Must Watch: First Glorious Clash of the Titans Teaser Trailer!
by Alex Billington
November 10, 2009
Source: Yahoo
Warner Bros has debuted the official trailer for Louis Leterrier's Clash of the Titans remake starring Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Pete Postlethwaite, and plenty of other great actors. This is a very short teaser trailer, but it really packs a punch. No wait, scratch that, this packs more that a frickin' punch, damn! It looks so epic and awesome. Sure, they've gone CGI and aren't using classic Ray Harryhausen effects, but it still looks good. This is exactly what I wanted the Clash of the Titans remake to look and feel like. And I dig that rock song, too, it fits perfectly. Without further ado, watch this now!
Watch the teaser trailer for Louis Leterrier's Clash of the Titans:

Follows Perseus and his quest to battle Medusa and the Kraken in order to save the Princess Andromeda.
Clash of the Titans is directed by French filmmaker Louis Leterrier, of Unleashed, Transporter 2, and The Incredible Hulk previously. The screenplay was originally written by Lawrence Kasdan (Raiders of the Lost Ark) then later revised by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi (both of Crazy/Beautiful, The Tuxedo, Aeon Flux). This is a remake of Desmond Davis' original 1981 classic movie of the same name. Warner Brothers will be bringing Clash of the Titans to regular and 3D theaters everywhere starting on April 2nd. Still excited?

"Titans Will Clash" is the tagline for CLASH OF TEH TITANS? well, what should we have expected from a retread movie? Think I"ll go play God of War instead.

P.S. Great trailer. I was worried about the song choice, but it sounds much better as an instrumental version. The lyrics would have killed it.

That music was crazy. Sounded kinda like SOAD, but obviously it's not them. Anyone who knows care to let us in on the artist? As far as the movie goes, it does look like it'll have some decent action, and I can't think of how they could really screw up something that seems this 'simple' to remake / update, but I am REALLY worried about it. The guys who reworked it worked on pretty shite films, though the director isn't all that bad. I am really terrified that they tried to add things to it or sex it up or something. The beauty of the original was that it was great for kids, even though it wasn't really aimed at them directly. I watched it when I was a kid, and seeing something decapitated was pretty intense for me back then, but they didn't do it in an over-the-top violent sort of way. I hope the original has that same sort of goal, but looking at this I'm thinking they shot for a hard R and not even a PG13. I guess the original is still there for the younger kids to watch... I wonder if the original actors will have cameos in there somewhere...

This trailer is amazing, the scenes shown along with the music have me really hype for this. With this and Avatar, Sam Worthington has redeemed himself in my eyes, Terminator: Salvation is almost forgotten.

I guess the original is still there for the younger kids to watch… Squiggly_P on Nov 10, 2009 ------------ The director said this one would be one the whole family could watch. After the trailer I don't see how.

Loved the trailer, Hate Worthington...but hope this really keeps the plot rich from the 81' film version. The song is an instrumental version of The Used song The Bird and the Worm...to be quite honest, the song fit the trailer almost perfectly... But once you hear the song with lyrics, its totally different, still same riffs and all. Great song, and even BETTER trailer.
Lucas N on Nov 10, 2009

Only complaints would be making it look a little too much like 300. And it has that 300-esque March release date. But whatever. I doubt I'll see it in the theatre, and they are really playing up the giant scorpions.

The added rock music in the trailer is purely a marketing gimmick to get the kids to take interest I guess, I doubt (hope!) its going to be in this film....that aside, I cant wait until March!

