Huge Batch of Behind-the-Scenes Transformers 2 Photos!

Everyone is caught up in the buzz for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen at the moment, thanks to that mind-blowingly awesome Super Bowl TV spot that Michael Bay whipped up. While the full teaser trailer won't arrive until Friday the 13th (meaning both the actual date as well as attached to that movie), we've got a huge batch of new behind-the-scenes photos from Transformers 2 thanks to both Latino Review and a guy who was cast as an extra in the movie. Along with these new photos comes some interesting spoilers, which I won't dare reveal here, but the actual photos are all pretty much entirely spoiler free!

So the story goes that a user on the LS2 Forums, who is apparently part of the military, was cast as an extra. He describes his entire experience, including the scenes that he shot. This is one of my favorite excerpts: "Micheal Bay loves the military. I got to speak with him very briefly. He gets so angry on set at the actors but doesn't dare yell or demean the military. It was a trip. He said something to me like do you want a job as a DA (Directors Assistant), I said hell yeah. He was getting pissed at his DA. His DA was like trust me you don't want this job." Check out the photos below and head over to Latino Review for more!

Photos removed at the request of Paramount Pictures. Sorry guys!

To put it simply - I can't freakin' wait for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen! I know these are just a bunch of cell phone shots of vehicles and tanks, but just seeing all of this gets me excited. I love Michael Bay's integration of the military, there is really nothing else than can compare to it in Hollywood. To be honest, I think it's that intergration that makes movies like this so entertaining and so successful in the end. That Super Bowl teaser already looked fantastic and I know there is just so much more to be revealed for this! We've only just begun to scratch the surface. Let's keep the hype going all the way until June!

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is again directed by action film superstar Michael Bay of Bad Boys, The Rock, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, The Island, and Transformers previously. The story and screenplay for the sequel was written by Transformers writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci as well as Ehren Kruger (The Ring, The Brothers Grimm, Blood and Chocolate). Paramount is unleashing Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in both IMAX and regular theaters on June 26th this summer. We'll be there!

The funny thing is, due to the nature of the film (big CG robots doing big CG destruction), the behind the scene shots are actually quite dreary compared to what you'd get on other films where the bts photos would probably be of set designs rather than just a few vehicles 🙂

Our boys in uniform must love Michael Bay. Totally sweet.

Ironmonging on Feb 3, 2009

i believe the silver car in the last shot is a 'vette.

I have to agree, can't wait for this movie. In regards to the silver car, that is a corvette centinnel/concept edition and could possibly be just for this movie. Also, while I can't confirm this, I'd be willing to bet it is Sideswipe.

Hey everyone ... has there been any word as to what the large robot in the trailer is?

John on Feb 3, 2009

if u watch the teaser trailer pause when the sports cars smashes through the wall, if u look closly behind him u see two small transformers my guess it is the twin cars (orange and green cars)

I can't stand michael bay's infatuation with the military, just make a movie about robots smashing shit, don't give us a half hour of sandstorms and bad dialogue poking fun at hispanics.

Kail on Feb 3, 2009

yeah i don't know what the consensus is on this but i thought the first Transformers film was retarded-and i LOVE transformers. But seriously-Michael Bay is foolish. We should've had Ridley Scott knocking these films out, then they would be epics to be remembered, instead of instantly forgettable drivel with 'Marine Core' dialect which the rest of the world finds cheesy and unintelligent. Keep that shit away from Transformers man, you're fucking it up Michael, and you're not in the forces Michael, get over it and start making some films with substance. How amny more of our childhood animation and comic heroes are they going to digest incorrectly and shit out at us with a price tag? Ok, that's me had my little rant. Fuckers. Ok now. Definately finished now. Regards, Scotty from Scotland.

I have to agree with the comments about the military aspects of the first Transformers movie. I felt it had way too much time devoted to the military and Government. Hope they tone it down a bit for the sequel.

Dan Walimaa on Feb 4, 2009

I hope the guy that took the picture keeps his identity a secret so he can continue to be an extra! Thanks for the pics, man! 🙂

I think that it is awesome that he uses the military. And actually uses real military people instead of them being just all actors. Plus for you guys that think he ruined your childhood because he ruined all the designs, Go youtube him on his interviews about transformers. He talks about how he would of loved to just take the cartoon show and grown them up to be 30 feet tall just to please the fans but he said realistically he just couldn't do that. And I think he did a fantastic job on the first one and this one will definitely be better. Oh and by the way. That big robot in trailer actually had two wheels. The second wheel is coming over his head. Sort of when a bike does a wheele. Check it out!

