Must Watch: First Trailer for New Heist Movie Armored

Sony has debuted the first trailer for a new heist thriller called Armored starring Columbus Short, Matt Dillon, Jean Reno, Laurence Fishburne, Milo Ventimiglia, and Skeet Ulrich. I love a good heist movie and from the looks of it, Armored should be quite entertaining. It seems to be both a bit comical and a bit thrilling, and I'm not opposed to that kind of mix, especially with the cast that they've rounded up. It really does look like some solid early fall entertainment. I'm not sure about Nimród Antal's directing just yet, but at least it has the cast and it has the story, and that's what counts the most for now. Check this out below!

A crew of officers at an armored truck company risk their lives when they embark on the ultimate heist… against their own company. Armed with a seemingly fool-proof scheme, the men plan on making off with a fortune. But when an unexpected witness interferes, the plan quickly unravels and all bets are off.
Armored is directed by Hungarian filmmaker Nimród Antal, of the award winning film Kontroll as well as Sony's Vacancy previously. The screenplay was written by first-time writer James V. Simpson. Screen Gems will be debuting Armored in theaters everywhere on September 18th later this year. Anyone interested?

holy crap! SKEET ULRICH is the awesomesist name ever. I agree, with this cast and this story, the directing is completely irrelevant until the movie is released. I'm not sure about this director either. A foreigner telling a story about how bad US banks are? Maybe he should have made a movie about Hungaria's banks first? I'm sure they're hands aren't clean in all this! I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't like the idea of a big bank taking away the house of a working man, especially since his job is keeping all their money safe, but even so...

It's great to see a good cast in a good low-budget action. Didn't know you could still do it!

@6 "I'm not sure about this director either. A foreigner telling a story about how bad US banks are?... I mean, don't get me wrong..." Actually, you got you wrong. The director was born in Los Angeles and is American.

Was that a 2.5 minute film, I don't think I'll even bother watching it when it's on cable, do they make these trailers for idiots who need to know exactly and by exactly I mean exactly what to expect before going to the cinema?

I like heist movies, so I'll give this a look. Can't go wrong casting Jean Reno either. He's a solid actor.

Well, It looks pretty mediocre to me. Like one of those "Ooh! Big "Ocean's 11" twist at the end" Kinda movies that think they are being smart and clever by having some "Twist ending". I'll probably see it, but it does not look that special though.

This looks awesome! I'm getting realy tired of all the smug Ocean's 11-style perfectly executed heist movies - this film looks to be giving the genre a shake-up. The trailer is freaking intense, and the cast is superb. Really looking forward to it.

Wow, they gave away everything... what a fucking dumb trailer man. It's like all the mainstream reviews of late giving away movie plots.

They give away too much in the trailer, but I love Fishburne and Ulrich, so I'll go see it.

Wow! This looks cool!! Lets hope Nimrod Antal kicks some ass this time after the Vacancy nonsense.... which was a huge letdown after the brilliant Kontroll!!

James V. Simpson wrote the script. It's his story they're making it from... I read an early draft a while back. Expect an intense film in the vein of HEAT.
