Sony Pictures Classics has finally debuted a US trailer for Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus over on Yahoo today. I already saw this wonderful film a few times while in Cannes (read my review) and enjoyed it quite a bit. I think Gilliam is back at his best with this, although I'm not sure if I'd call it one of my favorites. Either way, it's a great movie, with a great cast - not only including Heath Ledger and his three replacements, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell - but all the other cast members are fantastic as well. It's a very fantastical film with plenty of very trippy scenes. See the trailer below & enjoy.

This first showed at the Cannes Film Festival and is being distributed by Sony Pictures Classics here in the US. I don't know what the heck that is about but I don't care. It looks more creative than 99% of the movie's I've seen in the last 6 months. Looks like one of the few movies that actually deserves the tagline "mind dazzling."

It kind looks like it will be better that they had different people fill in for Ledger.

# 20 you're alone on that one, Heath is using his normal voice and Depp is I think using an english accent.

don't make assumptions, xerxex. ledger did use his "joker voice" when he introduce "dr.... parnassus!" can't speak for depp though, the music was too loud to hear him. looks good, gilliam is awesome. the "candy cg scenes" remind me of his animations for monty python

wow, that looks amazing!!! i thought it looked a lot like "Children of Paradise" (one of Gilliams favorite films that tends to peak its head in many of his movies) but this trailer looks nothing like that (although I see a few of its elements here). Its great to finally see something ORIGINAL and IMAGINATIVE!!! cant wait to see it! (god I hope there are no transforming robots or vampires in this!)

I feel like changing actors would be distractive. I see Joker in Heath Ledger and Jack Sparrow in Johnny Depp.

"Nothing's permanent. Not even death". Is it just me or does it sound like he is talking about Ledger. Maybe it's just my imagination, since im imagining this movie to be a tribute to Heath Ledger. I cant wait to see this movie. It has the best cast of any movie that i can remember. Johnny Depp is my all time favourite, Heath Ledger became an instant legend from the Dark Knight, Colin Farrell has been steadily rising to my favourites and Jude Law is an excellent actor. Having those 4 play the same character is something i wanna witness. I mean, they all have to become 1 person, which is something I dont think has ever been done.
