The Fallen from Transformers 2

Yesterday I stopped by BotCon 2009 in Pasedena to geek out on all things Transformers and I picked up Hasbro's toy version of The Fallen, the big, bad villain from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. We haven't really seen much of him yet, but this guy is a badass, I can just feel it, he's got the look and he seems really pissed off, and nothing is going to stop him when he gets to Earth. MTV has the first photo "revealing" The Fallen (even though we posted photos of him back in February) but this time it's an action shot. And for those of you just waiting to hear more about this guy, we've got a few more tidbits on him.

Shia LaBeouf revealed, in an interview with MTV, some new, sort of spoilerish details, on The Fallen and his origins. "His transportation method is unlike any other robots transportation. The way he fights is also very different and spectacular, visually stunning, really incredible. He is the main dude, he is what all of this came from. Basically, The Fallen was to us, what caveman and neanderthals were. It was the first version of this exoskeleton, it was the first version of this sentient being. That's essentially what he is, he is the origins of what they come from. He is a badass, you know, he has to be." Check out the photo and more below.

The Fallen

Here is the description of The Fallen from the back of the toy box: For millennia, he has waited. Thousands of years have dragged by as he recruited proxies, one by one, to scour the cosmos for the artifact he required. Now he finds he must return to the primitive, flesh-slug infected planet on which his quest began. Nothing will stand in his way this time. If need be, he will scour the surface of this disgusting world clean in the fire of his rage, and search through the blasted rubble for that which he seeks. I definitely can't wait to see more of this guy! Unfortunately, it sounds like he's only a part of the last battle in the movie.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is again directed by action film superstar Michael Bay of Bad Boys, The Rock, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, The Island, and Transformers previously. The story and screenplay for the sequel was written by Transformers writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci as well as Ehren Kruger (The Ring, The Brothers Grimm, Blood and Chocolate). Paramount is unleashing Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in both IMAX and regular theaters on June 24th this summer. We'll be there!

I pretty sure The Fallen dude will be a badass, but with there being so many potential badas villans in T2 such as Demolisher and Devastator how can we know who will really stand out. Oh! and how can I forget about Megatron's epic return. Peace Out !

Am I the only person who still think all these Transformer robots lame?? waaaaay to embelished and crazy and not realistic at all. This movie is going to suck!!!! But at least we have Terminator which is awesome. Better and more realistic robots and not everything is polished and overly CGI and if it is at least it doesnt look like it.

Tomi on May 30, 2009

ugh... that looks ridiculous 🙁 transformers are lookin less and less like robots and more n more like spiky aliens.

@ #1 : lol...that made my day.

Well, how should a 4 million plus year old alien robot look? Should it be bipedal, and look like Voltron and Macross. Optimus Prime I think is the 4th "Prime", guardian of the Matrix. Alpha Trion is considered to be ancient to the other Cybertronians. The Fallen is one of the "Original 13" Cybertronians, so he's prehistoric in our terms (probably a billion yrs for them). The less human they look, the more sense it would make. My problem with the story is that Megatron is too powerful. If Prime can't balance out Megatron's power, how can the Autobots survive let alone win? Devastator, Megatron, and the Fallen (who could take on both sides by himself) and the Autobots keep getting smaller...

I now like the Fallen............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#8 - Just wait, maybe there is a secret weapon the Autobots have that they're just waiting to unleash as well... We'll find out in June, don't worry. 😉

Alex Billington on May 30, 2009

I only hope that he lasts longer than most other "awesome" bad guys in movies. Not only do they have a short appearance in the movie but their lives are cut short also. For example: Darth Maul didn't last long in his first fight against the jedi, which was lame. Venom against Spiderman, DeadPool against Wolverine and Sabretooth. There are more but the point has been made. I wanted to see more of these characters. They were supposed to be the baddest of the bad and yet, they don't last long when put to the test.

Show me Soundwave!!! (and not the goofy new toy, a film shot please)

Mark on May 30, 2009

the fallen looks great, and prime and the old decepticon who turned into the autobots side will finish the three of them, or at least the fallen. go bumblebee!!!

Good thing that we have people like #4 who got a magic ball and can predict CGI, movie quality and popularity.

Man, I love this website <3

Robbie on May 31, 2009

The Fallen is the main villain in the movie and the final fight looks like it's going to be epic. And the method of Transportation is...Teleportation believe me this is the truth.

Fisherr on May 31, 2009

and Thank you #8 for making things clear what you say does make sense really, all we have to do is to wait till the end of June and see everything ourselves to know how things will end.

Fisherr on May 31, 2009

Alex, I told you that was the Fallen in the trailer!

#4 Uhm... Science Fiction? Why couldn't they be true? The animators have done an amazing job in the transformation, layout of the robots and integration into the real world. You also have to think of what Terminator essentially is; a Sci-Fi Doomsday movie. And do you really think TIMETRAVEL is less fiction than robots that can change appearance and are "alive"? Or that there's somewhere a planet that consists of only robots? Alright, the Transformers the movie story has been slightly changed from the original, just like all other to movie has. The movie is going to be great, so will probably Terminator. #12 Sure the baddest of them all will only be in "one" fight, but there are so many other decepticons to defeat, oh and Megatron returns as well. And #8 got it all right, and the Autobots have some tricks up their sleeve, like oh I don't know, all the nations of Earth on their side maybe?

