Russell Brand in Get Him to the Greek

Not that I was ever excited for this movie, but MTV has debuted some of the first rough footage from Get Him to the Greek. As a reminder, the movie is a spin-off of Forgetting Sarah Marshall focusing on the character of Aldous Snow as played by British sex-addict Russell Brand. It's written and directed again by Sarah Marshall's Nicholas Stoller and stars one hell of a eclectic comedy casting, including Jonah Hill, Rose Byrne, Elisabeth Moss, Katy Perry, and P. Diddy. We have no context regarding the scene in which we're shown, but it involves a night club in Las Vegas, that's as much as I can tell you. Check it all out below.

I was never excited for this, as I thought Aldous Snow was the worst part of Forgetting Sarah Marshall (and why would we want to see more of him?), but this looks even worse than I was expecting. I'm not sure if you'd call what Jonah Hill is doing "acting," but maybe this just needs a good studio polish before I say any more? Either way, I'm not amused, and I don't like Russell Brand, but I know he's a huge star, so I'll let it be. Get Him to the Greek is about a record company intern (Jonah Hill) who is hired to accompany the "out-of-control British rock star" Aldous Snow to a concert at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. Thoughts?

I actually liked Aldous in forgetting sarah marshall, i thought he was funny. hes kinda awkward but funny. even though i thought forgetting sarah marshall was one of my favorite comedies, i'm not sure about the idea of a spinoff movie around his character, but we'll see as more footage comes out.

So why is Jonah Hill in the spinoff of a film that he was in as a different character. Theres PLENTY of young acting talent out there and they go and pick the lad up again. I like Russel Brand. Not sure if thats because Im English but hey. Truth is, he cant do any different characters and its going to be cringeworthy watching him in the remake of Drop Dead Fred!

Well I can see that Jonah Hill is still fatter than holy hell... ;P

He was the second best thing about the movie after Paul Rudd's character. I'm psyched.

Obviously there were enough people who loved him for them to make this spin-off, but he's definitely not my cup o' tea, I don't find him funny at all, sorry guys...

Russell Brand is amazingly talented -- author, actor, comedian -- Always interesting and always entertaining. He was great in Forgetting Sarah movie and hope this movie is a big success too. He seems to be a kind, positive individual---much success to him!

I was at the O2 arena where they recorded a scene for this movie. (Yes, I'm a fan.) To those who are not, whatever you make of the man and his material, you couldn't watch him live without having to concede that he's a very competent stage performer. It's always good to see someone from the British working class make good and shine a torch. I think he's a great individual and a warm human being.
