i liked the underworld movies. have always followed them and the lore. this, yeah, doesnt look as good as the other 2, but it still looks entertaining. Ill see it, but what saddens me, is it looks like they were trying to go for a female lead who looks like kate beckinsale but isn't. i know she couldnt be in this one becuase its in the past. but oh well.

reason is simple. This is a prequel that deals with Viktor's daughter being in love with Lucian. Kate's character has nothing to do in this movie. She was just a kid in this timeline.

I guess i am the only one who knows why Kate isn't in this movie. She isn't because that is Sanya. A different Character. Not the same character in the other two. This is what we call, a PREQUEL! Jesus on a crucifix you people are dumb. She is not supposed to be in it because she wasn't born.

The first two were pretty good. But this one just seems like a tired old tale. We already know what originally happened with the vampires and lycans (those of us who are familiar with the storyline). I miss the guns too, don't really care for swordplay and creatures with this tale. Looks like a wash!

First the trailer music - its from a song dumbass, its not a original max payne song. "If I was your Vampire" performed by Marilyn Manson from album "Eat me, Drink me". So please quit talking shit about a 3 month turn around being "classy" (/end sarcasm). Good grief so they used a older song more then once on a trailer..got Requiem for a Dream anyone? Second, how in the fuck does this look anything like Alien vs Predator? I would love to know the awnser to the one, other then they both end up being shit.

I'll be checking this out for sure. Dunno why but I have a soft spot for Underworld. And a prequel will definitely make it interesting. For those people that complain about that they know what's gonna happen... Do you watch biopics?? You know most of what's gonna happen but it's fun to see how they get there.

hey that chick was kick ass in doomsday, did anyone see that movie? not that great a movie but still kicked some ass. the first underworld was really the only one that had it where it counted and Im sad to say they have only gone down hill since, I loved the first one it was unique, but the second was just a but too bloody and the story was just lacking. they also added too much cgi in it, with the whole flashback scene, I liked the idea of keeping all of it as guys in big suits it was just really cool that way. this looks as though it will be entertaining at best but nothing to sink my teeth into. and thank you number 26 yeah has anyone heard that song from requiem (I know thats not what it was originally from) and amen on alien vs predator comment.

Hell yeah been waiting a LONG time for this, no I haven't watched the trailer yet because I'm at work and I told my wife I'd download it in HD and we can watch it on the 46" plasma at home that's how Underworld we are. I know Underworld is a pseudo matrix with vampires ripoff but I love it, its got action, hot chicks, vampires werewolves and a pretty damn cool back story which is why I've been waiting for this one. We all have our little favorites so I don't know why you guys are talking shit about it. Especially you Alex especially after reading about and sometimes actually watching some of these movies you recommend that either put me to sleep or just plain try to be smarter then everyone when really they just suck.

I guess no one actually paid attention to the original underworld movie. Viktor had a daughter that looked just like Kate Beckinsale (Selena) in the original that is why he let her "live" when he killed her family.

Thank you Richard # 40! I have great affection for the first 2. Obvious Kate influence, but Idk, these have grown on me and I have been looking foward to this one for a while. Rhona will do well as the elder's daughter, but remember Alex....not ALL the Vampires are Death Dealers, just the protectors. Rhona Mirta, ancient armor and Lycans....what else do you want?! Lucian is a great character. Can't wait!

I liked the first one. Thought the second was just ok (hated that stupid filler sex scene where both Speedman and Beckinsale look really uncomfortable). But I'll watch this, because Mitra kicking ass with a sword looks really good. Not to mention Jan doesn't have a lot of other flicks I want to see anyways and I like a good popcorn flick sometimes.

I love the first two films. Typically not a big fan of movies like this, but I've enjoyed how surprisingly indepth the first two story lines have been and I'd be surprised if this film didn't follow suit. Bit disappointed this movie doesn't have Beckinsale in it. I understand why she's not, but it's still like going to a holiday with a new girlfriend for the first time.

The last one ended pretty conclusively. This prequel will conclude nothing. We know what happens. It seems like it will be one continuous gore fest. They could have done without the overused Doom demon sound. On the other hand...Rhona Mitra. She has been a pretty good actress but terrible at choosing her roles.

This is just my opinion, but I think that the Underworld series is some of the worst rubbish I've ever seen. The movies litteraly scream "direct to DVD". I'm certainly avoiding this one since the second movie was ten times worse than the first. And could somebody please tell them they should start using colors other than blue and... blue, my eyes, they hurt!

I CAN'T WAIT for 2009 to roll in! This year (2008) has been depressingly boring. This movie is definitely the PICK ME UP I've been aching for. I have personally read the UNDERWORLD PREQUEL book and was pleasantly surprised how much of a good read it was. The movie visuals of UNDERWORLD RISE OF THE LYCANS look topknotch. First time looking at this (just gettng myself caught up). I really, really loved Lucien. I got so geeked when I heard the third would be lycan-centered since I so totally sided with them. This trailer stirs up that excitement all over again. Definately an opening weekend movie for me.

Lucian is the leader of the lycans or he will be. they fall in love and shabamb conflict with the two Species. God people do you even remember the first two. Rhona is not Kate's replacement.... Different character. I am glad they are making it.
