Second Awesome Clash of the Titans Trailer Leaks Out Early
by Alex Billington
December 13, 2009
I just received an email with this YouTube link to the second brand new Clash of the Titans trailer that's supposed to play in front of Avatar later this week. It's pretty much an extended version of the first teaser trailer, using that same rock song and lots of the same scenes. However, we also get more dialogue, more action, and an epic glimpse of the Kraken at the end. I still think this looks as awesome as it did in that first teaser. I'm really impressed by everything I've seen so far, it really looks like Louis Leterrier has made a kick ass action movie that'll live up to the original. Watch this quick, as it'll probably be pulled down very soon!
Watch the second trailer for Louis Leterrier's Clash of the Titans:
Trailer removed at the request of Warner Bros. It'll be out later this week, so stay tuned!
Follows Perseus and his quest to battle Medusa and the Kraken in order to save the Princess Andromeda.
Clash of the Titans is directed by French filmmaker Louis Leterrier, of Unleashed, Transporter 2, and The Incredible Hulk previously. The screenplay was originally written by Lawrence Kasdan (Raiders of the Lost Ark) then later revised by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi (both of Crazy/Beautiful, The Tuxedo, Aeon Flux). This is a remake of Desmond Davis' original 1981 classic movie of the same name. Warner Brothers will be bringing Clash of the Titans to regular and 3D theaters everywhere starting on April 2nd. Still excited?

"Damn the gods" is a far better tagline than "Titans will clash." Now the promotions are showing some effort.

Why do I get the feeling I've seen to much already. It looks like they're giving everything away, in the trailer, and leaving nothing for the movie. I hope I see some surprises in the theater.

I usually go,"Not another remake.....", but I have to say that this looks awesome all on it's own. I will definitely hit the theaters for this. I hope it lives up to the excitement in my head because I hate wasting money on crappy movies at the theater.

wow captain subtext you're obviously a little slow (in the head that is).... the music made that trailer..... you're an idiot
ClerksFan on Dec 13, 2009
58
Why - WHY!? - did they show the Kraken? What the hell kind of idiot screws their own movie by spoiling one of the better moments of the film by revealing something like that? They didn't show off much else aside from just quick cuts of the other monsters, you never see Medusa's face, but they spend the last ten seconds on a held shot of the Kraken roaring... What the fuck... They need to take movies like this out of the hands of the marketing people. I highly doubt any sane director would pull some shit like that.

The trailer is definitly badass and i cross my fingers and pray for this movie to be a sucess and i don't say that because the director is french and me tooo :p there's some incredible imagery in this movie and even if the original can be outpast in my heart this one seems to be heading for a homerun in term of badass! This is gonna be freakin hugeee! Can't wait :p

#58 This movie is meant to stir the cult classic following of the original. This may be one movie that is remade to bring the special effects to the level envisioned when first made. The actual story isn't revealed much so this trailer stirs the cult following and inspires others. The trailer did not mention Calibos the actual storyline of the movie. This trailer doesn't screw the movie.

Looks AWESOME and Holy Shit the KRAKEN scene is going to be EPIC. You know I still find it pretty funny that this movie only cost about 70mill to make and still puts the 180mill G.I Joe to shame. Just shows you don't need a huge budget to have impressive CGI.
wrongturn687 on Dec 13, 2009
66
I'm not convinced why everyone thinks this is going to be an awesome film?...it's a re-hash of the original which was awesome and an epic with amazing stop frame effects. Everything is so CG today and CG can look so bad at times that it looks too much and unbelievable. I will watch the film but I'm not holding my breath over it, it is going to have to convince me and if it does I'll eat my hat with baked beans

First of all good movie doesnt require big bugdet and big budget doesnt necessarily means a good movie. the dudes should learn to do better films with moderate budgets and stop giving out "three fig million dollar budget movie bla bla bla" lines...cause we want to view films that deliver if not more at least our moneys worth when we see them in theatres. i loved the original Clash of the Titans will see in again this week to prepare myself for the apparent visual effect show when i watch the new one. but this new edition shallnot cast a shadow on the original.. cause come on guys have done it 20+ (29 to be exact :P) years ago and done it perfectly... i hate when everything is done in CG it loses that relatiable aspect, that believability when done all in CG take An American Werewolf in London it has the perfect transformation and it looks genuine. why they dont work on that??? take District 9 more recent example. they could have done every effect CG but the director has made a choice to correct the Props with cg. and imo he has given a very and succesfull decision. i believe Clash of the Titan is gonna be a very good two hour watch. it has a very powerfull predecessor to better but from what i have seen it may be just as good...it has a solid cast nice visuals lets see if all could merge and complete the story 😀 PS: i agree with the most of you on regard to the Kraken issue.. i understand they want to attract more viewers to the saloons but it sure would have made a stronger influence when heard from a friend "holy shit man, you should have seen the Kraken!!! wow" this would attract even more..just show some part, just a tiny bit so that we cannot make out its size, we get caught unprepared for the full massive assault on the big screen... so lets wait a bit more 😀
