Paul Blart: Mall Cop Trailer

Sony has unleashed the epic new trailer for Paul Blart: Mall Cop. This is a vast improvement over the viral video that we posted a few months ago, but it still looks painfully bad. This is one of the few films that I really think looks awful. Just think about that concept - a group of highly organized "crooks" take over a mall? When was the last time that ever happened?! Kevin James ironically looks quite funny, but this trailer does not. I'm sure I'll get a lot of crap for saying that, but it's just my impression. In case you couldn't already tell, Paul Blart: Mall Cop is about a security guard played by Kevin James. Enough said!

Paul Blart: Mall Cop is directed by Steve Carr, of Next Friday, Dr. Dolittle 2, Daddy Day Care, and Are We Done Yet? previously. The screenplay was co-written by actor Kevin James, Nick Bakay ("The King of Queens"), and Steve Pink (High Fidelity). Sony Pictures is releasing Paul Blart: Mall Cop early next year on January 19th, 2009. I know I'll be seeing Ninja Assassin in theaters instead.

Looks like one of those classic 90s "comedy" flicks. ugh. I thought we were over that period of time. All this movie needs is a 10 year old running around as a sidekick. Maybe in the sequel...ghaaa

it looked alright.

Darrin on Oct 2, 2008

yeah, I don't think so. The only way a Happy Madison movie is anywhere near good anymore is if it has Adam Sandler in it. This may be mildly entertaining though, who knows

-peter- on Oct 2, 2008

Only reason I'd see that movie is because I used to work at that mall.

Jay on Oct 2, 2008

Die Hard for fat guys.

Jack Donaghy on Oct 2, 2008

it looks fun, a spin on Die Hard that doesnt take anything seriously. I think people need to sit back and not take things like films too seriously. not every movie needs to be life affirming, mind blowing or thought provoking. Some funny moments in that trailer that yes require no thought but to vegitate and chuckle at times and isnt that great ? This looks the perfect sunday morning get over hangover by staying in bed and watching something to take it easy too. So come on enjoy things for no other reason than easy to watch and laugh too.

Fenris on Oct 2, 2008

this is a sequel to "home alone", right? the kid grows up to be a mall cop. if only joe pesci was in it...

drew on Oct 2, 2008

maybe on DVD!

Ray on Oct 2, 2008

I couldn't even finish the trailer.

Lefthanded on Oct 2, 2008

Hey,In The Trailer,Wasn't That Mike V. The Skater? I Liked It,But Its Gonna Be Hard To Get The Message Across Others....

A.SMith on Oct 2, 2008

Looks like a flick tailor made for but rejected by Larry the Cable guy! Yikes! Good to hear Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" though. I'll certainly be catching this flick on DVD!

Spider on Oct 2, 2008

wait wait, isnt Observe and report, the new movie with Seth Rogen, the same thing?

jeremy on Oct 2, 2008

Note: Most all the "bad guys" are actual extreme sports athletes...(skateboarding/bmx etc). Get ready for some gratuitous unneeded bike tricks and tail slides. There goes half the movie.

SmartGuy on Oct 2, 2008

He was fat enough to become a real cop. Mmmmm doughnuts.

Crapola on Oct 3, 2008

I like Kevin James, but Fat guy Slapstick is not his forte. This trailer definitely shows that.

L on Oct 3, 2008

@14 - probably from all those execs who think a kids movie can't exist without some sort of snowboarding scene in it (no matter what the setting - snow, jungle, desert, cityscape...).

Chris on Oct 3, 2008

Half of what will make this movie funny is the title. After that, all bets are off.

Tom Brazelton on Oct 3, 2008

it doesn't look like a good movie at all. but it looks ok to watch for some funny visual gags. and sometimes, that's ok. i'm on netflix, and it'll probably find my save list.

dan on Oct 3, 2008

I thought that looked preeeetty funny, funnier than the rest of the 'not good' funny films Kevin James looked funnier in this that his previous attempts so yeah good stuff

mikesta on Oct 3, 2008

It's not great, but it looks interesting for a slow, boring day.

Roy on Oct 3, 2008

I know I shouldn't laugh at this because it may be one of the worst movies of next year, but you can't tell me that you didn't laugh when the dog got run over by the segway.

