Must Watch: Paul Rudd's I Love You Man Trailer!

DreamWorks has debuted the trailer for Paul Rudd's new comedy I Love You, Man. Starring alongside of Rudd is a dream team of comedians - Andy Samberg, Jason Segel, Thomas Lennon, J.K. Simmons and even Jon Favreau. In I Love You, Man, Rudd meets the girl of his dreams, played by Rashida Jones, and asks her to marry him, but realizes he doesn't have many male friends that would make a Best Man. So he sets out to try and find one. I've already heard great things about this and will always say that anything with Jason Segel is good - so I'm definitely looking forward to it. Plus the trailer is hilarious, too, so why not?

I Love You, Man is both written and directed by John Hamburg, the screenwriter of Meet the Parents, Zoolander, and Along Came Polly and director of Safe Men and Along Came Polly. This is not particularly a Judd Apatow produced comedy this time, although it features a lot of his regular actors. DreamWorks will debut I Love You, Man in theaters everywhere on March 20th, 2009.

Hmmm looks pretty funny. Kinda wierd that I constantly felt Seth Rogan would just pop up any second. Hes just worked with Jason Segal lots I guess. Pretty cool to see J.K.Simmons in there.

Andy, I love you dude, but I have to disagree. I think (if given a real chance, unlike Role Models) Paul Rudd could totally rock it. He's really funny and I think he's kind of went unoticed for one reason or another. I can't wait.

Man I just want to see Andy Samburg everywhere. Guy's hilarious. Also Alex dude, Paul was the best part of Role Models. The guy could easily carry a movie.

I can't believe they made a movie with this plot. When I got engaged a year ago I came up with the same exact idea for a movie. Damn...missed it by one year.

actually Paul Rudd was the star in ONE movie... i forget the name, but it was about the 10 commandments, or something like that...like 10 different stories with a kinda-sorta ten commandments theme. It had Winona Rider in it fucking a ventriloquist dummy. It was horrible.

Anyone else feel a Vince Vaughn vibe coming from Segal in this trailer? It looks pretty funny though. Looks like one of those rare comedies that is actually really funny with a good message hidden behind it too...

Andy, I totally agree with you. Two things though. First: Over her dead body isn't a good example because a) it was a shitty movie to begin with and b) Rudd was in a totally different role than he normally was. He was a dorky, cookie-cutter, male love interest. Secondly: Don't you agree that all of the roles Paul Rudd has been cast in have been tiny fluff roles with good one liners? WHile I agree with your point, I still think if given the chance Paul Rudd could be both a great supporting actor (like seen in the past) but also a confident leading man.

I'm starting to think you guys have an unreasonable bias against Rudd. I think this is a great idea for a movie, by the way. Kind of like a romantic comedy for guys? Is that right?

I think this looks fun and I think girls will like it because a lot of us can probably relate to dating or at least knowing the "girlfriend guy". Love Andy Samberg!

i think this might be the movie that gets paul rudd on his own two legs (i love him, but i think a lot of the material he's got has made him rely on others) and i hope to see some comedic gold. also, isn't his fiance the bitch that got between jim and pam?

paul rudd could TOTALLY carry a movie by himself! i'm rooting for him to be Hank Pym in Edgar Wright's Ant-Man! this looks cool, but they have to have a really good explaination for why he doesn't just make his brother his best man...

Definitely seeing this, the cast is awesome. Rudd,Segal,Samberg are all hilarious. and Dangle from Reno 911. although his part seems small. I agree with you Andy, Rudd shines as a supporting player. Maybe this will get him his own Apatow movie.

This looks like a male chick flick. Err, or what Tom (#17) said up there, a romcom for guys. I have a deep and disturbing Internet stalker crush on Rashida Jones, but I'll probably be skipping this one.

i just saw andy samberg in this trailer and i jizzed in my pants looks funny, but im wondering why apatow not attached to it. it prolly wouldve been really funny if russell brand was in it, but oh well samberg is a riot and ive liked jk simmons ever since he was making guys his butt pirate on oz

Love the cast, it looks like another great comedy. It's really cool how we've been in this comedic rennaisance as of late with some very fresh faced comedies, though of course the old cows won't get out of the barn just yet, I think Jim Carrey needs to realize the limitations of his talent and exit suite left. Paul Rudd can definitely hold a film on his own. He's one of the rare Apatow vets who's got a serious and seriously funny resume. He's done a lot over the years and it shows.

I saw a sneak preview of this last Friday. Yes, a total rip from the school of Apatow - only one BIG difference - it's better than anything Apatow has ever done. I loved it. Someone commented earlier that this is from the guy that brought you Welcome to the Captain. Well he's also the guy that brought you Safe Men (one of the all-time greats) and whose credits also include Zoolander, Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers and Along Came Polly. Save your judgement for when you see it. The trailer is fine - not nearly as good as the movie. And Rashida Jones.....oh mamma.

It wasn't that funny. There's the usual funny things many comedy films use like burping and nerds running away from big bullies, or some guy kissing another guy but seriously comedy films need to stretch and be a little more fresh.
