Must Watch: Antoine Fuqua's Brooklyn's Finest Gets a Trailer

Overture Films has debuted a trailer for Antoine Fuqua's Brooklyn's Finest starring Richard Gere, Don Cheadle, Ethan Hawke, Wesley Snipes, Lili Taylor, Ellen Barkin, Will Patton, and Vincent D'Onofrio. This first premiered at Sundance earlier this year to some mediocre reviews, which is why its taken so long to hit theaters. I never saw it there and this is my first look at any footage from the film and I've got to say I'm actually impressed. It looks intense as hell and packed with lots of action, despite being an indie flick. Even if you know nothing about this, I highly suggest watching the trailer, you might find yourself hooked as well.

When the NYPD targets the notoriously drug-ridden BK housing project, three unconnected Brooklyn cops find themselves swept away by the violence and corruption of Brooklyn's 65th Precinct and its criminals.
Brooklyn's Finest is directed by American filmmaker Antoine Fuqua, of Training Day, Tears of the Sun, King Arthur, and Shooter previously. The screenplay was written by first-time feature screenwriter Michael C. Martin. This first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and was eventually picked up by Overture Films. Brooklyn's Finest will hit limited theaters starting on March 5th, 2010. Look good?

"It looks intense as hell and packed with lots of action, despite being an indie flick." Overture Films also released Righteous Kill. It also had a good trailer and we all know how that one turned out.

doesn't look "packed with lots of action" to me. just a bunch of people waving around guns and yelling really loud....But I honestly think it looks great. Antoine Fugua is almost always a sure win. and that cast is really amazing.

Looks pretty good trailer-wise. I did enjoy Training Day. But who knows. I won't jump out to grab a look at this anytime soon.

Good to see Wesley Snipes do a movie that's not going straight to video this decade. He has been forgotten as a good actor. After Blade 3 I gave up! This looks like a mixture of Sugar Hill, New Jack City, Training Day, and King of New York.

Finally, a movie where I don't have to sadly shake my head at Gere and think, " WTF? Your'e better than this crap". Hawke, not a big fan, but it looks like he may prove me wrong in this. Glad to see Snipes back. Having Cheadle involved snares it for me. Although I must say, if I were him I wouldn't consider Hotel For Dogs an accomplishment.

@20 : Ya I hadn't realized it til you just said something, but I've missed Wesley Snipes. One of my favorite actors back in the day and he hasn't done anything for theaters. Trailer looks good, nicely put together. It got me pumped up for 2min. Don Cheadle is the only one I don't enjoy as an actor, hope he doesn't screw up his part as Rhodey in Iron Man 2.

Ethan Hawke looks the same way as he did in Training Day... same stupid look and everything... saving the goddamn world.

Could be good. The last half of the trailer kind of seemed cliche. I'm confused as to that tattoo on Richard Gere's neck or whatever that is

Dan W I believe that is blood on Gere's neck, no tattoo.

I didn't read the description of the movie before watching this trailer & the first thing I thought was that it looked like an unofficial sequel to Training Day. I was doubtful with one of the focuses being on Gere (really? They couldn't find anyone better?), but this looks pretty good.

looks like a good time... but I am also with Travis #6.. I am concerned with it being another Overture film and with Fuqua, who has been hit or miss, that we could be in for another 'great action, hideous dialogue cop drama'
Dusty on Dec 4, 2009
43
from the director of training day? DUH! looks like a sequel as #35 so aptly put it. Ethan Hawke is back as a NY cop and the NYPD is bad, or corrupt, as ever! get excited folks! antoine fuque should have got denzel to come back as well just to keep it all in the family. nevertheless ill redbox it just for the excessive violence and sex and bad language because thats why i watch these movies.
