MOVIE TRAILERS
Konnichiwa, Japanese Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Trailer

Oh no, we haven't seen a new Harry Potter trailer since November?! It's time for another one! This latest trailer from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince comes from Japan, which means we get to see Daniel Radcliffe trying to speak Japanese and, of course, some Japanese subtitles. Although everything we've seen so far for this sixth Harry Potter movie has looked fantastic, this is one of the first times where I'm starting to get a bit worried. Too much dry humor? Maybe I'm just looking too far into this? Take a look at the trailer below and let us know if you still think this is going to be the movie of the summer?
Watch the Japanese trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince:
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is again directed by British filmmaker David Yates, of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix previously, and written by Steve Kloves, who also wrote the adaptations of Sorcerer's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, and Goblet of Fire, but did not write Order of the Phoenix. This is the sixth book in J.K. Rowling's immensely popular series. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince arrives in theaters next summer on July 17th, 2009. Be there!

I thought Half-Blood Prince was supposed to be one of the more serious books in the series. I don't like all this comedy, especially after Order Of The Phoenix brought the magicks.

Still, it looks damn intense. Yates seems to understand the world better than any other director so far.

I love you Alex.??? Stick to what you genuinely believe about what you see. Don't play Devils Advocate, that's not why we read your reviews.

Yeah, the humor definitely didn't work for me If this movie really is PG, I couldn't tell because those editors did a damn good job of hiding that fact We just have to wait and see

The humor is pretty bang on. The books have a similar sense of humor, though I always wonder why they add their own jokes when the books can be incredibly funny.

'Far too much dry humour'? I'm pretty sure it's based in Britain (ish). If people were getting kicked in the pants and you saw food fights in the great hall, yeah, that's inappropriate for the story, but a few humourous asides (they tend to lighten tension) is nothing to get worked up about. Maybe I'm just too sarcastic and 'dry-humoured' myself, but nothing in this trailer stands out as being cavalier towards the themes of the novel.
