Must Watch? Anna Faris in House Bunny
If I'm not sneaking away to covertly watch some Fast and Furious car porn, then I might be doing so to peak some of Anna Faris' movies. Ever since seeing her in Scary Movie back in 2000, her wide-eyed, dumb blonde routine has been a secret indulgence of mine. She was a lovely addition to Waiting, but utterly hysterical as the Britney-esque pop star in Just Friends. Thankfully, her next project is the same ridiculous bubblegum slapstick I've grown to love, as she plays an ousted Playboy bunny that finds a new home amongst socially awkward sorority girls. House Bunny seems a well-blended version of Clueless and Legally Blonde. Check out the first trailer!
Joining Faris is actually a pretty interesting cast. Actress-wannabe Rumor Willis accompanies baritone Emma Stone (Superbad) and deadpan Kat Dennings (40 Year-Old Virgin). More notable, however, is Tom Hanks' son, Colin Hanks, who plays Faris' love interest. How'd that happen?
The film is certainly not going to explore new territory or leave you questioning the deeper topics of life. But it should serve as a pretty good laugh, plain and simple. How can you not chuckle at the manhole scene?
Watch the trailer for House Bunny:
House Bunny is directed by Fred Wolf, who also directed this year's Strange Wilderness and wrote the scripts for Dirty Work, Joe Dirt and Without a Paddle. 10 Things I Hate About You, Legally Blonde, and She's the Man writers Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith wrote the script for this. House Bunny currently arrives in theaters on August 22nd.

My favorite movie with Anna Farris in it is the underrated indie horror flick "May". So freakin' good.

"now we can be the best versions of ourselves?" by changing everything about who you are? yeah ... um ... rock on ... I love these movies that set girls back only half a few centuries. So great. More more. I do love Anna Farris. She has a natural knack for comedy ... I just really hate movies about changing yourself to get something you want etc etc ... Girls have enough problems. Manhole scene was very Anna ... I love how she played comedy with this level of seriousness. She doesnt try to be funny. It always worked in Scary Movie also for her. I look forward to her movies, I just hope this one has a better message that what the trailer obviously seems to look like.

HAHA! This looks very funny. Anna Faris' certainly has a knack for this stuff and if it wasn't for her this would probably be crap. She can really elevate anything. Definitley looking forward to this one.

It looks like they took the script for Legally Blonde, changed the protagonist's profession, then re-shot it.

Um, yeah. Turn smart girls into slutty dressers and this will get them the guys they want? Lord. The least they could have done was keep their 'style' toned down, but classier. Just small changes to make them look more feminine. That would be realistic. I mean, my mom taught me nothing about how to dress or how to put on make up. Might have been helpful to have some 'professional' help at a young age. But bimbo outfits and spike heels? Lovely. My other problem is trying to make a 'dumb' girl into a smart girl and have her catch some really nice, intelligent guy. So pretend you're someone else and that will bring you love/a boyfriend? I'd rather have more teen films like Clueless. Where there was actual growth in the teen girl character that was believable.

Anna Faris is hot that is one of the reasons ill watch this but looks like it has a couple of good laughs in it, ill wait for it to come out on DVD though, to much money is going to go into movies this summer that i would rather see.

@Movie Lover, its just a movie and i dont think they were going for realistic with this one, if you want realistic watch the news or the history channel! These movie are made to just be fun and nothing more i dont think they wrote it to be a realistic look at a playboy bunny who trys to help nerd girls become more feminine. Its just for laughs. People need to look at movies like this, as just a movie and nothing more and stop over analyzing them. And what person does'nt try to put their best footforword when meeting someone.

"Smiley Face" was crazy funny. This one looks f-in dumb, but with Anna Faris it'll just be dumb + massively enjoyable.

Aha, I cannot wait for this! It looks cute and funny -- a very lighthearted film. I for one am wicked excited about getting together a group of friends and going to see it. Chick flick? Yes. Could it stand a little more depth? Sure. But this is just one of those fun movies, not to be taken so seriously. Light up; live a little! <3 (Although I have to ask...who's the cute girl with the short hair and piercings? I don't recognize her after the makeover! 'You hired the exorcist? That's great!" Hee, love it.)
