The Book of Eli Trailer

Warner Brothers has just debuted a second full-length trailer for The Book of Eli today on Yahoo. We last debuted the teaser trailer for this during Comic-Con back in July. The Book of Eli stars Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, Mila Kunis, Michael Gambon, Ray Stevenson, and Tom Waits. This still looks as awesome as it did a few months ago - I've got high hopes for it, which is odd for a mid-January movie. It's got a lot of action, I love the gritty, western style of it, and I love everything else about this, especially the cast. It should be pretty damn fun and I can't wait to kick of 2010 with a great movie like this. Anyway, check it out below!

Watch the first official trailer for The Book of Eli from YouTube:

You can also watch the teaser trailer for The Book of Eli in High Definition on Yahoo

The Book of Eli is directed by Detroit-born brothers Allen and Albert Hughes, who previously brought us Dead Presidents, American Pimp, and From Hell, but haven't made anything since 2001. The screenplay was written by newcomer Gary Whitta, who is also attached to write the Akira live-action remake and The Defenders coming up. Warner Brothers will be bringing The Book of Eli to theaters everywhere starting on January 15th early next year. We hope it's as good as this official trailer looks! Will you be seeing this?

Can not wait. It's like Fallout: Denzel.

Cody on Sep 25, 2009

Yeah, I'll be seeing this in the theater.

RStewie on Sep 25, 2009

I'm wondering what exactly is in the book that could save everyone. I hope it's not some religious mumbo jumbo

absolute pupu....

GO2D2 on Sep 25, 2009

Quite enjoyed it, the fight scenes are a bit like wrestling matches, kindo staged looking, but I think the story will be good.

Crapola on Sep 25, 2009

kickass picture cannot wait.

cineprog on Sep 25, 2009

Looks cool. It makes me think of Fallout.

Luke on Sep 25, 2009

@ 3 and 9 You guys gonna see this for the potential philosophical breakthroughs it might contain.

Everything looks sick... Kinda glad the blade is crude not a samurai sword like once thought. Worth a good look.

wHiskey Tango... on Sep 25, 2009

Seems like an awesome action movie. Is the Book in question the Bible?

Vegegeeta-geeta on Sep 25, 2009

I'm worried about the cheese factor. On one hand it looks awesome, on the other hand it could easily be so cheesy and lame that it's just not enjoyable. And I also agree with #3, I hope this isn't some "only God can save us" crap.

Syphous on Sep 25, 2009

Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman are so badass. "religious mumbo jumbo" ? Who cares if it's something religious? Don't down a movie just because it might possibly talk about things you don't necessarily don't believe in. Who knows what it is though. I can't wait to see it.

Sabes on Sep 25, 2009

will i be seeing this?......HELL YEA! denzel makes a great "badass".

beavis on Sep 25, 2009

Vanessa Hudgens? WHY?! Nonetheless, awesome trailer.

Robbie on Sep 25, 2009

I like how it's thirty years since the collapse of civilization and everyone still has badass designer sunglasses...

ryan on Sep 25, 2009

NO. And lol at 26

Taylor on Sep 25, 2009

@#1 My thoughts exactly. At 2:05 it reminds me just like random places in the wasteland with highways in Fallout 3. While the scenery & the game share similar qualities I do not expect them to be the same which is fine. I cannot wait till The Book of Eli releases. After watching this trailer I expect good things. I'd like to see how well Mila Kunis does in this movie.

RZA Fan on Sep 25, 2009

#25 thats not Vanessa Hudgens its Mila Kunis

blaze on Sep 25, 2009

Denzel and Gary rock by nature, imagine both in a post apocalyptic movie.

Fisherr on Sep 25, 2009

Wait a minute is this...Fallout 3?! LOL

John Doe on Sep 25, 2009

WOW. Cannot wait!

Ben on Sep 25, 2009

Holy crap that looked badass. And I agree that it is strange to have such high hopes for a movie coming out in January when thats usually studio dump month for a bunch of cash in crappy horror movies like One Missed Call. But, honestly there are alot of potentially great flicks coming out next January. Along with this movie we got Daybreakers which looks awesome from the trailer and the early reviews have been pretty solid aswell and we can't forget about Edge Of Darkness. I mean Mel Gibson with Martin Campbell directing just sounds like a wining combo to me.

wrongturn687 on Sep 25, 2009

Looks pretty meh

Geoff on Sep 25, 2009

mila kunis is probably going to give me a mad boner during this movie.

matthew on Sep 25, 2009

Why do the words Mad Max keeping popping into my head?

