Iron Man Clip

Normally we don't run clips like this, but I'm so excited for Iron Man I just said screw it - you guys NEED to see this. The scene is of Tony Stark's first test in the Mark II suit with Jarvis, his in-suit butler, present. I actually saw this scene in its entirety (where he eventually crashes down onto his Shelby GT) at WonderCon in February, but this is one of the best segments. Just watching this shows you how much work went into the suits of armor and how incredible the flight scenes will be. I'm tired of waiting - I just want to see this movie already! With that, I hope you enjoy this new clip!

Impromptu poll - how many of you are going to be seeing Iron Man on opening weekend?

If you liked this clip, have you seen the other flying clip that showed during Battlestar Galactica? If not, check it out on It's just as good as this one!

Iron Man is directed by Jon Favreau, of Zathura and Elf previously. The movie was written by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, Mark Fergus (Children of Men, First Snow), and Hawk Ostby (Children of Men, First Snow). Iron Man hits theaters everywhere this summer on May 2nd.

I'm excited, and will see this movie. But that qui9ck scene leads me to think that this is going to be pretty cliche. "Sometimes you gotta run before you can walk." Please. I feel like I've heard this interaction between some british sounding computer and a cocky hot shot a million times already.

this movie is going to be sooo good....

Rigo on Apr 8, 2008

I might be seeing it opening weekend... GTAIV is my priority, so we'll see. I'm sure I can squeeze four hours of my life away for the movie (2 hours for movie, 1 hour for driving, 1 hour for waiting, bs, etc).

Aaron on Apr 8, 2008

Yeah this is a great clip, the first clip that came out is also good. I do plan on seeing this at midnight on opening day, I have been waiting for this movie for awhile now.

Stephen on Apr 8, 2008

This is going to be the best movie of the year! Opening day at the theater will be too crowded. I will wait 1 to 2 weeks before seeing.

crabby on Apr 8, 2008

I agree, unfortunately, a LOT with comment number 1. The first bit of apprehension about this movie has creeped into my psyche. This is the first time Zathura has crept into my head...

I am EXTRAORDINARILY EXCITED about Iron Man, but I have to resist watching this clip. Don't get me wrong - I really WANT to. But I think I'm starting to reach and Iron Man saturation point and I simply don't want to watch anything that will put things in a particular context. I am normally not this way. Typically I gorge on ever piece of information available when it comes to the movies I'm most excited about. But then I go to the theater and end up feeling let down because I spoiled so much of it for myself. At this point, I have declare an Iron Man lockdown!

Tom Brazelton on Apr 8, 2008

Oh man... I am pretty sure this is going to be my movie this year.. asside form Cloverfield of course. I get more and more excited for it every time I see soemhting new.. I am pretty sure soon my head is going to explode.

looks good, i saw the clip during the battlestar galactica premiere and it was 10 times better though dodging rockets and completely outmaneuvering the air force this movies going to blow minds

harrison on Apr 8, 2008

Buzzz on Apr 8, 2008

akumared on Apr 8, 2008

I am concerned... this is the first clip that did not completely pump me up... hmmm and yes regardless... still going opening weekend

Dusty on Apr 8, 2008

What concerns you Dusty? Does this make it look like it will be cheesy or bad? Because I can tell you there is nothing in this clip that gets me worried...

Alex Billington on Apr 8, 2008

Interestingly enough, NONE of the iron man suits in the comics over the years ever looked as cool as this one. If my nephew ran before he walked, I think he'd probably have hurt his head & got drain bramage. I'm at my shell-head saturation point, too. The last trailer's sold me. Anything short of that is perhaps becoming unecessary. Can't wait to see his cameo in Incredible HULK, though.

DJO on Apr 8, 2008

I just wanted to agree with DJO on the armor design. I've been following the comics for years and Adi Granov designed something that both looks functional and realistic. Stan Winston and his crew pushed it even further. I don't think I've ever been happier with a visual translation of a comic book character to screen.

Tom Brazelton on Apr 8, 2008

And I'm hyped that I'm going to see this movie at the World Premiere at the opening of Pathé's new theater in Den Haag, Netherlands on april 16th!

Vitor on Apr 8, 2008

that was bad ass, got to check this film out

Darrin on Apr 8, 2008

ha ha Robert Downy looked so great in that. it was like he was having so much fun but was going to sh*t his pants lol cant wait

silver on Apr 8, 2008

As long as the action scenes don't look like trailer for another PS3 game... And the cheesy cliché dialogue is kept to an absolute minimum. I'll wait for the reviews. Then the DVD.

avoidz on Apr 8, 2008

hey this is doc from the itunes podcast: Heroes of Science Fiction and Fantasy, i was stuck behind small press #39 at Wondercon 2008 and did not get to see this clip. A Thankyou is in order. I think this is going to be a blockbuster. website
