So this doesn't really count as a poster, but it's close enough. Earlier this week, Disney installed a new billboard in Los Angeles (near Santa Monica Blvd and Westwood Blvd) for the upcoming Tron Legacy. The photo of the billboard (above) comes from AICN, where they also say that the photo will change every month from now until this is released next December. I wonder what else will show up? ComingSoon also landed a clean, high quality version of the banner image, which you can see below. This was also the "first photo" that was sent to select Facecbook fans as part of a promo they ran. So anyway, check it out below.
Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father's disappearance and is pulled into the digital world of Tron where his father has been living for 25 years.
Tron Legacy is directed by first-time filmmaker Joseph Kosinski. The screenplay was co-written by Adam Horowitz ("Lost"), Richard Jefferies (Blood Tide, Living Hell), Edward Kitsis ("Lost"), and the director of the original movie, Steven Lisberger. This first got the greenlight last year because this early teaser played well at Comic-Con. Disney is bringing Tron Legacy to theaters in 3D starting on December 17th, 2010.

Looks great, just saw the original and I think this remake can be very good especially with the Lost writers. 1st time directors is scary though.

"First Time" director is scary if he has no short film or DP or any other type of filmmaking experience. "District 9" was Neill Blomkamp's first feature so... hit or miss. As for Tron.... i"m so there... 'specially if there is a Boxleitner cameo.

So I was on the bus reading my book on Santa Monica/Westwood in Los Angeles. I absentmindedly gazed outside my window and saw a Tron Legacy billboard. I even did a double take to make sure. I was confused; I thought they moved the date earlier next year so I read the date. December 2010! What the fck? Why is the billboard out so early? This is the answer!

The poster looks good, but what i think have Disney waited to long to bring Tron Legacy to the screen from the original Tron, i shall make my mind up about Tron Legacy when i have seen the first proper trailer not the early test footage to tout the film Disney so it could be made. 🙂
