And Boom! Transformers 3 Gets a 2011 Release Date!
by Alex Billington
March 16, 2009
Just days after Marvel announced that they had pushed back the release of Thor to 2011 and The Avengers to 2012, Paramount announces an official July 1st, 2011 release date for Michael Bay's Transformers 3. However, the studio is not confirming that Bay will be back or that this is even an indication that they're moving forward on a sequel (even though we know that this totally is a good indication). The first Transformers hit theaters on July 3rd of 2007, and the sequel is set to arrive this summer on June 24th. Paramount and Michael Bay are obviously keeping everything on a tight-knit two year schedule.
It looks like 2011 is shaping up to be quite an exciting year. Spider-Man 4 is scheduled for May 6th, Thor is scheduled for May 20th, Kung Fu Panda 2 is scheduled for June 3rd, Cars 2 is scheduled for June 24th, the final Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II is schedule for July 15th, and Marvel's The First Avenger: Captain America is scheduled for July 22nd. We might also see Disney add Pirates of the Caribbean 4, or The Lone Ranger, to the schedule depending on which of those two moves forward first. You can expect to hear a lot more about Transformers 3 as we head into the summer movie season.
MUUWWAAHHAAHAA the first to comment......bring it on!!! AAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!

Didn't Michael Bay say he wanted to take a year off before doing anything after ROTF comes out?

"Paramount announces an official July 1st, 2011 release date for Michael Bay's Transformers 3. However, the studio is not confirming that Bay will be back..." You really don't see the problem with this writing?

Hopefully Michael Bay will be killed in a car crash before 2011, actually preferably sooner, so he doesn't get to make any more films. Either that or I hope the whole world explodes and Michael Bay captures it on film, but can't show it because everyone is dead.

pirates 3 suck , spiderman 3 suck, cars sucked, harry potter and the order of the phoenix kinda sucked. and im tired of marvel comics after i watched watchmen. watchmen is the future of comics. im not a fan of the graphc novel but man that movie was the shit. bring on some giant robots in 2011.
Darrin on Mar 16, 2009

Hey at least the 3rd Transformers will be out before the end of the world according to Roland Emmerich in 2012 *sarcastic laugh*
Lazarus on Mar 16, 2009
I'm surprised Marvel are bringing out Captain America only a week after the last Harry Potter... that's stiff competition there, surely.
Tony on Mar 16, 2009

Pirates 4? I thought thy were going to do some stupid prequel thing or Jack spin-off? Kung-fu Panda 2? Cars 2? Must everything be a sequel? Obviously there are movies with story lines that can have sequels. Others, need to go straight to DVD like Disney's other movies. Toy Story 2 was such a let down theater wise. Wasn't as epic.

Don't believe it. Unless principle has been shot allready in connection with 2. No way.
Tim "CLoverfield" on Mar 17, 2009
I hope that they aren't jumping the gun on this. I know the first one got great reviews, but come on the 2nd one isn't even out yet!
Shannon on Mar 17, 2009
They already were planning on doing Transformers as a trilogy to begin with. And I hope Michael Bay gets to do it again, to complete the trilogy.
The_Phantom on Mar 17, 2009
At no. 11, after that terrible pirates 3, im surprised that jerry bruckheimer wants to do another one, cars did suck as well as harry potter and the order of the phoenix, but the new harry potter looks pretty awesome. but iron man was seriously a total rip off of batman begins. so im not anymore into marvel. As usual the spiderman trilogy was that same old bullshit, mary jane gets kidnapped. lets hope transformers 2 could hold up good.
drake on Mar 17, 2009
now the only question remaining is: will ms. fox and the beef still be famous in 2011? although, he's got spielberg's backing...
Zach on Mar 17, 2009
Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is coming to movie theaters on may 25th, 2012 friday!. That is according to the johnny depp/pirates of the caribbean website called http://www.ohjohnny.net/ .

Why does it seems like everyone hates sequels? What's the problem with a sequel to a good movie? Alright, I havn't seen Cars, I'm not a fan of Harry Potter and Pirates 3 was... meh. I though Spider-Man 3 was great and I wait with anticipation for the 4'th. #26: How the hell was Iron Man a ripoff from Batman? They're about as different as it gets, alright I can see a few basic similarities, like their want for retribution and justice and the fact that they both own a company and they use technology but that's about where the similarities end. Alright, I can't remember much about Batman Begins, was ages since I last saw it, but I'm pretty sure Batman didn't have a cool tech-suit of titanium gold armor, was a genius and was betrayed by one of his closest friends that made a larger version of that armor (although not in titanium gold alloy). Heck, I can't even remember if Batman even had a real nemesis. Also, you can't compare the Iron Man movie to the Batman movies, they're two different kinds of genres. Iron Man is a super hero, Batman is a hero. The movies brings up different subjects and Batman (and all DC movies for that matter) is much darker, less super and pewpew and more, I'm not sure, deeper thoughts I guess...

#11 the watchmen were DC comics. And since everything sucks you should go and make a movie that doesn't even though you can't get your comic publishers right. and you suck
Chris on Sep 6, 2009
