Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Teaser

I've decided to forgo a new Indie Trailer Sunday today in order to feature this brand new teaser for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I. The DVD and Blu-Ray of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince hits shelves on Tuesday this week, and found on that DVD was this special early look at the next movie in the series. As always, I get chills watching this kind of stuff just because I love this series and I'm already getting excited about this next one (even though it's not due out for another 11 months). The first half of this video is a brief introduction and then it goes into the teaser trailer about at the halfway point.

Watch the first teaser for Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part I:

Voldemort's power is growing. He now has control over the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts. Harry, Ron, and Hermione decide to finish Dumbledore's work and find the rest of the Horcruxes to defeat Voldemort.

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows is again directed by British filmmaker David Yates, of Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince previously. The script was also written again by Steve Kloves, of Sorcerer's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, and also Half-Blood Prince, but not Order of the Phoenix. This is based on J.K. Rowling's very popular series of books which have already concluded. Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part I will arrive in theaters on November 19th, 2010 next year.

Damn nevermind

Garrett on Dec 6, 2009

Im glad they can make it look this good a year from release...being slightly disappointed with HBP... I really think these last 2 will be amazing.

Jake on Dec 6, 2009

First of all it will be terrible like all of the other movies theres no point in making them or watching them i hate the whole point of Harry Potter ITS GOING TO SUCK!!!!

Justin on Dec 6, 2009

Holy Crap.

PJ H on Dec 6, 2009

meh, the movies always cut decent trailers, but then always end up a disappointment.

Collin on Dec 6, 2009

I dont get peoples fascination with theese movies. Theyre always just ok. How they made so many is beyond me course theyre making all the twilight movies so i guess good taste doesnt matter

hale on Dec 6, 2009

@8 How don't you understand why they have made them all (the movies)? They make shit loads of money.

klaus_komix on Dec 6, 2009

The trailer looks promising. I was terribly disappointed in Half Blood Prince, the most important parts to the book were either missing or not explained properly as they are so vital to the 7th book's storyline. They really should have made that movie a 2 parter as well. Actually, because all the books are so filled with important details, and so much that was missing which is important or even vital to the next part of the story, they should have all be 2 - 3 part movies.

daMamma on Dec 6, 2009

The Half blood prince was to long it got boaring i was falling asleep half way through it lets hope that The Deathly hallows will be better, not abad trailer for a first one. 😉

Cineprog on Dec 6, 2009

I have never seen even one of these movies.

Cody on Dec 6, 2009

I am very glad David Yates is doing the last two. He brought a maturity to the series which was desperately needed for the final events.

JPCaetano on Dec 6, 2009

Ok im So Excited!! But kinda sad it will be split in to two movies but i suppose its worth it!!

~?eLmO on Dec 6, 2009

Good stuff. Just like all the ones before it'll be great...

RPD on Dec 6, 2009

Excited already =)

Robbie on Dec 6, 2009

Deathly Hallows will be so epic. Is there any other movie series that has received such high critic praise for six straight movies in a row? They are all certified fresh on Rottentomatoes.

Franzen233 on Dec 6, 2009

Already CAN'T WAIT !!!! Love this series of Books & Films !!!! As #17 said Deathly Hallows will be EPIC !!!

Florian on Dec 6, 2009

Harry Potter = what's wrong with the world.

K on Dec 6, 2009

Wait what? Wasn't it supposed to come out in like July or June or something. Not all the way until November???? Did i miss something?

Efrain on Dec 6, 2009

Hopefully book fans cant complain about omitting stuff from Deathly Hallows. Also, a word of advice. Don't re-read/glance at the book at all until the movie is already out. The worse thing you can do is read it just before seeing it.

Zetty on Dec 6, 2009

You missed nothing Efrain, they've pushed all of them off. Half-blood Prince was supposed to be out last Nov. Instead it was out this past summer. Part 1 of Deathly Hallows this Nov and Part 2 this coming summer. Instead it will be next winter and the summer after next. (bummer) My hope is a boxed set extended version of all the movies in 2012. Too much has been cut from all the films. Much of it was vital to books 6 and 7. The writing and story lines improved with each book, sadly not so with the films. Too many changes of directors and producers with their own visions instead of following closely to the actual story. AK did fans no favors when she allowed that to happen.

daMamma on Dec 6, 2009

I'll see it, there's no doubt about it...but after seeing Half-Blood Prince the romance movie with my DAD! It will be hard to get the fifty year old to trust me again!

