Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Trailer

Warner Brothers has debuted the final trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which will finally hit theaters in just three more months (it also got moved up two days to July 15th). At this point, we've seen so many trailers (at least five in total), that there isn't too much footage we haven't seen before, however this one is very well put together and much more thrilling than the last few. I'll gladly admit that it's probably one of the movies I'm most looking forward to this summer. Also, every time I see a trailer, I keep wondering how the heck it's PG, because it definitely doesn't look tame. See the final trailer below.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is again directed by British filmmaker David Yates, of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix previously, and is written by Steve Kloves, who also wrote the adaptations of Sorcerer's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, and Goblet of Fire, but did not write Order of the Phoenix. This is the sixth book in J.K. Rowling's immensely popular series. Warner Brothers will debut Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in theaters worldwide on July 15th this summer. Be there!

THAT was just inCREDIBLE! the epic scale was a thing of beauty, and I actually got so involved and excited that I teared up a little. Hearts racing. I'm not even THAT big a fan of Harry Potter and this looks great.

I REFUSE to watch anymore trailers!!! Enough is enough! I'll gladly wait until July 15 to dress up, wait in line, and savor every scene at the midnight showing. WB is spoiling us.

AbercrombieAndBitch on Apr 16, 2009

what was going on from 1:27-1:30?

wesley on Apr 16, 2009

Katie Bell is cursed by touching part of a necklace given to her (she was supposed to bring it to Dumbledore to kill him, not on her own will, she was being controlled). The scene though, for the trailer, looks in reverse.

Sam on Apr 16, 2009

Not amazed. Perhaps because I already know what happens. Still, I will watch it.

Brandon on Apr 16, 2009

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!! that was super epic. I didn't think they could out do the fight back trailer, they pumped out a couple months ago. but DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blake on Apr 16, 2009

that looks SICK! btw how on EARTH is this PG?!?

Torti on Apr 16, 2009

Then again, Jaws, Spaceballs, Star Wars and others were rated PG even though they had people being ripped in half and the f word. I realize that was a different era but I hope this could be the beginning of a more relaxed MPAA. Terminator Salvation defenitly has an R feel but will get a PG-13 rating. I know it's wishful thinking but I'd like to think the ratings system is going back to being fair.

Johnbo on Apr 16, 2009

malfoid (whatever the guy name is) gets a mission for the bad guys and harry gets a mission for the good guys. sounds like the departed with magic.

Darrin on Apr 16, 2009

Possibly the beast trailer yet. At any rate, it really looks like a great, great movie. Maybe bringing Steve Kloves back will bring us the best film yet. And if the trailer is an accurate rendering of what we'll see, the PG rating won't bother us at all. However, is it just me or do the ghouls or corspes or whatever (big fan of the book but I forget details look like rip-offs of Gollum?

Timothy on Apr 16, 2009

I see this trailer, and I wonder, how the heck are all these different scenes of different parts going to fit into one movie?????? I hope it's done well! 🙂

Susana on Apr 16, 2009

And who said transformers is going to be the big blockbuster of the year?!

Cory on Apr 16, 2009

I really want—nay, CRAVE—that this movie outdoes Transformers 2. I genuinely hope that the day .5-Prince comes out is officially the day Transformers 2 scuttles into obscurity only to surface again sometime next Thanksgiving. . . and hopefully with a Rifftrax short after.

Voice of Reason on Apr 16, 2009

So i dont get it, where was Ben Afleck?

Unseen on Apr 16, 2009

Even though I'm not a fan of Harry Potter, or reading any books or novels in general for that matter, I did however find this trailer to be quite amuzing. I'll give it a show.

nem on Apr 16, 2009

OK! this movie looks epic! I believe it was the departure of Steve Kloves that made the 5th suck.... IMO And with all this extra time, the editing must be at its best! If editing fails, a movie fails.... Or at least thats what my film teacher tells me all the time haha Excited! got the chiillss

i squealed like a lil girl when the trailer ended.... sooooooooooooooooooooooo super excited about this movie...maybe the move from november wasnt such a bad idea afterall ... this si going to set teh box office on fire come this summer... records beware... you are about to tumble... i wonder though how no one in the harry potter franchise has thought of shooting some key sequences in IMAX or making the movie 3d even... i believe it could work with this franchise especially something thats soooooooooo action packed like this... just a thought.

there is two parts to this a sequel...

luke on Apr 17, 2009

I hate hate hated Harry Potter. I wished the franchise would die out and never be heard from again. My wife decided to take drastic measures and unbeknownst to me, she collected the first 5 movies and decided to have a marathon for me. I watched them all in order and I'll be damned if I don't like them now. This trailer makes me want to watch this movie. I am looking forward to this, though not as much as Star Trek.

that guy on Apr 17, 2009

Absolutely awesome trailer, but they're putting out too many! I feel like I've seen almost every image from the film/book in just the trailers.

Tommy on Apr 17, 2009

DAMN! That was by far the best trailer yet! Tied everything together, can't wait!

