Four New Colorful Speed Racer Posters Arrive
I'm in a Speed Racer high at the moment. The footage I saw at ShoWest just blew me away. Thankfully Warner Brothers has provided us with even more colorful Speed Racer goodies to hold us over until another trailer (if we get one more?) or at least until May 9th, when it hits both regular and IMAX theaters. Four new posters have arrived, including three character one-sheets and one kick ass regular poster. That last one may be my current favorite poster from 2008 - at least so far!
Thanks to Yahoo for originally debuting these in their Speed Racer gallery. Click each of the character posters below for full-size versions.
And one more full-size poster for all to enjoy.
I LOVE that last big poster - really well put together and great imagery. Already finding out how I can get my hands on one to put up on my wall in front of me to stare in awe at every single day. If you haven't already seen it yet - go watch the latest trailer. And if you have already seen it - go watch the latest trailer again! Only 51 more days to go until The Wachowski's Speed Racer hits theaters!

It took me a long time to get it too Brian... but at some point I realized just how genius this entire concept is. How can they mess this up, when doing so only makes a stronger movie? Let's say Racer X is played too wooden or Speed's part is over-acted... what do you have? Something as campy as the original series. You can't go over-the-top with this movie because there is no top. And you know, the CGI -- for once it makes perfect sense. How many times have you seen a [CGI sequence in a] movie where it quickly turns into "oh my gosh, what if there were 80,000 characters instead of 8 on screen?" "Dude why?" "Because we can!" That's how I think CGI sequences are typically used. And this movie is no different... but with Speed, who cares? Go ahead and have spiky road and upside down ramps, because it fits! This is all a great big campy cheeseball. I can't wait!

That last poster is terrible. The composited in cars/face are the wrong proportion, etc.. The top three are good, though.
