As we near the opening of Tropic Thunder next Wednesday, August 13th, the faux documentary on the project titled Rain of Madness continues to turn out some awesome snapshots of the main characters. Earlier, we tipped you off to featurettes for leads Tugg Speedman (Ben Stiller) and Kirk Lazarus (Robert Downey Jr). Now, rainofmadness.com/ has been updated with a variety of other clips that are just plain hysterical, including those for two of the film's best characters (second to Downey Jr., of course): pyrotechnician Cody Underwood (Danny McBride) and rising rapper Alpa Chino (Brandon Jackson). If you're interested in Tropic Thunder in the slightest, you definitely need to check out these videos.
First off, Alpa Chino is probably the best damn name I've come across in a long while. Upping the funny even further, Chino's trademark products are an energy drink called Booty Sweat and a candy bar called Bust-a-Nut, which allows you to "bust a cap in hunger." As I said before, I don't know where these guys come up with this stuff! Quite honestly, Tropic Thunder has some of the most clever, well-constructed characters I've ever seen in a comedy in quite a long time!

Even though he's a supporting cast member and doesn't have the same level of backstory as the film's leads, Cody Underwood is the awesome trademark Danny McBride we've come to love over a just a few short years. His unapologetic, irreverent ass-kicking simply never gets old. In his clip, he pretty much embodies the anti-green movement and talks about taking mother nature and "beating her in her little mouth." I've watched the clip several times and can't stop laughing. McBride is like a doughy 12-year-old professional wrestling fan caught in a man's body. Totally immature and totally funny.

Head on over to the Rain of Madness official website to check out other humorous looks at Jeff Portnoy (Jack Black), John "Four Leaf" Tayback (Nick Nolte) and a jungle training scene with Jay (Kevin Sandusky) and the director Damien (Steve Coogan). There are a bunch of other great characters you'll discover in the film as well - so be sure to check it out! Will you see Tropic Thunder next week?

Ok "RED"...but just because that is my last name, does not mean I cannot percieve talent......or perhaps you still think Nick Cage can act....Does timing like a ROCK ring a bell??!.... or Seth Rogen as the Green Hornet still a good idea??!

Have to go with Clover on this one. The only thing worse than Ben Stiller acting, is his directing. Yikes. No thank you.

Alex, on E! today they had a TRUE HOLLYWOOD STORY surrounding the making of TROPIC THUNDER (not the movie but the movie inside the movie) and all of the actors were in character. It was HILARIOUS! Very good fake marketing.

I love the fact that he is clearly trying to be Werner Herzog. Great stuff.
