 it's Quinto's Spock, and not Nimoy's?

That isn't Spock at all Luis M. Its Spocks father Sarek played by Ben Cross.

Simply awesome. It really would be nice if this movie was still coming out on Christmas Day. Instead, The Spirit and Valkyrie; both of which look underwhelming.

---------- I don`t know but I have a feeling that Shatner will have his camio in this movie althought he is not mentioned in the credits etc. But think a little bit, the guy is an icon! It is almost unbelievable that he won`t be in this project (especially if Nimoy is). Abbrams is a master of suspence, in my opinion it is only a marketing trick to gasp everybody in amazement at the premiere in cinemas!!!!!!! But of course I can be wrong;) But if I were a producer I would do so! What you guys think??? ----------

I'm glad that Shatner's not in it. The guy's so full of himself, just read any of the stories from any of the original cast of Star Trek. Nimoy sure looks quite old in that trailer, cool that he's it in though.. Just his voice has a great sound to it.
John on Nov 26, 2008

That was awesome...that easily too the trailer to a whole new level!!!!

Nemoy.... DAMN YOU OLD MAN... hahaha Nice find... glad to see they exposed this scene... cause that DOES NOT GIVE AWAY ANYTHING... GRRRRRR... damn trailers... I am cutting off and further trailers to be viewed by me for this movie. Wait, you know I will still watch them if you post them Alex.. so quit it.... Having all these trailers that are BAD for me to watch is like dropping David Duchovny off at a damned Strip Joint... YOU CAN'T HELP YOURSELF.

At long bloody ass - A star trek film that looks exciting - I'm star wars fan so to see trek trailer like this is an event in itself because star trek usually looks under budget, crap and boring if the motion picture is anything to go by - the voyage home? dolphins?

I am by no means a Trekie, but this movie really interests me and I truly cannot wait to see it. Looks great.

Wow, simply amazing. Nimoy's presence definitely overshadows any of the continuity issues the hard core trekkers have brought up, especially considering the fact that production would have been halted for script revisions if he had had any problems with it. I'm a lifelong fan of the franchise and think Abrams take on it will bring it back to what it was meant to be. The cast looks great, the story looks great... although I really hope they bring back the constant bickering between Bones and Spock, while Kirk sits back and watches. That was such an integral aspect of the relationship between the three and I don't see how they could leave that out. I am especially excited to see Karl Urban's portrayal of McCoy, and the fact that he's also a lifelong trekkie is promising. Can't wait!

Never have I been more interested to see a Star Trek movie! I kind of hate Star Trek too! Funny ain't it! Only because it was forced upon me though! Dad and his star trek! Well anyways looks like some good shizzle! Put that whole new cast in a new Star Trek I think I would watch it then!

I love the trailer. I just hope the movie doesn't end up following previous Star Trek movies and being, "Days of Our Lives In Space."

The majority of people who have blogged here must be teenagers. First off, it was announced long ago that Spock would travel back in time to talk to his younger version, to set him straight so to say. This movie might as well have a new ship, crew members with a new name and no Spock, JJ Abrams has totally ruined the franchise, now we have a Mission Impossible in space.

This looks absolutely incredible. I can't wait. The hell with canon. All I care about is a decent movie.

I heard this movie, though it puts a different spin on The Original Series, respects Star Trek continuity and canon. Someone said in a recent comment on my blog, Spock will flash forward to meet himself in a post-Star Trek Nemesis future. This is interesting because I'd assumed that Star Trek would just be a complete franchise reboot!

This is beautiful! My heart melted at the sight of Nimoy. I can't wait for this to come out! Here's hoping it's as great as it looks!

Here's hoping the keep to the spirit of Star Trek, which is not action, but more in the vein of political thriller...

I have to say that I first thought that the new Transformers trailer was the best thing I ever saw but after watching this one again, I am sure that this is the most anticipated movie this year for me. I even got my wife stoked about this movie, and she hates TOS.
