O'Horten Trailer

The trailer for the Norwegian indie film O'Horten arrived earlier this week, and although I wasn't too fond of the film itself, I thought I'd feature this trailer for those who may be interested in checking it out. O'Horten is a charming film about the 67-year-old Odd Horten (played by Bård Owe), who retires from his position as a train engineer after 40 years. This shouldn't be taken the wrong way, but O'Horten is a small film, it has that very indie feel to it. While this trailer isn't anything amazing, it does at least feature on of my favorite elements of the film - the music written by Norwegian band Kaada. I hope you enjoy!

O'Horten is both written and directed by Norwegian filmmaker Bent Hamer, of Applause, Water Easy Reach, Kitchen Stories, and Factotum previously. The film first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and went on to play at numerous other fests throughout the year, before being picked up by Sony Pictures Classics for distribution. O'Horten arrives in very limited theaters starting on February 20th, 2009.

Pretty good trailer. I love my foreign films. This indie gem looks promising, plus the great photography just reels me right in!

hmm, looks pretty interesting to me. Possibly something I'd prefer to watch at home on a Saturday afternoon, in between recovering from Friday night's drinking and preparing for Saturday night's. This film looks like the anti-Twilight. It features more mature lead actors portraying characters who might have actually had some worthwhile life experiences beyond the high school angsty gossip wars.