K on Apr 17, 2009

Alright, So Im mildly impressed. I hope that the acting is actually bearable this time.

Keaton Gairns on Apr 18, 2009

This trailer is the best one I've seen for this franchise in a long time. I hope it's better than five and goes with the book more. I love Harry Potter but i'm so sick of slashed through watered down versions.

Niesha on Apr 18, 2009

wowowoowowowow that was the best trailer i have seen off all summer movies to date this will blow away the competition a HOME RUN all the way

alan on Apr 19, 2009

wtf? @ #20

daniel on Apr 19, 2009

ok let me just say that I'm way too pumped up for this movie BUT I REALLY wish my eyesight is just poor and the Inferi do not look like a hundred Gollums. Because if they do, I will not be able to take that scene seriously. 🙁

vanagwathiel on Apr 20, 2009

# 40 I watched the trailer in HD at Apple and, while they do bear a marked resemblance to Gollum they aren't Gollum. In the small version, without the detail, they look EXACTLY like him though. So, I'd say they look too similar, but not similar enough to really get more than a little irritated over. I wish they would have been more creative with the design of the INferi though.

Timothy on Apr 20, 2009

I can't wait til Snape bitch slaps Harry (with magic-LOL) at the end of HBP. I still call BS on OotP for having Harry look into Snape mind-come on give me a break this man's mind has not been broken into by the dark lord himself. Harry Potter is the man because he is not 'all that' he is not a totally awesome wizard, he is an everyman wizard-average kid. Thats what really pisses me off about these movies trying to make Harry into super wizard, when it is suppose to be a David and Goliath type story.

Sweeper on Apr 20, 2009

Okay, I tried to keep my mind off of harry potter so that I could handle the almost year long wait., but now I am so hyped I don't even want to sleep. lol. I can't WAIT to see this. 🙂 -Jaybear

Jaybear on Apr 20, 2009

watched the trailer over again after #40 comment. lol. they do look like a bunch of gollum, only their heads look a little thinner if that makes sense. As well as their bodies. Like a skinnier gollum if thats possible. Maybe built a little more streched out yet smaller.

Jaybear on Apr 20, 2009

Really cool! Never knew it would be so interesting! Think it'll be the best movie!

Sweety on Apr 21, 2009

Wow! That's the coolest trailer I've ever seen!

"Everything that has a beginning... ...has an end." You are the One, Harry.

Matrix4ever on Apr 22, 2009

looks much better than Order of the Phoenix...that movie was crap in comparison to the book. i hope they dont screw this one up.

lalafrog2003 on Apr 22, 2009

WOW!!! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!! And being unlike many other magically themed movies it is NOT!!! The special effects look STUNNING!!! YEAH, CAN'T WAIT, CAN'T WAIT, I'M SOOO EXCITED TO SEE IT!!

athena on May 1, 2009

I meant no other magically themed movie can compare to Harry Potters' magical prowess and adventures...I like how they look so dark and gritty...

athena on May 1, 2009

SWEET!! The special effects are mind blowing! Can't wait to see this film on the big screen. I think this is going to be the best Harry Potter movie ever.

can someone please tell me the song that starts at 1:31

nadiuska on Jun 9, 2009

nadiuska>, I think that song is either "With An Iron Fist" by Immediate Music or "Imminent Domination" by X-Ray Dog. They are both amazing pieces. Check out this site, it lists all the songs in Half-Blood Prince trailers:

#42, you realize Harry looked into Snape's mind in the book right? i'm sure Voldemort probably did break into his mind. besides, he was teaching Harry to keep people out and didn't expect him to do what he did, so he wouldn't have had his guard up to keep Harry out, so it's very believable, for a fiction.

Tucker on Jun 14, 2009

To be honest as a fan (but not hard-core) I am surprised by the PG rating. I could have sworn the trailer alone was PG-13 elements in the least. Humor of course helps, but the 6th only had a decent amount, not allot. Also it's supposed to be the darkest except for the 7th, and the 4th and 5th were PG-13. I wonder what it takes for a PG movie to become PG-13? Honestly. Watching or owniing either way. Win-win. Good is better then what it could have been.

Eclipse on Jun 16, 2009

I can not wait for this film! Hopefully it will live up to JK Rowlings book.

This is going to be the film of 2009!

Virtual Office in Edinburgh on Jun 19, 2009

56, actually Harry looked into the pensieve to see Snape's memory. Not sure why they didn't follow this in the moviem but oh well...

me on Jun 22, 2009

60, yeah, you're right. i was referring to the movie. they messed up a lot in the 5th movie. it was good, and overall loyal, unlike the 3rd, but they left SO MUCH out. they left out parts that were neccessary for the 7th book. the mirror for example. that played a big part in the 7th book, but it wasn't in the 5th movie, so what are they going to do for the lazy people that don't read the books? they won't have a clue what's going on unless something is changed or it has to be explained then =( oh well, no movie ever matches up....

Tucker on Jun 26, 2009

I need to know what times this shows in Santan Village this Saturday.
