Our friends at MTV have officially debuted the first poster for Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, an upcoming comedy starring Michael Cera and Kat Dennings. Most of you probably haven't even heard of this film yet, but give it time, because this is poised to be the MTV generation's big high school hit this fall. Cera and Dennings star as Nick and Norah, two high schoolers who randomly meet and spend an evening together. Nick asks Norah to be his girlfriend for five minutes in order to avoid his ex and then off they go in search of an elusive secret concert in New York City. Not only does it supposedly have an amazing soundtrack of great songs, but it's got a light romantic touch as the two make their way around Manhattan.
I'm not sure when we'll see the first trailer, but it is set to officially debut at the Toronto Film Festival in September before opening nationwide in early October. Thanks again to MTV for this new poster!
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist is directed by indie filmmaker Peter Sollett, of only Raising Victor Vargas previously, while the screenplay was written by newcomer Lorene Scafaria. The film is based on the novel of the same name written by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. Sony Pictures will be releasing Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist in theaters everywhere on Octoberd 3rd. Stay tuned for the first trailer!

Kail, God forbid people market a movie towards a group of people. This will not stand!! These "marketing" folk have gone too far.

Raising Victor Vargas was an excellent movie. This could be interesting as long as it's not OVERLY directed at a singular crowd.

This sounds and looks REALLY stupid. Another "indie" film for the Urban Outfitter's crowd. What a bunch of bullshit.

Oh...I thought this was another addition to Dashiell Hammett's "Thin Man" series. I was actually excited there for a moment. (And I agree with #5)

"Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist is directed by indie filmmaker Peter Sollett, of only Raising Victor Vargas previously," except, he directed Five Feet High and Rising as well. I mean come on you even linked to his imdb.com profile! Where is the journalistic oversight!

This poster sucks. Ha. It just looks super sloppy and it does not catch my attention at all. I am a huge Michael Cera fan (have been since Arrested Development S1) but I'm not sure I'm excited about this. Sounds kinda lame and sounds like a movie for mtv to use Michael Cera as that cute nerd that all the young mtv crowd has had a crush on since superbad.

<3 Kat Dennings. But yeah, I agree the whole "hand drawn" thing needs to go away. We get it, you're indie. Shut up. It drove me crazy on Juno, too. Everyone's trying to copy Nacho Libre or Napolean Dynamite?

I'm tired of the "Napolean Dynamite" writing on all of these posters. It would look more appealing with blurry, or Italic'd wording that had the same motion as the picture. Movie sounds cool though. Who would have thought the psycho teenage daughter from 40 Year Old Virgin would get so big? She's looking a little freakish on the thin side in this photo though. I hope this brings on a new era of cool high school flicks.
