Avatar Featurette

Are you ready to dive head first into the mind of James Cameron and the world of Avatar? You've read about him, seen the world he's created, now you can get a glimpse behind his vision in this new featurette released by Fox. This video was released in coordination with the new trailer to continue to build hype and excitement for Avatar and show us a little behind-the-scenes of it all. There's lots of new footage (almost too much) as well as a few good interviews with actors and so much more. If you're still excited for Avatar (or need more to get you pumped), then just watch! It shows the world of Pandora like you've never seen before.

Watch this behind-the-scenes featurette for James Cameron's Avatar:

Avatar is the story of an ex-Marine on the planet Pandora who, as an Avatar - a human mind in an alien body - finds himself in a desperate fight for his survival and that of the indigenous beings called Na'vi.

Avatar is both written and directed by Oscar winning visionary filmmaker James Cameron, of Piranha II, The Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, True Lies, and Titanic previously. He has been developing the technology to make this movie for the last 10 years. 20th Century Fox is bringing James Cameron's Avatar to both IMAX and regular theaters in 3D around the world on December 18th.

At the time of titanic everybody wanted Cameron to fail but he didn't same thing is happening here though there are people who hate the Titanic but for the people who loved it made it a highest grossing movie of all time .I think same is gonna happen here. It will be not as huge hit like Titanic but sure it will it's money back and that's for sure.I think this movie will answer it's critics once it releases. The Featurette is just beautiful and shows why pandora looks good even in night time.

James Cameron AQUAMAN!!!!!!!! Can't Wait

Macc on Nov 1, 2009

The visuals are decently impressive, but I still can't tell how well this story will play out. It may very well be a beautiful movie with a crappy script. We'll see.

FancyMonocle on Nov 1, 2009

WTF??? The video is not available outside of US?... I just got a blank space. 🙁

Drived on Nov 1, 2009

James Cameron never fail, because he always knows what he's doing, we don't have to worry about him, he'll always bring us the best, because he's the best.

DEMC01 on Nov 1, 2009

honestly, this movie is getting way to much hype and i just dont see why, all i see is horrible CGI and shitty actors!

hulk on Nov 1, 2009

awesome. just awesome.

They seem to love themselves don't they? I want this to do good, I really do I'm even willing to leave my disdain for 3D in check and see it, but so far I'm underwhelmed.

I might actually go and watch it now; when it comes out......

@ stupid number 2 and 3 Michael bay is like uwe boll and he is a douche bag because it must be what he wants or ells he will cry out loud . no matter if it is stupid racist twin robots or gigantic ultra-advanced robots that even cant see through a simple wall (I MEAN HOW STUPID CAN SOMEONE BE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) at least Cameron,s movies doesn't have giant plot holes or stupid human dramas (in transformers the scene that sam dies and the girl kisses him it was so matrix now who steals!!!) he may stole that story but for sure he can make something that can be called a movie transformers was just about visual effects and how useful they can be (of course if someone could use them right)

i dont understand how any one can hate after this footage. i was skeptical after the teaser, and even skeptical after the second trailer, but dammit this footage sold me. i cannot wait!

james on Nov 1, 2009

I like the marketing, it was first a letdown, now it just looks better and better each new tidbits they show us.. I'll see this at the movies for sure, only thing I havent decided yet, is if I'm gunna see it in 3D. At the 24min presentation, I thought it was too dark for 3D, if that makes sense? And if it's subtitled...no way, that really sucked, having the subtitles infront of the movie, in 3D

It's pretty sad when it's become more "hip" to jump on an all-hating bandwagon filled with basement dwelling fuckups than to be hopefully optimistic about a movie on such a scale. I don't get all the hate, I really don't. Are you disappointed by the graphics? Firstly, wait to see it where it was meant to be seen: IMAX 3D. Secondly, you're an idiot. Are you offended by Cameron's smug attitude? It doesn't matter, because it works for him and he's still better than you. Are you a Michael Bay fanboy? If so, I feel bad enough for you already. Resist and hate all you want, but I can't wait to see this movie succeed.

Transformers reboot!!!!!! James Cameron, please save us from these God-aweful Michael Bay TF crap.

Florian on Nov 1, 2009

I wish i didn't watch this because it showed me so much footage, But after seeing all of it I'm (for the first time) pumped for the Movie.

DoomCanoe on Nov 1, 2009

looks great... seriously different. wondrously epic. nuff said.

ben on Nov 1, 2009

I beat if you watch it in 3d, you will be more immersed in the movie. I think only then can people judge.

Nikhil Hariharan on Nov 2, 2009

cool cant wait. Sure it may not give you the shock and awe now, but I look forward to the visuals on the big screen.

JimD on Nov 2, 2009

This behind footage is a better insight to Avitar than the new trailer i think. The new trailer does not do the film any justice, they should put this short film of behind the scence as the new trailer into cinemas and get rid of the new trailer.

Cineprog on Nov 2, 2009

The visuals look fantastic. Hopefully the acting and story will be similar. Not a fan of Michelle Rodriguez.

Phill on Nov 2, 2009

James Cameron is the man. I am so pumped for this.

Wow, now I really want to go and see this movie.

The Guitar God on Nov 2, 2009

great!...cant wait

Trey m on Nov 2, 2009

Only thing I'm not liking is the 'love story' angle they look to be pushing...but I'll still be running full speed (ticket money in hand) to see this in the theater!!!

Marc on Nov 2, 2009

Not to hate but Im still a little iffy about the aliens... the rest of the effects look great but the aliens just look so horribly CGI, why coulnt they just put make up on people and use some camera tricks to make them seem bigger than human, this way you would get realistic shadows and movements and they would actually look believable.

Tomi on Nov 2, 2009

The are a lot a fantastic bits in this video, but man...2.34-2.41, that level of detail is just INSANE! Again, and again, and again...James I totally love you!

Ambient on Nov 2, 2009