Transformers 2 is going to be great. I keep hearing that the big robot in the teaser is just only one of the 9 Constructicons aka Devastator. If thats true then WOW!!! So far it doesn't look like the Fallen character has been shown. Starscream looks like he will get more screen time, I hope that he isn't killed off, same goes for Optimus Prime, these two are essential for a third film to be made and keep the interest of most fans. G1 fans can tell you from experience that when Prime and Starscream where knocked off in the 86 animated film the Transformers G1 universe was never the same. the G1 cartoon series was never as good. Except when they brought Prime back, but by then it was to late. The whole format of the show was changed soon after and well the rest is history. It's important for Prime and Starscream to live on at least until the final Transformers movie is made. Prime, Starscream, Soundwave, Megatron, are all ICONIC in the Transformers universe. So if Prime and Starscream are killed off in T2 the anticipation of T3 is diminished quite a bit. We have already lost Megatron in the first film (or have we??) Enough. Anyway June 26th,09 the War Continues. "Till All Are One"

As far as Bay using the military I think its great, using real military people is awesome of Michael Bay. I think the military element adds realism and depth to the Transformers movies. Thank u Michael Bay. Semper Fi.

John on Feb 4, 2009

I think that Bay did a really good job the first one, just would of liked the fight between Optimus & Megatron a little more even, Optimus was getting tossed around like a rag by megatron. But we should all look forward to the second one, there is going to be about fourty robots, a lot more explosions and robot fighting and the plot is pretty BadA$$ actually and about the huge robot that is rolling around on that big wheel, that is his torso. From what ive heard the two decepticons that make up devestators legs where killed in batlle so that is why he then is just rolling around in one big wheel.

The pictures were removed Z= I think i'll have a little bit longer.

How can people say the first movie sucked. It was awesome. The military did awesome as well. Not many directors in the world can ask for the pentagon/us military to be in their film. When a movie cracks 700 mil worldwide then who knows what those angry people are thinking. It seems to be the so called "Old school" People that say bay ruined the film and their childhood should maybe grow up and realise that just cause you watched transfromers in "Your" day means that it should be portrayed "Your" way. No other director would have done better imo. Bay owned that film and hell own this! And these cry babies will stand a and realise. Just trying to defend an awesome director here. This is Whale from Wales

For all of you who are wondering who the big wheeled robot is (Decepticon) Constructicon ROTF!!

Transformer Fan on Feb 8, 2009

"How can people say the first movie sucked." I first found out about the first movie in 2004 and was on the edge of my seat the whole 3 years. When the movie finally came out, I was horribly disappointed at how far they deviated from the original story line. I felt like the whole movie was just 1 big G.M. advertisement. I almost walked out when an Autobot started "lubricating" one of the people (you remember, he urinated on him?) Since seeing the first movie, I've learned that Michael Bay is a no talent hack who just happens to have enough money (or investors) to put these big budget films in theaters. I mean, have you seen the list of movies he's producing? Does the world really need A Nightmare on Elm Street remake? What was wrong with the original Friday the 13th? Texas Chainsaw Massacre was just a gross out film with almost no story. Sorry, but I think anyone could have done a better job than Michael Bay on the original Transformers 2007 movie.

Max on Feb 9, 2009

Max... I think you are a complete idiot... The movie was awesome because Bay made the robots look as realistic as possible.... I don't want the see a Jet that has no form of a block shape turn into a Robot that is blocked out.... It would be idiotic... Accept the fact that you are OLD and realize the world and movies have evolved...

Jarrod on Mar 23, 2009

okay in the trailer. when that robot goes through the building. the first robot behind his is Arcee in robot mode doing a whelie. andat the end of the trailer that big thing in the desert surronded by dust is the fallen. okay andall you people puting down the movie. dont go see it. but you porbably will anyways so why put it down in the fist place. and dont post your bullshit about the movie either. we dont care .were here to get hyped . not here nonsense and bullshit. just dont go see it.
