George Miller

At this point this news is no longer new, but it's worth mentioning again just to hammer it home. Dark Horizons has confirmed that George Miller is no longer attached to Justice League in any capacity. Miller appeared on a morning talk show in Australia and confirmed that he's no longer involved (which IESB first mentioned in August), adding that if it ever gets greenlit again, it'll be recast, because "the studios seem to want bigger stars in their superhero movies now." Really?! I never would've guessed! The only movies George Miller should be directing are sequels to Happy Feet or Mad Max - and that's it!

The funny thing is that Miller can't even get his own star, Mel Gibson, to agree to do another Mad Max! "Miller also admits that he'd like to work with Mel Gibson on something again and while Mel doesn't want to do the Mad Max script he wrote, he hasn't given up on that possibility just yet." I'm not sure what you thought, but Happy Feet wasn't actually that great of a movie, and it has become increasingly apparent that Miller is to blame. Over the last year, since he was announced as the director of Justice League, I've grown to dislike him and his idiotic casting choices - and I couldn't be happier that he's no longer involved!

thank god. i wasn't happy feet over this director doing Justice Leage. Honestly and i'll probably get heat over this. We need Michael Bay, or James Cameron to pull this off . and we definately need Brandon Routh and Christian Bale as Superman and Batman fir it to work. Also they need to bring in the Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and have the Villain be DarkSeid. Thats just my point of view. Rick

I just want to see this thing happen. Avengers will happen anyway, i'm sure Warner Bros will then come back and do it, because they see money on Marvel's efforts. And here's what, it's Justice League, it's supposed to be an "event" movie, it's not about origins or any shit like that, it should be about action, so they need an action director. I agree with #1 about someone like Michael Bay, though mentioning him and then James Cameron is puzzling as hell.

Your right Alex, Happy Feet wasn't that great of a movie

George Miller co-wrote and directed The Road Warrior. Which is more important than anything you will ever do in your life. Dig?

Come on people why does everyone hate Michael Bay???! The Island, Bad Boys 1 and 2, Transformers. These were fun movies! I don't get why he's so hated. But anyways, I'm sure the Avengers will probably be good (FINGERS CROSSED!) so JLA better step it the hell up!!!!

Hey! on Dec 2, 2008

Agreed...Happy Feet was lame so this news makes me happy. And Bay isn't that bad...he just has a formula which he follows on every movie and even though people can mock that he still sells tickets on every film he makes so he's gotta be doing something right.

Peloquin on Dec 2, 2008

You know, maybe it's just me, but when the people who are putting that "Happy Feet" down are the same people who are also defending Michael Bay, that's saying something.

Charry on Dec 2, 2008

I'm not defending Bay in the sense that I'd go comparing him to James Cameron, but the man is marketable and in Hollywood that's all that matters. His artistic vision may be lacking, but the man knows the business and technology. What's your criticism of Bay? Could you elaborate more to why Happy Feet was more enjoyable than a Bay film? [just trying to get a discussion going rather than the usual Michael Bay fanboy hate fest].

Peloquin on Dec 2, 2008

He's a terrible director, and writer (inasmuch as what he does could be called 'writing.'). His films look like two-hour long Coke commercials - he's, basically, a somewhat more capable Paul W.S. Anderson.

As far as Happy Feet goes, I can't comment on it myself, as I haven't seen it, but the fact that it was directed by George Miller is enough.

Onliner on Dec 2, 2008

Seems the 'not new news' wasn't even news...Miller is still with JL and the whole story was totally wrong.

#14 Ya, safe to say JLA is gonna get f*cked to bejeezuz and back... at least we have Avengers :/