20, I disagree. It didn't work at all and if anything, Sam W. was the only actor that kept Terminator Salvation watchable to a degree. If you wanna use 'real' music they should go with NIN (just like in 300...'just like you imagine"). But this generic rock emo shit is just lame..and if you say you dig this stuff then well... you don't know what good rock is. 😉

What a horrible trailer, it imo has just ruined the marketing campaign for this movie. What a bunch of whiny & bitchy movie fans. Seriously whah a little... Somebody call the whahmbulance! Seriously, a summary of the complaints: The marketing music a. too much rock b. not enough rock c. not period Too much CGI Not enough CGI Sam Worthington is a crappy actor Louis Leterrier is a crappy director But I've still got high hopes for this movie. RETARDED REACTION. You want an action movie, they make what looks to be an AMAZING action movie. You want them to keep the mythology alive, they leave in the gods, monsters and titans. You want them to have a hot chick and keep it sexy, they oblige. And so much bitching. Shame. This movie looks terrific, I think I haven't been this excited for a movie since 300. The music fit the feel of the preview. but maybe they'll bomb it. Who knows. But to say the movie is already crap and you've seen exactly 1 minute of it. Super lame.

Dave its a teaser, teaser are only here to give you a taste of the film and of course it going to show action. And yes its a remake of the 1980's film. I don't know what the problem is, is the very first teaser, of a film and yes its like 300 and Watchman, but the trailer editor saw that those two trailer were met with success, so of course they would edit this in a similar fashion. this film is in the same veing as 300, but its not about 300 spartans, yes the music was a bad choice but the rest was just fine. At least wait until the theatrical trailer to judge the entire film.

I agree with another poster, the tagline of TITANS WILL CLASH is just extremely obnoxious and if the stupid guitar playing didn't scare me away from watching this movie, it would probably be the extremely cliche cgi action-shot montage... movies that overhype themselves end up clashing epically with the ground and their titanic weight seems to take many with it because if a movie with a high budget goes down, it's taking a few million with it and burning the hard-earned money of you moviegoers with it. God of War is a fun game and to say that I would rather play god of war again than spend my money on such a horribly advertised movie is not a statement that should cause any question of my love for mythology, but rather is message to whoever made this god-awful trailer that they failed to garner even the slightest bit of interest in me. I don't think clash of the titans even needs a remake.

That looked dreadfully generic -- the music, the CGI, the overall feel of the film. Mindless. Cliched. Boring. This is what happens when you throw too much money at a potentially good idea.

Here I'll save you a couple bucks on the movie. Cue your ipod on whatever "epic" song floats your boat, shake up a 2 liter of your favorite soft drink, open cap and press play. Woah! Epic! Kicks Ass! Wahoo! Wait? What? On second thought that idea only lasts 15 to 20 seconds tops. Go see your movie to get your 2 hours worth. Both are lame and flat once the initial "pop" is over. No matter, another one will come along before your Ritalin wears off. My only fear for the Millenial generation is that your midlife crisis' will consist of grief that all your nostalgia is lame remakes of somone else's with now dated CGI and stars and starlets lumpy, saggy, rehabbed, and on reality shows.

Whoa! I got so hyped up watching this trailer. Looks awesome. Technology advancement will do marvels for this movie. The 1981 version was so mechanical; but advanced for it's time. EXCITED ABOUT SEEING MEDUSA AND ESPECIALLY THE KRAKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also anticipating PRINCE OF PERSIA. AND FINALLY GOD OF WAR III(GAME). Hopefully GOW movie is in the works!!

They are witches the "blind creatures", #115, it's probably the same creature maker, love the trailer think they will do a great job at the remake, I hate remakes by the way but this looks like it has hope for a good run in the theatres, which will be nice the only thing thats making any money right now is Avatar in 3D, I know I start the movies! and I get to watch this preview at least 6 times a day and I'm still not sick of it. And Sam Worthington is bloody handsome. I really hope the owl Bubo is in there too it just wouldn't be the same w/out him! LOVE Medusa can't wait to "see" her!

LOVED the original film - major classic. I'm stoked that they're using cutting-edge CGI to update it and take this epic fantasy into the stratosphere. As for the rock music in the trailer - it works for me, even though I know it won't be in the film itself. Definitely gets the adrenaline going. This is one of the best movie trailers I have ever seen. For all of you who haven't even seen the film and are already certain it sucks - try watching it first before you critique it. Better yet, don't go. I don't want you in the ticket line in front of me, or sitting next to me in the theater. I can't wait for this film to ROCK me - yeah baby!!
