MTV just aired their second episode of a really bad TV show called "Spoilers" recently which literally does just as the title says - it spoils movies in an attempt to make fans even more excited. This episode featured all kinds of shenanigans, none of which was really that exciting or worth mentioning, because who wants to watch poorly edited MTV-style featurettes that lack a single second of new footage. Oddly enough, the best clip was from Land of the Lost, which featured Rick Marshall, played by Will Ferrell, singing a song with his banjo in the jungle. On his latest expedition, Dr. Rick Marshall is sucked into a space-time vortex alongside his research assistant and a redneck survivalist. In this alternate universe, the trio make friends with a primate named Chaka, their only ally in a world full of dinosaurs and other fantastic creatures. Can they all make it back to our world alive, and if so: Will Dr. Marshall can go from zero to hero with his discoveries?
Land of the Lost is directed by Brad Silberling, of Casper, City of Angels, Moonlight Mile, Lemony Snicket, and 10 Items or Less previously. "Saturday Night Live" writer Dennis McNicholas and "Entourage" writer Chris Henchy together wrote the screenplay for the film, which is a remake of a 1970's TV show of the same name. Universal's Land of the Lost hits theaters everywhere this summer on June 5th.

I'm disappointed that it's going to be a comedy. I'd much prefer to see a mature take on the Land of the Lost concept. I love the old TV show for it's sci-fi underpinnings and melodrama, not the goofiness that occasionally crept in.