Xerxex on Dec 6, 2009

I'm not sure you're correct #22 with Deathly Hallows getting pushed back. I remember thinking that there was a 2 year gap between Half-Blood and Deathly Hallows before Half-blood was delayed. That would mean that November of 2010 was always the plan for Deathly Hallows. Half-Bloods delay didn't affect the release of 7.

Franzen233 on Dec 6, 2009

It's strange to see them outside of Hogwarts. And not a word of Grindelwald? Maybe because it's the first trailer... they just mentioned the most important thing: The Deathly Hollows. It's too early to say if it will be epic. I'm a fan of the series and I hope it will be. This franchise is the greatest ever and I want it to end with a big BANG!!! @20 Efrain Yes, you missed something: the first part was to come out in November from the start. Part 2 will come out in July, but 2011.

me on Dec 6, 2009

I am a so damn lucky one. They just deleted the video after I saw it. 🙂 🙂 :)))) And yeah - this will be a great and dark Harry Potter movie! Love how they run in the forest and this little dwarf looks scary!!!

Millus on Dec 6, 2009

can anyone provide a link to download it?

zafar on Dec 6, 2009

i am super glad that i read the books. i forgot so many things untill that teaser.... and it looks amazing!

ME on Dec 6, 2009

Added a newer video version above that is working (for the time being).

Alex Billington on Dec 6, 2009

Yea Half Blood Prince was pretty boring, and the action wasnt that great. I Loved Prizoner though, great actors and the movie itself kept building up to a great climax, pity it didnt do so well ($$$ wise) otherwise that director would have made the series darker and better.

Nikhil Hariharan on Dec 6, 2009

I'm still trying my damndest to figure out the perfect spot to cut the book in half... Man I wanna read it again

Jaf on Dec 6, 2009

#32 I would guess the best part to cut the book in half would be somewhere around the break in at Gringotts Bank. That is a dramatic part between being locked in the vault and escaping on a dragon. Hopefully they take it just beyond that to the woods where Harry finds the sword and the necklace. I'd love to see them do real justice to the Battle of Hogwarts at the end. Should be real exciting to see the castle come to life, from the furniture (remember the charge of the desks?) to the statuary.

daMamma on Dec 6, 2009

I'm excited about this. I really enjoyed the last book. Like #33 said, the battle at Hogwarts hopefully will be done justice. It'll be epic.

Sabes on Dec 6, 2009

Hell Yeah!!!!!!!! I really think this is gonna be god, say the half blood prince was excellent, the very first Potter movie that didn't dissappointed me.....eccept for Dumbledore's funeral, but what the hell, I´M REALLY EXCITED

Godius333 on Dec 6, 2009

meh trailer. nothing exciting. last book was the worst of the series. and the movie series isn't that amazing. They got the look of it down, and I praise the movie producers and directors for translating the pages into pictures, but the feel of the books didn't always make it, and often times it was hard to follow if you haven't read the books, and sometimes if you haven't read them in a while. this movie wins however if they change the ending and actually have HP die, like he should have.

dave13 on Dec 6, 2009

Alfonso Cauron was the best director they had. The Prisoner of Azkaban was the best put together film, I wish they'd continued with him. Still, people are saying they don't get why everyone gets so excited about these movies when they complain so much. We complain because we have such high expectations because the books are so good. We complain, and say we hate these movies...but we don't. I've seen them all so many times, and I enjoy every one of them. Even the 4th one, I hated the way it was directed, but I'd say it has my favourite scene from any movie (The graveyard scene). I will continue to watch these movies, and whether they meet my expectations or not, I will still enjoy them and buy them.

