Must Watch: New Full-Length Official Trailer for Whiteout

Although we showed you a teaser trailer for Whiteout a few weeks back, you really need to watch this new trailer (thanks to IGN for debuting it). Whiteout stars Kate Beckinsale as U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko who ends up investigating the first murder ever on Antarctica. I wasn't sure what we'd end up seeing go down in this movie (or who murdered who) - but as you can get a glimpse of in this trailer, there is something very interesting going on here. I don't want to start venturing into the territory of aliens or monsters or anything like that, but this is definitely a huge step up from that last trailer and it has certainly caught my interest.
This was originally set to be released in theaters last year, but Warner Bros delayed it until later this year.
Watch the full trailer for Dominic Sena's Whiteout:
Carrie Stetko (Kate Beckinsale) is a lone U.S. Marshal assigned to Antarctica whose investigation of the continent's first murder draws her into a shocking mystery. Now, with only three days until winter, Carrie must solve the crime before Antarctica is plunged into darkness and she is stranded with the killer.
Whiteout is directed by ex-music video director Dominic Sena, of Gone in Sixty Seconds and Swordfish previously. The screenplay was written by brothers Jon and Erich Hoeber as well as brothers Carey and Chad Hayes (House of Wax, The Reaping). This is an adaptation of Greg Rucka and Steve Lieber's graphic novel of the same name. Warner Brothers will finally release Whiteout in theaters on September 11th.

I think the monster in this movie is nature. We'll see.

When the words 'off the chart' are used in a film I can never take it seriously.

This trailer deviates from the notion of a murder mystery. seems like the producers or director can't decide if this is a natural disaster type of movie or murder mystery.

There are no supernatural elements in the comic book (as it may seems from this trailer).

Good followup from the previous trailer. Looks like a downed space exploration bringing back something it shouldn't. Kate's super hot. I'm sure she'll do fine. The voiceover is the same guy who does the "Heroes" commercials.

Whiteout is directed by ex-music video director Dominic Sena, of Gone in Sixty Seconds and Swordfish previously.... That's all I need to know. Two more things: 1. Don LaFontaine's voice is sorely missed in trailers. 2. Along with that Bermuda Triangle, yet another movie to rip off an X-Files storyline.

Hm. I'd gotten a nice little noir feeling from the teaser trailer, so I'm a bit disappointed that they seem to be taking the film in a completely different more Action-like direction. The premise still intrigues me very much.

It's an interesting twist on a "horror" movie imo, although it's name, while fitting, sounds odd. Since a blackout is when you can't remember anything, shouldn't a whiteout be when you have perfect recollection of something?

This looks pretty interesting....it reminds me a bit of an X-File episode/movie.

I was strongly reminded of "The Last Winter". But this looks a lot more intense, and hopefully won't leave me with a "Wtf..really?!?" ending. Plus, I love Kate, she is awesome.

That picture of Kate with the glock is hot. And like Alex said the introduction of whatever is under ground made me more interested in the movie

I don't know....it seems like a tease movie! First starting off with the "guys love it but totally uneccessary" shot of Kate in the shower....followed by a trailer of a lot of quick clips of "STUFF" but nothing substantial. One of those movies where you spend the whole time thinking, "What's About to Happen??" and then when the credits roll you go..."That Was It?????"

Yes. Perhaps I'm biased (as most guys probably are) but I'll see pretty much anything with Beckinsale in it. She really doesn't make bad movies. She's capable of action, horror, drama, comedy. Aside from being hot she's a fairly under rated actress in my opinion, and she has a knack for picking movies that don't look good on first glance but have substance to them (ie: Underworld, Vacancy, Laurel Canyon). With that said I doubt this is going to be any kind of big blockbuster film. Just another good Beckinsale flick that really wouldn't garner much attention without her appeal. She needs a hit though because her star has faded a bit (2 small films that very few people saw -Snow Angels, and Nothing But the Truth).

I find it funny that a trailer 2:11 minutes long spent a full 3 seconds early on to show you Kate might get naked. Not that I'm complaining. She's one of the few starlets in Hollywood that shows off her attributes on a semi-regular basis. So come to the theater for Action, Horror, stuff that's really cold and maybe boobies!

That quick shower scene is the most blatantly dumb and awesome thing in the whole trailer

Wouldnt it be cool if this was like The Abyss? Maybe there is no killer except themselves, id actually think that an Abyss type of plot would be much better than if there was a living monster/creature in the film.

If its faithful to the comic then there isnt any monster. Its a pretty decent comic and a really interesting idea but the trailer definitely trys to make you think that something more than meets the eye is going on.
