If you've seen Taken, ask yourself, is there anyone that could kick as much ass as Liam Neeson but is older than him? How about Michael Caine? Thanks to Empire, we've got a first look at two new shots of Caine as/in Harry Brown, an ex-Marine and widow forced to journey through a seedy world of drugs and guns to take revenge for the brutal death of his best friend at the hands of a gang of thugs. Sounds like the makings of a British version of Taken, in a twisted way, and is also being described as a mix of Get Carter and Gran Torino. Let's just say this already sounds like a movie I want to see. Check out the photos!
An elderly ex-Marine and widower looks to avenge his best friend's murder by doling out his own form of justice.
Harry Brown is directed by Daniel Barber, of only the short film The Tonto Woman previously. The screenplay was written by Gary Young, of Shooters and The Last Drop previously. In addition to Michael Caine, this stars Emily Mortimer, Liam Cunningham, and a number of up-and-coming British actors. Harry Brown is being distributed by Lionsgate in the UK, but we're not sure when it will be coming to the US.

Sounds very much like Soderbergh's The Limey. In any case, I'd love to see Caine kicking ass, taking names, and generally raising...uh, Caine.

At last! Caine back at doing what he does best! It's like he's going back to his Get Carter roots! Great stuff.
