It's not much, but it's here, the first official teaser trailer for Pixar's Up. For audiences that have never been introduced to Pixar's next adventure, or the character that it's all about, it's a great little introduction. Unfortunately we still don't know know much about where it'll go next (once he lands where he's going), but I still can't wait to find out. The character of Carl Fredricksen is being voiced by Ed Asner and is inspired by Disney legends Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston. I'm so excited to finally be back in the swing of things with the next big Pixar movie, because I love everything they do and can never patiently wait for more.

Pixar's Up is directed Pete Docter, who also directed Monsters, Inc previously in addition to writing the stories for Toy Story and Toy Story 2. The film is co-directed and written by Bob Peterson, who wrote Finding Nemo previously. Disney is planning to debut up in theaters everywhere on May 29th, 2009 next summer. For more information on Up, head over to our first look at the characters and the story.

Anybody notice that "Boo" from Monster's Inc and Elastigirl (and the daughter) from the Incredibles made a cameo? Pretty cool.

So how does the boy scout end up on his porch in the air? He wasn't there when the house lifted off the ground...

Looks as good as it did at Comic-Con. I like it more now, the idea and direction of the film. Much more pensive than any of pixar's previous work.

"Hi Mr. Fredrickison, please let me in!" "No." I like it, hopefully another Wall-E

I don't know about the other two cameo's, but at 1:05 you can see the "Pixar ball" (which has appeared in everything since the original Luxor short) on the floor in the girl's room as the house floats up above the buildings. Otherwise, it looks like it could be quite good ... still lots of unknowns, which is a nice change in today's "tell you (almost) everything" idea of a teaser. Also, lots of time 'til May, so who knows what else they'll tease before then.

I liked Wall-e, but that is down there with cars...which sucked. Wall-e didnt really draw me in, but hey i am 17 lol. Hopefully this will be better

WALL-E was awesome, it set pixar's standard even higher (if that's possible). This movie looks good, it better be, because it has a ton of pressure riding on it having to follow Wall-E.

Haha, looks interesting.. Grouchy old man leaves town.. Boy Scout makes him realise people aren't so bad after all?

I don't see Boo. Neat idea for a movie, though.

One thing: If it was 2D, it would remind me a bit of a Miyazaki-type story. Potentially anyway.

i wonder if pixar will make a movie with photo realistic people and places. just to show how good their tech is.i do like their style though. awesome looking movie. Pixar seems to never run out of good ideas and story's.

(32) big r, I'm with you. I am a very big Pixar fan, and realize how much work and time go into making a Pixar film. It's amazing! (21) alex, grow up and learn to appreciate the art of film. Every Pixar film to date has been completely incredible. Yes, even Cars. Out of curiosity, what didn't you like about the movies?

Feels like the creators are going for a "Howl's Moving Castle" story-type, which is not surprising since Pixar often looks to Hayao Miyazaki for inspiration.

Oh yes! So excited! I've never been disappointing with any of Pixar's films and Up looks SO amazing! Even with so little seen and known about it! They have me sold. I am extremely disappointed though that Newt is being pushed back a year just so Cars 2 can come first. I'm sure I'll enjoy both, but just the idea of Newt sounds so great.

Lol, this kind of reminds me of Howl's moving castle... or at least I can see the influence. Should be interesting. Love the sequence with the kid outside of the door... his gestures are really great.

"UP" looks really cool - i'm 62 years old and i LOVE animation, maybe because it was so lame when i was a little kid!! my 30 year old son is even more anxious to see it than me, but my 18 year old grandson doesn't want to go because "it's for kids"

that was fricken hilarious!!!

Pixar definitely has strong influences from Miyazaki, considering that the team responsible for the lovingly prepared and reverent dubs of the Studio Ghibli films for domestic release is a combination of Disney and Pixar animators. Even though I've decided my career aspirations no longer lie with writing for Pixar, this looks like yet another film that may make me a bit wistful about my change of heart. Their films are all just so moving and well-written. It's an amazing studio, and I'm glad Disney came to its senses and is giving John Lasseter a much larger role in the company.

Pixar movies give me a boner. (I'm laughing out loud but I choose not to use the LOL typology like the rest of you ass munchers). This movie is yet another pile of shit that audiences gobble up because they can't believe how cool the animation is and how cool another burnt out celebrity offered their voice for a cartoon character. Maybe you guys should get a real "Woody" and go "Find a Nemo" to put in. You might just enjoy it more and come out of your dark place.

Jimmy stop being an idiot. I only know 1 voice from almost all the Pixar movies. I don't look up their voices. I just love the movies.
