Grown Ups Teaser Trailer

Now this is a comedy I can be excited about! It's that time of year again, when all the studios start releasing early teasers for their big summer movies. Sony has debuted the teaser trailer for Grown Ups tonight on Yahoo. You might remember hearing about this when it was announced - it's the ensemble comedy starring Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade, Salma Hayek, Steve Buscemi, Maria Bello, and Maya Rudolph - just about every comedic actor out there. There's really not much to this, just a few quick scenes, but it's a great intro that's definitely made me more excited for this. Check it out below!

Thirty years after their high school graduation, five friends reunite for a Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Grown Ups is directed by long-time comedy director Dennis Dugan, of You Don't Mess with the Zohan, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, The Benchwarmers, National Security, Saving Silverman, Big Daddy, Beverly Hills Ninja, and Happy Gilmore previously. The screenplay was co-written by Adam Sandler, Tim Herlihy (Bedtime Stories, Mr. Deeds), and Fred Wolf (Dickie Roberts, Without a Paddle). Sony is bringing Grown Ups to theaters everywhere starting on June 25th, 2010 next summer. Will be a good summer!

Oh the hell with it-- I want to see this.

lamb of pierre on Nov 12, 2009

Interesting! Very interesting.

John Doe on Nov 12, 2009

Meh, maybe.

FancyMonocle on Nov 12, 2009

Must Watch?! Come on Alex this teaser looks terrible! Date Night looks better than this!

Jeff on Nov 12, 2009

really? nothing in that trailer made me want to see this... looked like a kids movie with that slapstick i mean it could be good.. good concept, but it doesnt look good in that trailer to me

joey on Nov 12, 2009

Kevin James looks hilarious!! Let go of the rope! Let go of the rope! Great slapstick comedy, should be really funny, looking forward to this.

Internapse on Nov 12, 2009

this wasn't nearly as funny as the trailer for that steve carrell movie you posted yesterday and you said that looked like it would suck. then again, it's only a "teaser" right?

JimJim on Nov 12, 2009

#4 and #7 i completely. i didn't laugh once at this but i laughed throughout the Date Night trailer, yet this is a must watch and this site had no good things to say about Date Night. bull.

JP on Nov 12, 2009

i agree*

#4 #7 #8 - I'm sorry guys, I just don't feel the same way, and I'm certainly allowed to have an opinion. Date Night looked stupid, this looks funny, simple as that, we have different tastes. I don't know why, but I even expected the reactions to be like this... All I can say is that I just prefer the humor hear more than Date Night. Meh...

Alex Billington on Nov 12, 2009

funny, I'll see it. The Kevin James swing rope catastrophe was fucking hilarious!

xerxex on Nov 12, 2009

I have to honestly say that trailer is pretty dissapointing. First off I really dig everybody involved in this eventhough they have made some truly crappy films in the past. I still want to see this, but this looks like every other generic Adam Sandler comedy. I hate seeing him take this route again, but after that misfire known as Funny People I don't blame him. The guy has some serious acting chops, but he's never going to be able to prove it again, because people would rather see him do crap like this. Also to people who say that rope gag is funny did you not get enough of that in Paul Blart:Mall Cop ? 🙁

wrongturn687 on Nov 12, 2009

I thought Colin Quinn and Norm Mcdonald were in this thats why i was excited about this movie. But now eh not so much.

Me on Nov 12, 2009

ehhhhhhh. looks like every movie with a huge cast. Each is trying to overpower the other. It's not gonna be that great.

movie mike on Nov 12, 2009

Alex you have a shitty taste. LOL To me both Date Night and this look good.

JoJo on Nov 12, 2009

Funny, indeed! I'm there! 🙂

Spider on Nov 12, 2009

Where in the hell did this come from? This looks like an honest to god good comedy. i will see it. Also, high five to you Alex. Date Night looks freaking retarded. Can you say 'money mill'?

Angry Chief on Nov 12, 2009

To those who were baffled as to how Alex liked this trailer and not the Date Night trailer, some could come back at you and ask you how you liked the Date Night trailer but not this.

Jay Beezy on Nov 12, 2009

Yeah what the fuck, you guys are assholes towards Alex! He's entitled to his opinion. And he does have a little more credibility than you as he operates a successful film preview website and you don't. So cut him some slack! I got your back Billington!

Chew on Nov 12, 2009

Should I assume the giddy tone of this news item indicates it is an exercise in irony that's gone over our collective heads, or are you genuinely looking forward to a movie starring Sandler and Schneider?!

Mathieu on Nov 12, 2009

That doesn't look funny at all actually... is this a prank?

Syphous on Nov 12, 2009

#13 - adam sandler has NO acting ability- WTH are you talking about? #15- how can a guy with your name ("movie" mike) NOT know about "the big chill"? you should just be called "mike". this looks like it'll be worth a watch. (i thought the date night trailer was good too) i'll be seeing it primarily for rock, spade, schnieder, and james. these movies where the characters reunite and meet each others families (after years of them not seeing each other) usually have some funny sequences. i don't see why eveyone is fighting over which movie (date night or grownups) is better. both look ok but neither looks particularly superior over the other.

beavis on Nov 12, 2009

I really like all these guys, but this trailer looks awful. I mean really, really bad.

darthwhitey on Nov 12, 2009

what a silly looking film

jimmi allen on Nov 12, 2009

Those silly bastards.

Scagginsvolley on Nov 12, 2009

It looks like it could be very funny. Adam Sandler has to redeem himself after that god awful piece of crap "Funny people". How could he be a part of that? Ugh.

