Good news for fans of Derrick Comedy - they've finally announced release plans for Mystery Team! We featured the trailer for this back in July, but if you really weren't into that, we've also got an awesome new short that the guys made specifically to show at Comic-Con. I laughed my ass off watching this short and thankfully they've put it on YouTube for your viewing pleasure (it's so damn good - please watch it). But let's get back to the release plans, damnit! Mystery Team will start hitting theaters in August and September. It all kicks off at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas on August 27th with a special live premiere event.
Hope you enjoyed that short. That's just a taste of the kind of humor found in Mystery Team. It's not for everyone, but I love their comedy. Following its premiere in Austin at the end of August, Mystery Team will open in select theaters in Georgia on September 4th, Florida on September 11th, Iowa on September 18th, Missouri and Kansas on September 25th and "nationwide" in October. Head over to the official website for more details. We're not exactly sure what nationwide means, but I have a feeling that at least means New York, Los Angeles, and a few other select cities in-between. Support indie films and see this in theaters.

Good lord this was very campy and horribly scripted. I will pass on this and pass even on the DVD.

I met those guys at Comic Con after I couldn't get into their screening of Mystery Team (it filled up). They were great. Got their autographs and had a nice chat. I predict great things from them.

This is miserable. Telegraphed comedy, and decades old gags. A condom mistaken for a balloon? Really? That's fresh.

This is a complete rip off of Cartoon Networks Venture Bros. Not amused.
