Brothers Trailer

Bam! First line: "Sam's dead!" Wow, Lionsgate is really throwing everyone head first right in to the thick of this. Yahoo has debuted another new trailer for Jim Sheridan's Brothers starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, and Natalie Portman. We featured the first trailer for this back in July, but they've now released a newer, more dramatic cut (that plays like a sequel to Obsessed) to try and persuade moviegoers to see this movie in December. There's lots of screaming in the later half, but it still looks pretty good. I'll probably see this because of the cast more than anything. I just hope it's a great movie as well. What do you guys think?

Watch the second trailer for Jim Sheridan's Brothers:

You can also watch this trailer for Brothers in High Definition on Yahoo

In a small, snowy Pennsylvania town, a young man (Jake Gyllenhaal) comforts his older brother's wife (Natalie Portman) and their children after her husband (Tobey Maguire) goes missing in Afghanistan.

Brothers is directed by Oscar nominated filmmaker Jim Sheridan, of In the Name of the Father, The Boxer, In America, and Get Rich or Die Tryin' previously. The screenplay was written by David Benioff of 25th Hour, Troy, The Kite Runner, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine previously. This is also a remake of Susanne Bier's 2004 Danish film Brødre. Lionsgate is bringing Brothers to theaters on December 4th this winter.

Really it is interesting movie ... It remind me by by a real story happen in the war of Iraq and Iran 1980 -1988 ... when an Iraqi solider was taken as Prisoner of war .... the family thought he was dead in the war ... After 16 years in 1996 Iran and Iraq changed there prisoners and he came back and non of his two children knows who is he ... and of course his wife was married to another man ... And I always think about that situation ... what the man can do ? and how he will live again ? and what will happen to him ?

Film seems promising, but damn, what a terrible trailer. Worst movie-guy voiceovers I've heard in a long time.

Shikaka on Nov 5, 2009

Trailer was bad. The previous one was better. Movie could be good. Spider-Man looks insane in this.

Joey on Nov 5, 2009

This trailer looks........melodramatic. Like it wants to get a few good seats in the theaters by showing Tobey Maguire look insane. I'm sure this movie will be driven by slightly over the top yelling performances

My heart bleeds for the soldiers that we lost today at Fort Hood! War is a terrible thing that destroys so much. You and your families are in my thoughts.

Horrible voice killed it for me. Looks good tho, but horrible trailer.

I think Tobey Maguire is trying to get away from the spiderman image, this part in Brothers might do it for him, he still looks quite menacing in this film.

u wil probly check it out cause of the cast? fair point its a good cast, but it seems like it has a lot more going for it, Jim Sheridan for one thing who is a great director. Do you not agree?

Vincent Cipollone on Nov 6, 2009

Probably Tobey's best performance yet. Or well looks like it. Extremely creepy. Creepier than Lector. Maybe.

Who do you think will win an Oscar for this? The director Jim Sheridan (he's been nominated mulitple times) or Natalie Portman as well as Jake G and Tobey M ? I have no idea they are all so good!

Julia on Nov 25, 2009

I hope they all win an oscar! Especially Tobey Maguire. He seems so intense, and his character goes through so many emotions! He really deserves it.

MadisonJane on Nov 30, 2009

I can't wait! It's almost Friday! This is going to be so legit!

Mowgli on Dec 1, 2009

Great acting by Tobey Maguire, a different kind of character than the ones he has done so far...
