Two Upcoming Projects for Will Ferrell and Matt Damon

Will Ferrell and Matt Damon

Sorry, that headline is a bit deceiving - no, Will Ferrell and Matt Damon are not going to be starring in the same movie, but Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg will be! An interesting article hit Variety today that outlined two separate projects, one from Will Ferrell and one from Matt Damon, that are looking to get picked up be studios and greenlit for release in 2010. Ferrell's project is an action comedy called B Team to be directed by Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladega Nights, Step Brothers). Damon's project is a contemporary sci-fi love story called The Adjustment Bureau based on a Philip K. Dick short story.

The Adjustment Bureau is being written by George Nolfi, of Ocean's Twelve, The Sentinel, and The Bourne Ultimatum. The project is loosely based on an unspecified Philip K. Dick short story (anyone have idea which one?) and will also be Nolfi's directing debut. B Team will star Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg as cops, with a script being written by Chris Henchy, who co-wrote Land of the Lost and is an executive producer and writer for "Entourage". Both projects should be picked up by studios by the end of the week, so stay tuned for more information once it arrives. Which of these sounds more exciting to you?

Sounds like an adaptation of Dick's short-story "Adjustment Team".

Neither sound particarly interesting. Will and Mark is an odd duo and neither have had a solid track record as of lately. Damon's project doesn't get me too excited...yet.

As a non-American, I don't get Will Ferrel movies. Matt Damon, I'll get excited only once I see the movie, as his are not those "anticipated" movies, except the franchise that he was/is in.

@3 woah.. down boy. good to hear your opinion but could do with less all CAPS and ! marks Good to see Will do another movie that doesn't involve a sport of time kind. I'm a sucker for both comedy and Sci-fi. But I'm going to have to side with the latter on this one.

If it is adjustment team, its pretty much been done already. Dark City is basically the same thing. Reality being some manufactured thing by other people. Thats not to say that it cant be good. But its nice to see whenever a PKD inspired movie comes up and they give the credit to him. So many sci fi writers take his short stories and adapt them to movies or novels, and then give no credit at all.
