Must Watch: One Final Hellboy II: The Golden Army Trailer!
Universal has released one final fantastic trailer for Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy II: The Golden Army. I'm currently on my way to Los Angeles right now to see Hellboy II on Sunday and I'm incredibly excited - this could be one of the best films of the entire year. If you're not familiar with the first film, this trailer gives us a great reminder of how it all began and then moves swiftly into what we can expect the second time around. It definitely looks like Guillermo has beefed it up and truly pushed it to the next level. The summer seems to keep getting better and better as time goes on and I think Hellboy II is not going to be an exception to that rule. Give this last great trailer a shot and let us know what you think!
There are so many reasons to go see Hellboy II on its opening weekend: supporting a great non-mainstream comic book character; supporting Guillermo del Toro's continued success as a unique filmmaker; getting a taste of what del Toro's The Hobbit might be like; soaking in some last minute awesome superhero action before seeing The Dark Knight the week after. This trailer itself should be the last little bit to convince you that it's more than worth it to go see Hellboy II on opening weekend - so don't miss out!

Hellboy II: The Golden Army is both written and directed by visionary filmmaker Guillermo del Toro of Blade II, Hellboy, and Pan's Labyrinth previously. The film is based off of Mike Mignola's comic book series that was first published by Dark Horse Comics in 1993. Hellboy II arrives in theaters this summer on July 11th. Mark down that day in your calendars now!
Yeah, I can't wait for this one. Did anyone else notice that they spliced a piece of film in backwards in the trailer? Specifically it's the part that the photo was taken from that was posted at the top of this article. Apparently, Hellboy must have a Left Hand Of Doom that he uses occasionally.

Much better than the first trailer and looks much better overall than the first one too.

I'm a huge Mignola fan. First movie sucked donkey nuts and I don't have high hopes for the sequel either.

Looking better than ever.

the first one was'nt that good but a critic that was on Attack of the show said this is probably the best movie Del Toro ever made. I will check it out.

Hey, it's the "visionary director of Pan's Labyrinth". Spielberg and Lucas, those are visionary directors. Del Toro is not.
EFEL on Jun 28, 2008
Looks good, but Del Toro is overrated. Pan's Labyrinth was awesome but the first Hellboy sucked. This looks like it has potential, but nothing exciting.

First Hellboy was fun & funny as hell. Hellboy 2 looks better & even more badass. Looking forward to this one. Whoever thinks Guillermo is overrated or isn't a great visionary should probably make an appointment to have their own vision examined.

Maybe the first disappointed the comic book crowd, but for me, who had no knowledge of it before seeing the movie, it was one of my favorite movies. I loved the characters, it had a solid plot and the treatment of the Nazi occult fetish was over the top without being silly. Pitch perfect.

hellboy hopefully gets a big opening because the week after the dark knight will destroy

@ #1 - Jedi You know, I noticed that as well. I'm wondering if it's a mistake, or if it was done purposefully as an homage to one of the earliest hellboy issues wherein Mignola accidentally drew a Left Hand of Doom, realized it after the book had been published, and then re-drew the panel for the collected edition to correct it. They probably just wanted him facing that direction in the editing, tho. On a different note, I freaking LOVE DelToro's method of using as much puppetry and make-up / prosthetics as possible and then using that realism to sell more subtle CGI. I mean, a lot of this stuff is CGI, but I bet a lot of people honestly can't tell where the make-up stops and the CGI starts. Most of the characters with prosthetics and suits have some kind of CGI enhancing going on.

I see it as The Dark Knight #1 movie, HellBoy #2 movie, then Hancock #3 movie then WALL-E #4 movie then followed by Wanted #5 movie in the box office. That will be the top five in America, other places no idea.
