[Rec] 2 Teaser Trailer

Another second new shorter, crazier teaser trailer for [Rec] 2 has arrived courtesy of Twitch. We featured the first announcement teaser for this back in early June and it received quite an overwhelming response. I didn't even know there were that many fans of [Rec] out there? Anyway, this new teaser does feature a bit more footage, but not too much. Honestly, this is all I need to see to be convinced to check this out. Better that we see less from this. Oh and there's an awesome new website to check out as well: With that, I don't think there's much more I need to say about this teaser besides watch out, it's freaky!

Watch the first teaser trailer for [Rec] 2:

While you're at it, you might as well pick up the original [Rec] on DVD (via Amazon), as it was just finally officially released by Sony a few weeks ago. This looks like a direct sequel to the original horror cult classic.

[Rec] 2 is both written and directed by Spanish filmmakers Jaume Balagueró (The Dark, Fragile) and Paco Plaza (Second Name, Werewolf Hunter), who worked together to direct the first [Rec]. In addition to Balagueró and Plaza, writer Manu Díez worked on this screenplay as well. [Rec] 2 is shot and ready to go, but doesn't have a US distributor yet. We'll let you know when or if it plays at any film festivals this year.

muchos zombies

I wasn't as freaked out as the first Rec trailer. This is just a teaser though. Still pretty creepy.

It doesn't need a US distributor, it will be remade before this is even out. What's with the guy trying to repel zombie boy with the crucifix? And spider zombie running along the roof? Are they more like possessed evil monsters? The Spanish do love a bit of the Jesus, also The Dark, which was an amazing film, dealt with some pretty heavy evil shit too.

It was announced last month that [REC] 2 will be playing the Toronto International Film Festival in September as part of their Midnight Madness programme.

kinda reminds me of Quarentine...hope it doesn't suck like that one did.

Seductive Flamingo on Aug 3, 2009

Seductive Flamingo are you having a laugh?

Crapola on Aug 3, 2009

#7 thats because Quaretine copied of [Rec].

@5, i doubt it. Rec was out a long time before hollywood got their hands on it, yeah they turned it around quick, but it was still out long enough before. Rec is a brilliant film, i watched it back to back with The Orphanage which is also brilliant. I am sure Rec2 can live up to the geek hype!

Stuart Mellor on Aug 3, 2009

tuscan raider alright ...

lostarc on Aug 3, 2009

#7 that's cause Quarantine is a remake of REC 1.

ZzFDKzZ on Aug 3, 2009

Rec 1 was simply awesome...zombies in an apartment building, who knew such a setting could be so intriguing.

Matt Suhu on Aug 3, 2009

@7 lol. This is why I hate Hollywood remakes of original foreign films.

JimD on Aug 3, 2009

#2 good catch that's totally a tuskin raider. and im stoked!!! loved the first, loved the remake and can not wait to watch this one.

DoomCanoe on Aug 3, 2009

Quarrantine was a remake of the original [REC] This looks badass.

1001 on Aug 4, 2009

this looks good. and #7.........quarantine didn't suck. it's similar to rec and delivered some crazy action. i will admit that the first 30 minutes (or quarantine) were slow

dan on Aug 4, 2009

nice teaser. I can't wait. 🙂

dave13 on Aug 4, 2009

#17 - Quarantine did suck. It's a boring tedious remake in which absolutely nothing new is brought to the story. The first 30 minutes of [rec] are not slow at all. It made the film more like a real documentary and in turn makes everything that follows that much more frightening. Yay for not raping original movies.

Another reason why [rec] is so good is because the director blacked out parts of the script from the actors. Some of them had no idea of certain parts because the director wanted real reactions out of them. It was a great idea.

Mike G. on Aug 4, 2009

Yeah more zombies!!!

Sancho on Aug 4, 2009

Still looks good, but it didn't show much of anything that was different than the first trailer. I haven't seen Rec1, but Quarantine was fucking awful... so maybe I should just forget I ever saw this.

[rec]? I nearly shit my pants. Looking forward to nearly shitting them again.

Sleepykid on Aug 4, 2009

Roger on Aug 4, 2009

@#14 The Departed was awesome... shut your face.

meatcarnage on Aug 9, 2009

Quarentine was way better than [Rec]1.