Aldonn on Dec 6, 2009

#36 HP did die in the last book. In the woods, surrounded by death eaters and Voldemort pulled the avada cadava curse and killed harry. That was how the horcrux inside Harry was killed. Because Harry willing gave himself up to save his friends and everyone else fighting at Hogwarts that act alone saved them from Voldemort's curses. HP was given the choice to stay or go back after he was killed. He chose to go back. A complex notion but not unheard of in many cultures.

daMamma on Dec 6, 2009

there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with this teaser. it's just like the other "potter" movies: if you liked the books, you'll like the movies. i HATE the "potter" book series. (but i LOVE fantasy novels in general) i like the enviroments and atmosphere, but the story, characters, and acting aren't very engaging to me.(as far as the books and previous movies) i'm not expecting much from this..........i might see it when it hits netflix.

beavis on Dec 6, 2009

Jesus Radcliffe is a useless actor.

d1rEct on Dec 6, 2009

by the last book, things had gotten stale and boring.but the last book does promise some of the most hardcore action in the series-massive fires, heads chopped off-i just hope they flesh out some of the supporting characters more, either way nov 2010 is a long way too go and it seems they're going to gradually bring the hype up.

twispious on Dec 6, 2009

I am going to shit a brick if they screw up the action scenes in this as badly as the past movies, let alone cut them out. On the other hand, I'll likely wind up liking it regardless.

case on Dec 7, 2009

I think what really disappointed me most about movie #6 (Half Blood Prince) was the fact that so many really key parts were missing. These missing parts are important to the next movie. It also bothered me when the director changed a very important piece. In the book, Harry hid the science book (Potions) in the room of requirement. Not so in the movie. Now in book 7, it becomes really important because where Harry hid that book, he also found the missing Diadem that had been lost for centuries. That diadem belonged to Helga Hufflepuff and became one of Voldemort's horcruxes. By changing this in #6, they will have to change it in the 8th movie. (battle for Hogwarts is when that gets destroyed)

daMamma on Dec 7, 2009

Got chills @_@

Notex on Dec 7, 2009

No, not Helga, it was Ravenclaw. Good grief I am awful with names. Pardon my goof please.

daMamma on Dec 7, 2009

People love these movies not because they are monumental works of film, but because we love the story as it was first told to us in the books. Whether or not the movies are good doesn't really matter to us. Yeah, it sucks when we're disappointed when something we wanted to see was left out, or a plot movement was twisted in a weird way, but in the end we are merely sitting there in the theater supporting an old friend. So if they screw up the deathly hallows beyond recognition, I got that bad boy on my bookshelf waiting for another go around.

ceviche on Dec 7, 2009

Its gonna be a long 11 months till we can see this one, looks great like the rest, anyone know something about The Hobbit movie?

Voice123 - Trailer Voice Over on Dec 7, 2009

48 this one works

Lacey on Dec 7, 2009

i hope this one will be true to the book since its in 2 parts its so frickin long

nick on Dec 8, 2009

Well, I love the Harry Potter series no matter what people may say, of course as in most cases the books are always better. J.K. Rowling really made something incredible when she started. I thought the last movie (HBP) was very good for people who are fans and have either read the books or seen all the of the movies at least twice. The producer decided to make the last movie for the fans because they couldn't just keep trying to explain things to the clueless ones. When I saw the HBP in the theaters a man next to me was dissapointed with it. I asked him if he had seen the other movies or read the books and he replied no. So my point is just that the movies are now being directed towards the fans and they are going more off the books.

Wordsofwisdom on Dec 10, 2009

It's a must watch movie. The half blood prince was the darkest among all.. I am looking forward to see the deathly hallows..

Anzelm on Dec 15, 2009

i wanna see but i can't

joop on Jan 3, 2010

Just picked up my copy of HBP. Good film for the most part. Really should have been split into two parts as there is just so much detail that is vital to the story. If you didn't read the book you are lost as to what exactly they are doing. If you did read the book and expect it to be the same story you are going to be disappointed. I hope that since Deathly Hallows is split into two films that it carries the detail necessary to make the film meet the expectations and story line of the book. The battle of Hogwarts is epic and should really be given a great deal of detail to make it as exciting as in the book. Alas we shall have to wait until part two hits the theaters to find out.
