Year One TV Spot

I had to remind myself that technically the Super Bowl TV spot for this was a TV spot, meaning this isn't exactly the first one. But anyway, the very first 30-second short promo TV spot for Harold Ramis' Year One has debuted and can be seen below. I thought I'd give this summer comedy a little more love, as its been a while since we last mentioned it. Personally, I'm not looking forward to it, but maybe it'll surprise me in the end. I just think the humor looks really dumb, not even in a funny way, but just plain dumb. I'll still check it out, hoping for the best, as Ramis is a great director, or at least he was back in the day.

Watch the official trailer for Harold Ramis' Year One:

When a couple of lazy hunter-gatherers named Zed and Oh (played by Jack Black and Michael Cera) are banished from their primitive village, they set off on an epic journey through the ancient world.

Year One is directed by comedy mastermind Harold Ramis, who played Egon in Ghostbusters and both wrote and directed comedy classics like Caddyshack, Groundhog Day, Multiplicity, Analyze This, and The Ice Harvest. The screenplay was co-written by Ramis as well as "The Office" writers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg. Sony Pictures is bringing Year One to theaters everywhere on June 19th this summer.

Jack Black hasn't made an entirely bad comedy film except Be Kind Rewind (which if it wasn't trying to be a comedy would be a failry good film), so I'm looking forward to it. Maybe a rental though.

I dont understand why people have been hating on this. It looks like a pretty decent comedy, from all the trailers ive seen.

With The Hangover and Funny People both coming out this summer, I forget this movie even exists, which isn't really a bad thing.

I love the director, and really like the lead actors. Why does this seem like such pointless 90 percenter vomit? Appealing to a very odd demographic, and makes Land of the Lost seem highbrow. I hope it turns out better than these clips lead one to believe.

I was a fan of Arrested Development when it came out and thought that the George Michael character by Cera was really great, this nervous shy guy. Unfortunately, thats what he will forever be, no matter what movie he is in, its always the same guy. Kinda lame.

Shut up. All of you. This movie looks hilarious.

Alex. You either like dumb comedy or you don't. I for one cannot wait to see this. Jack Black is the man.

@7 - You're right, this looks like the comedy smash of this summer! NOT!