Silence on Nov 13, 2009

ZzZzZz... yup, Date Night looked more appealing and that movie doesn't even look that good. Ha! Fuck it, I don't care, I'll say it... this site is only good for the movie news and trailers. Most of the writing by these movie bloggers stink and yes, they also have shitty taste in film. Lastly, if you want to voice your opinion about something, at least do it in a professional way. Most of the time when Alex bitches about something it usually comes across like the writing of a 14 year old. #20 - Having your own film site DOES NOT mean credibility. The words "film critic" shouldn't even be used in the same sentence with some of these movie bloggers. Sorry to sound all pretentious, but most of the time it's these movie bloggers who are pretentious. Just because they run some website and spit lines about movies don't mean they know shit.

Golgo 13 on Nov 13, 2009

The comedy version of "Expandables" .

Wussupman on Nov 13, 2009

David Spade is always hilarious to me. I know they'll have a better trailer than this though. They have to otherwise, I can wait 2 yrs. to see it on cable. Same goes for date night. I have faith though that our cadre of comedians will amp up the comedy in this one.....fingers crossed.....

arjones on Nov 13, 2009

I'm with Alex. This could be really funny. But then this is only the teaser. It could go over the line and just be awful. Time will tell.

CatieLee on Nov 13, 2009

Alex, if you seriously believe THIS looks funny and Date Night looks "stupid", you need to have your keyboard taken away (if not have it smacked across the back of your head). Okay, I kid because I love. But least Date Night is evidently trying to make their cast match. Adam Sandler and...Salma Hayek? Kevin James and...Maria Bello? Did they put this together in five days? This looks like no more than a pathetic excuse for Adam Sandler to help his struggling actor friends like Spade and Schneider get some work. Oh, and seeing 25% of this trailer spend time showing a man fall out of a tire swing just goes to show Dennis Dugan's jokes have an objective to hurt more than heartfelt.

WhatISmynameanyway? on Nov 13, 2009

God I hope this is R rated.

S on Nov 13, 2009

anything with David Spade in it means I'm there for sure

Colt on Nov 13, 2009

#33 i hear ya there this trailer was god awful, but the cast is amazing so ill see it.

DoomCanoe on Nov 13, 2009

Why is this being compared to Date Night? Oh wait it mkes sense lets take two completely different films and compare them because Billington said one is funnier than the other, now I get it.

Xerxex on Nov 13, 2009

trailer aweful like kissing old people. dont go there!

bassbin on Nov 13, 2009

#28 I'm pretty sure Alex was invited to take a tour of the Disney Studios to see how their movies are made and give a little preview of The Frog Princess. He sounds pretty legit to me. In any case, I'm not about to go bash him for voicing his opinion on his own site.

Dude on Nov 13, 2009

I will watch this because to me all Adam Sandler films are great because you can just tell that there having fun making the movies ( it shows on the screen ) and thats what comedys should be about, F U N.

Dan on Nov 13, 2009

Man, no matter what site you go to there are always people without a life bitching. I think this movie looks awesome! Love all the actors(except Chris Rock) Date Night looks like shit, for crying out loud it has that loser Steve Carrel....

blackgreensoul on Nov 13, 2009

Hey #28 Golgo then do us a favor and leave the site.

xerxex on Nov 13, 2009

A lot of comedy talent, i like.

Fisherr on Nov 13, 2009

the movie has just lost me

TRE on Nov 13, 2009

#40, you just contradicted yourself. So it's a complete crime to give an honest opinion (no matter how unkind it might be), yet you're not too soon to show your negative impression of Date Night? Oh, and I fail to see how Steve Carrell's the loser being a Golden-Globe winner and all. And what has the cast of Grown Ups got to show? Let's see... a Razzie-Award win for Worst Actor in Big Daddy, a Razzie-Award win for Worst Actor in Deuce Bigalow: European Gigalo, Razzie-Award nominee for Worst Supporting Actor in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry and Worst Supporting Actress nominee for Wild Wild West!!!

WhatISmynameanyway? on Nov 14, 2009

both movies (this and date night) just wanted to be funny... but that is all they forget to make sense that is what makes them a bit torturing..... at the highest 3 from 5 stars for both movies , AT THE HIGHEST actually the old dogs is incomparably funnier than these two

pj on Nov 14, 2009

@44 No contradiction dipshit, meant it that way, to be funny.......

blackgreensoul on Nov 14, 2009

also, that is my "honest opinion". So am I not allowed one? And if I don't like someone, I don't like them. I could care less what awards the person got, I didn't give it to him. The actors of Grown Ups(except Chris Rock) have made me laugh countless time, where as Steve, hasn't. It's my "honest opinion". Talk about contradiction. You whine about me not liking Steve Carrell, then you go on to say similar things about the others.....

blackgreensoul on Nov 14, 2009

a hell yea should satisfy

sam on Nov 18, 2009

I agree with #28, because he is spot on, and Golgo 13 is a badass.

Luminaire on Nov 18, 2009

Anyways, I do find it odd anyone can find this "funny." James is decent on King of Queens, Sandler was alright when his humor was new(I honestly can't stand it now), I'm betting $100 Rock will have some black/white joke, Schneider is just awful, ...what the hell so is Spade. This is probably targeted at the same people who would waste their money on Paul Blart. Ugh..

Luminaire on Nov 18, 2009

Looks hilarious can't wait

LC on Dec 30, 2009

Yeah... I think this is a redbox rental...possibly. Don't think I'd pay to see this in theaters. I'm kind of over this type of movie. This movie being like the 40 year old Virgin, it being "the average guy (or guys) with a problem in their live(s)."