CK on Oct 3, 2008

Paul Blart? Oh I get it, it rhymes with Target. No wait, that isn't it. Dangit. I had it all figured out when I started typing, but now I've lost the thought. I must have lost a brain cell or two watching the trailer.

kevjohn on Oct 3, 2008

Hmmm. Probably a 90 minute flick with 4 minutes of Laughs. I'll wait for this to be on Cable.

Scully on Oct 3, 2008

chris farley would totally make this movie

ken on Oct 3, 2008

mike vallely skated in that mall.he looks like the guy with the beard going down the elevator

Beerwolf on Oct 3, 2008

Mike Vallely is one of the sickest skaters ever. Ill wait for this movie to be on Cable tv; tbs 😛 #25 : Yea, if Chris Farley was alive, he would totally make this movie.

Nikhil Hariharan on Oct 4, 2008

Poor Kevin! Hey, whatever happened to that courtroom spoof he was making with his buddy Ray Barone???

Tony on Oct 4, 2008

- a group of highly organized "crooks" take over a mall? When was the last time that ever happened?! when was the last time a group of robots came to earth and duked it out? it's a movie for crying out loud. if you wanted reality take your ass outside and walk around.

that guy on Oct 4, 2008

no. just no.

nick s. on Oct 4, 2008

If all the good movies(like maybe My Bloody Valentine 3D) are sold out, I might take a look.

Daniel on Oct 4, 2008

Anybody who has seen the movie - Does Kevin Jame's character have any kind of FOOD obsession?

Me Too on Oct 5, 2008

bring back the Animal House days!

werdnafaz on Oct 6, 2008

Poor guy has had a run of bad luck since the ratings fell in on King Of Queens! James and Bakay are funny writers, though.

Tony on Oct 6, 2008

Is this Home Alone 4?

MBD on Oct 6, 2008

I think it's more like a Die Hard spoof set in a mall,MBD! Home Alone? Cut me a break!

Tony on Oct 8, 2008

Livin on a prayer. nice. ill wait 4 dvd just to see that hot girl wit d braids.

Cyfer1 on Oct 9, 2008

It's Doug Heffernan in a Security Guard uniform! LOL!

Tony on Oct 10, 2008

looks awful!

Jay Selis on Oct 12, 2008

Looks like a bad John Candy movie!

Tony on Oct 13, 2008

I almost kinda laughed for a second there. I wish Happy Madison would bring on a Grandmas Boy sequel. Even though I know most people would disagree with me and that it would never happen.

vu on Oct 14, 2008

Especially since Grndma's Boy tanked!

Tony on Oct 15, 2008

I know that #42

vu on Oct 17, 2008

Then why the fuck would you want a sequel dumbass????

Tony on Oct 17, 2008

Anyway,it's too bad Kevin James is relegated to stuff like Mall Cop. At least we can watch him in syndication. The King Of Queens had some classic moments. Doug fighting a waitress, trying to ride a stubborn mule, beating up on Arthur's safety partner,Carrie beating on Doug in a clown costume!!! Just to name a few.

Tony on Oct 17, 2008

Looks like a Holiday film. Too bad it's going to tank, though!

Tony on Oct 30, 2008

They shot this at my mall! Woot. Limited Too, Legal SeaFoods, and limited too fuck wherever they said it was Burlington Mall

Alex on Nov 16, 2008

I think Kevin James is hysterical and I LOVED King of Queens. I saw the preview in the theatre the other day and everyone was laughing and saying they couldn't wait to see it. Your comment "Just think about that concept - a group of highly organized "crooks" take over a mall? When was the last time that ever happened?" was in itself a little ridiculous. It isn't an action movie or a thriller - ITS A COMEDY...when did a family ever experience what Chevy Chase experienced in VACATION or when did 2 men ever go through the nightmares that Steve Martin and John Candy went through in TRAINS, PLANES and AUTOMOBILES????? IT IS SUPPOSED TO MAKE YOU LAUGH NOT GIVE YOU INGENIOUS IDEAS ON HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF IF THE MALL IS EVER TAKEN OVER BY TERRORISTS!

Paula on Dec 7, 2008

A group of highly organized "crooks" take over a mall? When was the last time that ever happened?! I was thinking the same thing until they said they were there to rob the bank. That actually kind of makes sense. A mall is a very large building, much larger then just about every bank. Which makes it a little bit easier to make the get away.

Mr. Web Based Training on Jan 12, 2009

This actually might just work!

murray on Jan 13, 2009

Im a Security Guard and Im going with all my SG friends in UNIFORM. This is the only job you are expecter to do stupid stuff......