Kevin on Sep 25, 2009

All I'm saying is that if he's carrying the last bible or some type of religious text that would be a pretty lame premise. It has to be something more significant and meaningful to the times in which they live in. I'm sure no one cares about god or any of that after they survive an apocalypse. Now I don't know what that would be which is why I'm interested in finding out what the book entails. Which is why I want to see this movie.

Dan W on Sep 25, 2009

Can yu spell FALLOUT3!!!! Denzel rockin it after some dumb train flick! Gary Oldman being less commissioner Gordon and more Evil villain of the year once again! And Mila Kunis...not being Kelso's duchie girl friend! This film is a good throw back to Mad Max style film!

Lazarus from Sparta!!!! on Sep 25, 2009

after watching that, i really hope it has a strong script, because it has that post apocalyptic setting that we've, sadly, grown way to used to. if you want to understand how much of a true genre this sub-genre has become, check out six-string samurai. book of eli looks like six string meets western django, but with a bigger budget and better actors. and that they hide so much of the plot details (why does denzel have this book? is it what's IN it, or what's actually written? why the hell is a girl like mila kunis not a sex slave in a world like that? etc.) makes me even more worrisome. this movie will either be a 10 or a 2. and i'd like to think with denzel and gary and mila, it's a guarantee 10, but pelham, the unborn, and extract tell me they all know how to make bad choices, too.

seanathan on Sep 26, 2009

after a trailer like that how can you not want to see this movie! seriously who ever cropped that together is god damn awesome at their job.

DoomCanoe on Sep 26, 2009

Looks like crap. Maybe after a few years i will see it on tv.

var2apo on Sep 26, 2009

Denzel Washington AND Gary Oldman? I'm so fucking there opening day!

Bry from Chi on Sep 26, 2009

harrison on Sep 26, 2009

Ramez on Sep 26, 2009

seriously, its fallout 3: denzel expansion. and i am so sold on this.

dave13 on Sep 26, 2009

the fight scenes on this one just look so crap i think i might have to throw up, i t looks like a good movie but denzel just does not look like he can kick ass, its a bit like on stage fighting scenes CRAP !

alex on Sep 26, 2009

Action movies are so much better when they star good actors. This looks good.

Bob Dylan on Sep 26, 2009

Pretty badass.

N on Sep 26, 2009

Gorgeous looking movie. But Denzel and Oldman are the wrong people for this. And the trailer was poorly put together.

raquelswell on Sep 26, 2009

I'm really looking forward to this. It looks sort of like a combination of I Am Legend, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, and a classic Spaghetti Western.

scm1000 on Sep 27, 2009

I highly doubt his book will be religious in nature. Probably more to do with a way of curing some disease or a map to a better place or how to make clean water or something (I hope). Looks like it could be good.

Vold on Sep 28, 2009

#37 - Dan W You're a dicklicker who obviously knows nothing. #48 - alex Denzel doesn't look like he can kick @$$? You obviously have never seen Denzel Washington, he could kick your @$$ in 2 seconds. #51 - raquelswell How would you know that? Fool.

SlashBeast on Sep 30, 2009

This reminds me of Fallout 3 with Denzel in it. I wonder if he'll have a companion named Dogmeat.

trailer looks awesome! should be the next matrix movie! niiiiiice and actiony. Ye. I can see it in my head.

michael w on Nov 10, 2009

Looks like a hell of a movie. Denzel Washington acting like a bad ass, reminds me of some of his great films like Training day and John Q. Cant wait to see it.

Dave on Jan 1, 2010

"The BOOK" is the Farmer's Almanac. Sorry to be a spoiler!

Mark on Jan 11, 2010

Hah! Just saw it. What a turkey-buzzard! It was all religion, and the Book has a cross on it, or a crescent moon,..... take your pick. Looked like Jimmy swaggert on Sunday. FIZzzzzlle.
