Final Awesome Poster for Quantum of Solace

Sony has unveiled the final poster for Quantum of Solace, as seen below. In my personal opinion, it's not as impressive as the early teaser posters before it or the posters from Casino Royale a few years ago. I know they've got to sell the film with both Daniel Craig and Olga Kurylenko, and it's impressive in that sense, but it's not an instant classic. I'm probably being way too harsh because I'm such a big James Bond fan, so instead I'll just sit back and enjoy it for what it is - another great poster for a highly anticipated movie. At this point in time, there is no other movie that I'm as excited to see this year than Quantum of Solace. Just under two months left until we kick off the winter movie season with a fantastic film!

Thanks goes to our friends at ComingSoon for debuting this great poster over there. After a second look, I'll admit that I'd like to have a big one of these up on my wall. I guess I'm just too big of a Bond fan and thought it wasn't that great to begin with, but warmed up to it. What do you think?

Quantum of Solace Poster

Quantum of Solace is directed by Marc Forster, of Monster's Ball, Finding Neverland, Stranger Than Fiction, and The Kite Runner previously. The screenplay was penned by both Robert Wade (Die Another Day, Johnny English, Casino Royale) and Paul Haggis (Crash, Million Dollar Baby, Flags of Our Fathers, Casino Royale). This is the 22nd Bond film in the series that first began back in 1962 with Dr. No. Sony Pictures will be releasing Quantum of Solace in theaters on November 14th this year.

Daniel Craig is the best Bond, mix between Bourne and Connery and I can't wait for this one! Also, new song isn't that bad, combined with imagery, it'll be cool enough. 'You don't have to worry about me!' ; )

they downsized his gun from the last two posters...still awesome though

nothing beats the shadow poster

twispious on Sep 25, 2008

it's about time they changed craig's gun. you couldn't recognize James Bond without his standard Walther PPK. it's just not right that he's carrying an assault rifle in the previous posters.

I'm glad his head doesn't look so terribly photoshopped this time around. Bring it!!!

Woah, even the "Bond girl" is more rugged and realistic! It's hard to believe how much they've changed the series, for the better, in a few short years. I liked Brosnan in general, but the Craig films are the best thing since sliced bread. Or at least since Sean Connery's 007 was slicing bread with a wristwatch laser. #3 is right though. That was a better poster.

I"m very excited about this. Craig is a great choice for this, especially as they develop Bond from his rough beginnings to the smooth, cultured, ice-cold agent he will be. I loved Casino Royale because of the characterizations of Bond, so rough around the edges still, and I'm glad they're revitalizing the series and moving in this direction. Along the same lines as how excited I am about the revitalizing of the Batman series and IT'S new direction. Plus he's way hawt. Me and my sisters are going to see this one together.

Look, the 007 gun is pointed at his package! Heh heh. Did they do that on purpose? If that were a few inches more to the right, it would have been even more funny.

said it before and ill say it again.....desperado poster

Boring poster, the teaser was 100% better, even if he didn't have the PPK

This is a boring poster, this might as well be a romantic comedy poster for crap's sake. Besides, I don't like this new bond girl, Olga, she' no presence. anyone with me?

Conrad on Sep 25, 2008

Boring and generic.

Ryan on Sep 25, 2008

Olga? No presence? Are you kidding or do you not like Hot chicks? Ryan, that is what you say about everything.

elfinmagic on Sep 25, 2008

It's an alright poster... but is it just me or does this look like a low quality scan? What's with that line running down Olga's right side?

Zamora on Sep 25, 2008

elfinmagic: Most people become accustomed to seeing the supermodels in these types of movies all the time, I for one am sick of this, and am sick of becoming more and more accustomed to seeing supermodels in films, because real women don't look like that. Zamora: Probably a dodgy scan or something. New poster does look a little boring though, not much happening in there!

#15 She looks pretty real to me, I guess it's just the best cgi I have ever seen.

1. Yes, a little boring 2. Weird perspective looks like Craig grows as we go up from his feet. 3. Don't like how feet are cut off. 4. Don't get the inclusion of burning building in background..Is this supposed to spark our interest in seeing this it doesn't...its just distracting from the characters. 5. Ummm...maby make the gun Craig is holding a little more prominent for gods sake!!!

rblitz7 on Sep 26, 2008

I think this poster would be better without the girl in it. I got the vibe of this film being about Bond's personal vendetta against the people who manipulated the woman he loved and were ultimately responsible for turning him into the driven SOB we all know and love. So just having Bond alone walking away from some of his destruction in the distance with that look on his face that tells you he's not even STARTED yet would be perfect. Tossing in the girl feels like a PR move...gotta make it "date" friendly I guess. For my money, like someone else said above, the shadow teaser poster gets it the most right.

Personally having a girl almost as prominent as Bond in the poster is a bad idea. The photoshopping is a nightmare. The land in the background is further away than bond and girl walking. Shadows are too sharp. colors are shite. daniels face needs some smoothing.
