Must Watch: Trailer for Peter Billingsley's Couples Retreat
Mike and Trent are back! Universal has debuted the first trailer for Couples Retreat on Apple today. Just looking at the cast, I'd say this is the ensemble comedy of the year. Here are the four couples: Kristen Bell and Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau and Kristin Davis, Vince Vaughn and Malin Akerman, and Faizon Love and Kali Hawk. This seems like one hell of a wild, quirky, fun comedy, what more can I say? It also looks a lot like Forgetting Sarah Marshall but with four couples instead of just one. Upping the ante, so to say. I'm certainly looking forward to this. And don't forget, A.R. Rahman is scoring Couples Retreat as well. Enjoy!

A comedy about four couples who head to a tropical resort for a vacation. While one of them is there to work on their marriage, the others fail to realize that participation in the resort's therapy is not optional.
Couples Retreat is directed by first-time director Peter Billingsley, who went on to become a producer for Vince Vaughn after starring as the bunny-costume-wearing Ralphie in A Christmas Story. This is now his directorial debut. The screenplay was written by Jon Favreau himself, the current director of Iron Man 2 and past screenwriter of Swingers. Universal is bringing Couples Retreat to theaters on October 9th.

Well, other than looking funny, it's directed by RALPHIE FROM A CHRISTMAS STORY! That there is reason enough to see the movie... apart from it looking good...

I'll be seeing this for sure. My only gripe is that the trailer didn't show anything hilarious. I hope that was a poor edit job over actual content of the film. It looks like it's going to be more heartfelt then laugh out loud funny. With that stellar cast and the tried and true formula of a Jon Favreau script with he and Vince Vaughn in front of the camera....i really hope Couples Retreat is good.

I think the cast will make it alright, but I hope the trailer didn't show the funniest parts of the movie, though... cuz they weren't hilarious. It will probably end up being a "cheating/ big wang/ caught in the act" funny moments movie. I'd like to see some more footage before I decide...

Noooope. The ensemble comedy of the year is The Hangover. This will be funny. But not as funny.

i'll see it cuz of the cast but is anyone else getting a vibe that this is like the first 15 minutes of Along Came Poly? like on the beach with fighting couples and the yoga instructor has basically the same role as the scuba guy?

@14 What the fuck do you mean "it should b better than forgetting sarah marshall"??? That movie was fucking great all over the place. While I admit this trailer has me intrigued, there is nothing I saw as of yet that has me thinking "better than Forgetting Sarah Marchall"......kill yourself.
