MOVIE TRAILERS
New Official Trailer for Denzel Washington's The Book of Eli
by Alex Billington

Warner Brothers has just debuted a second full-length trailer for The Book of Eli today on Yahoo. We last debuted the teaser trailer for this during Comic-Con back in July. The Book of Eli stars Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, Mila Kunis, Michael Gambon, Ray Stevenson, and Tom Waits. This still looks as awesome as it did a few months ago - I've got high hopes for it, which is odd for a mid-January movie. It's got a lot of action, I love the gritty, western style of it, and I love everything else about this, especially the cast. It should be pretty damn fun and I can't wait to kick of 2010 with a great movie like this. Anyway, check it out below!
Watch the official trailer for The Book of Eli:
You can also watch the teaser trailer for The Book of Eli in High Definition on Yahoo
The Book of Eli is directed by Detroit-born brothers Allen and Albert Hughes, who previously brought us Dead Presidents, American Pimp, and From Hell, but haven't made anything since 2001. The screenplay was written by newcomer Gary Whitta, who is also attached to write the Akira live-action remake and The Defenders coming up. Warner Brothers will be bringing The Book of Eli to theaters everywhere starting on January 15th early next year. We hope it's as good as this official trailer looks! Will you be seeing this?

Quite enjoyed it, the fight scenes are a bit like wrestling matches, kindo staged looking, but I think the story will be good.

Seems like an awesome action movie. Is the Book in question the Bible?

I'm worried about the cheese factor. On one hand it looks awesome, on the other hand it could easily be so cheesy and lame that it's just not enjoyable. And I also agree with #3, I hope this isn't some "only God can save us" crap.

Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman are so badass. "religious mumbo jumbo" ? Who cares if it's something religious? Don't down a movie just because it might possibly talk about things you don't necessarily don't believe in. Who knows what it is though. I can't wait to see it.

@#1 My thoughts exactly. At 2:05 it reminds me just like random places in the wasteland with highways in Fallout 3. While the scenery & the game share similar qualities I do not expect them to be the same which is fine. I cannot wait till The Book of Eli releases. After watching this trailer I expect good things. I'd like to see how well Mila Kunis does in this movie.

Holy crap that looked badass. And I agree that it is strange to have such high hopes for a movie coming out in January when thats usually studio dump month for a bunch of cash in crappy horror movies like One Missed Call. But, honestly there are alot of potentially great flicks coming out next January. Along with this movie we got Daybreakers which looks awesome from the trailer and the early reviews have been pretty solid aswell and we can't forget about Edge Of Darkness. I mean Mel Gibson with Martin Campbell directing just sounds like a wining combo to me.

All I'm saying is that if he's carrying the last bible or some type of religious text that would be a pretty lame premise. It has to be something more significant and meaningful to the times in which they live in. I'm sure no one cares about god or any of that after they survive an apocalypse. Now I don't know what that would be which is why I'm interested in finding out what the book entails. Which is why I want to see this movie.

Can yu spell FALLOUT3!!!! Denzel rockin it after some dumb train flick! Gary Oldman being less commissioner Gordon and more Evil villain of the year once again! And Mila Kunis...not being Kelso's duchie girl friend! This film is a good throw back to Mad Max style film!

after watching that, i really hope it has a strong script, because it has that post apocalyptic setting that we've, sadly, grown way to used to. if you want to understand how much of a true genre this sub-genre has become, check out six-string samurai. book of eli looks like six string meets western django, but with a bigger budget and better actors. and that they hide so much of the plot details (why does denzel have this book? is it what's IN it, or what's actually written? why the hell is a girl like mila kunis not a sex slave in a world like that? etc.) makes me even more worrisome. this movie will either be a 10 or a 2. and i'd like to think with denzel and gary and mila, it's a guarantee 10, but pelham, the unborn, and extract tell me they all know how to make bad choices, too.

Gorgeous looking movie. But Denzel and Oldman are the wrong people for this. And the trailer was poorly put together.

I'm really looking forward to this. It looks sort of like a combination of I Am Legend, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, and a classic Spaghetti Western.

I highly doubt his book will be religious in nature. Probably more to do with a way of curing some disease or a map to a better place or how to make clean water or something (I hope). Looks like it could be good.

#37 - Dan W You're a dicklicker who obviously knows nothing. #48 - alex Denzel doesn't look like he can kick @$$? You obviously have never seen Denzel Washington, he could kick your @$$ in 2 seconds. #51 - raquelswell How would you know that? Fool.