Felix on May 31, 2009

I THINK... like the fallen can attach many vehicles to form one entity, i think autobots will do the same near the end.. what you guys think???

agentX on May 31, 2009

The way i see it...the Autobots don't stand a chance against the Decepticons in this movie (i mean Devastator alone is bigger and badder than all of them)...but what if the Fallen won't be in the Decepticons team, what if he plays against them....what if Megatron and Fallen want the same artifact, and the final epic battle won't take place between Decepticons and Autobots, but between Decepticons and The Fallen (with some Autobot help)?!?!?

Deckter on May 31, 2009

#21 Thats actually Devastator (if you mean the giant sand sucking beast) - its the Constructicons that merge into Devastator. The Autobots gets the Twins (skids and Mudflaps), two cars that can merge into one. The Fallen shouldn't actually transform into anything from Earth, if he even have the ability to transform. Take Soundwave for example; he will be an alien ship in his transformed mode. As for Autobots being outnumbered and outpowered you'll have to think about movie 1. Decepticons lost everyone but Scorpnok (the scorpion attachment from Blackout) and the coward Starscream whereas the Autobots only lost Decimator Jazz at the hands of Megatron. Also, Optimus Prime is seen battling multiple Decepticons, dualwielding those energy swords. My guess is that both sides will loose robots, probably more this time.

Felix on May 31, 2009

Barricade did not die in number 1.

luke on May 31, 2009

The way I see it is that since The Fallen is more of a "bane of all existance" than normal evil, the Autobots and the decepticons will most likely end up teaming up to take him out. Also the I don't know if they are going to show the autobot matrix of leadership in this movie. Would be cool but don't see how. And I wonder what megatrons transformation will be this time. I heard it was a tank. Also for the people who remember such things, I know that the guy who plays the voice of Marcus Fenix is going to be the voice of Sideways, but who/what was sideways? This is really annoying me because I'm sure i used to know.

TheSaint on May 31, 2009

*spoiler* barricade will become sideways. The fallen will be sick!

Cat on May 31, 2009

Barricade most likely died, since he isn't listed as one of the Transformers in Revenge of the Fallen ( Sideways is a simple courier who avoids combat and hides behind larger Decepticons, his Transformed mode will be an Audi R8. Sideways first appeared in Armada, he had two forms, an earthly motorcycle and a Planet X Jet. Sideswipe however (the Autobot) will be a Chevrolet Corvette and the Autobots gets three females, all motorcycles. Megatron will transform into a Cybertronian Tank, last time it was a Cybertronian Jet. The Fallen will transform into a Cybertronian Jet instead. It also seems that Blackout did survive, but can find nothing about Barricade, my guess is still that he died. Skyfire (called Jetfire in the movie) will be one of those I'm hoping on, he's a large jet - larger than Optimus Prime. This information is not entirely to be trusted as it comes from Wikipedia (had to check to confirm some things).

Felix on May 31, 2009

#25 That actually makes sense, the rules of defeat changes with Scapel (The Doctor).

Felix on May 31, 2009

Blackout died. most likely got revived along with megatron, he did get tossed in the sea with megatron

luke on May 31, 2009

Which Transformer is going to piss on one of the baddie humans this time? That gag certainly showed the age demographic they're aiming for.

Shockwave's Ghost on Jun 1, 2009

Doubt there will be any "baddie humans" in Transformers 2. Sector 7 is disbanded and most of those who used to work on Sector 7 now works with the Autobots along with the soldiers from Transformers 1.

Felix on Jun 1, 2009

So,this guy,is he on the bad side or the good side?He looks too huge for the movie alone,I'm actually scared for the autobots.

george on Jun 1, 2009

My money is on The Fallen being a "universal threat" that both sides have to fight against. I'd also bet that at some point the Decepticons will betray their "alliance" with the Autobots.

S on Jun 1, 2009

Alex Billington.... the autobots with a secret weapon of their own... dam, not Im more excited than ever.... Dinobots?? Combiners?? Omega Supreme?? cant wait

yayaya on Jun 1, 2009

I'm praying for Tidal Wave. He was originally supposed to be in the first one.

I have anxiety (and depression) on Jun 1, 2009

@alex and yayaya I think the secret weapon is - spoiler alert****** - Optimus and jetfire combining to destroy all the deceptipunks!

Cat on Jun 1, 2009

But you guys already knew that.

Cat on Jun 1, 2009

Okay, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE????!!!!!!!!!!! You are out of your minds if you think that Transformers is not going to be the best freaking movie in the world!!!!!!!!!!! Transformers is going to be the best movie in the history of best movies!!! I will definitely have to go see this movie in theaters and buy it and watch it like a million times in one day. You crazy people have no freakin clue what you are talking about and need some serious mental help if you think Transformers is f****ed up.
