Michael Bay Announces July 2011 Release for Transformers 3

Michael Bay just stole Paramount's thunder. The man himself has announced via his official forums that they've set a release date for Transformers 3 - July 1st, 2011. As he says, "not 2012." Additionally, Bay has already started work on the sequel with a meeting at ILM and a meeting with screenwriter Ehren Kruger as well as Hasbro. Bay also makes a joke about/to Megan Fox saying "welcome back" and that "I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production." Oh Mr. Bay, I'm not sure your sense of humor is all that funny. He also confirms that his smaller film Pain and Gain will shoot right after Transformers.

Paramount first announced that Transformers 3 was moving forward for a 2011 release way back in March before Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen had even hit theaters. Despite the dismal reviews, it has gone on to make $401 million domestically. There was plenty of discussion about whether or not Michael Bay would return because he kept saying that he wanted to take a break and potentially direct a small feature first (Pain and Gain) before considering returning to the world of giant robots once again. But it looks like he's back and ready to go. No delaying, Paramount wants another tentpole blockbuster in two years time.

wow, #9 is ignorant... ...anyway I hope there is at least a good story instead of pointless action sequences. I'm usually entertained by Bay, but T2 was ridiculous.

Money talks, doesn't it Mr. Bay? I'm sure he'll be crying himself all the way to the bank with not being able to make his little indy film... Just goes to show his filmmaking integrity. I wonder what his price tag was too. And I'm sorry (not really), but I wonder if this whole indy film idea of his was just some financial ploy he wanted to use in order to lure more money from Paramount to get the ball rolling on Transformers 3 anyway. These people can't be trusted.

Sweet deal! Just kill the twins and we're A-OK! I'm glad he's back on bored. Might as well crank this out, make tons of money, then he can go on and do whatever he wants. after transformers 2, which i was hesitant about watching in the first place and later proved to be an utter disappointment, as anticipated. I pretty much vowed to myself that i wouldn't watch any more follow ups because they're pretty much gonna get worse and worse as they come out..... i just hope people start to grow a brain and realize how dumbed down these movies are ....

thank god...one of my favorite films...I don't know why people say the second had not plot...I mean the movie did move along did it not?! the movie tried to explain how the universe moves along did it not...and it had plenty action...I mean...it doesn't classify itself as a dramatic oscar-winning movie... just remove the twins like everyone says...and the crude humor... if you people don't like transforming robots and huge explosions, then maybe you guys should go watch brokeback mountain...or a documentary...non-fiction...have fun...

i hope Bay and co. use this film as an opportunity to bring cultures together seeing as this will be shown all around the world. if it's marketed like Transformers 2 then it should be released in upwards of 60 countries if boxofficemojo.com is anything to go by. Good news! Though I'm just being hopeful here. Bay and crew needs to make this movie more about the robots and less about Shia and Megan running around. I paid money to see Transformers on the big screen, not some kid that takes up 3/4 of the screen time. Also, please, please, make each robot more unique looking, the only robots that I can set apart were Optimus, Bumblebee, Devastator, and the twins. Everyone else looked pretty much the same. 50+ robots my @$$!!!! Oh, and bring on the Dinobots!

1.) #9 ur such a racist bitch 2.) why are people always on michael bay's case? the guy isn't perfect, people! unless u can actually name some of his other movies (without looking them up) and put a face to the name then shutup please. the guy has obviously done something right because both movies made well over $700,000. 3.) all you people who criticize T:ROTF, remember one thing: nobody talked about the plot before the movie came out; it was all about the action and how many robots there were and how hot he was making megan fox look but as soon as people see the movie they hated it when it gave them everything they were expecting so you can't criticize it on something it wasn't even expected to have e.g. a strong story. the fact of the matter is that it delivered on the levels we wanted but when we heard the lines and the plot, we completely destroyed it with insults. i personally loved the movie 4.) the plot was simple because it didn't need to be intricate 5.) going back to how much it made, money doesn't lie in the film industry and i think a movie that is the 21st highest grossing of all-time did some things right to pull in a big audience and michael bay will probably do the same in Transformers 3
