WORTH WATCHING
Universal's Fast and Furious Super Bowl TV Spot
by Alex Billington
January 31, 2009
Given we've already seen two full trailers, there's not much new footage we're going to see in this Fast & Furious Super Bowl TV spot. Plus they're still using the film's biggest selling points - women, cars, and Vin Diesel / Paul Walker. So that you can get this one out of the way, we've also got the new TV spot for Fast & Furious early. There's not much more to say, so fire this one up if you're excited to check it out. Despite my own lack of interest in this TV spot, I'm still going to see Fast & Furious once it hits theaters.
Watch the full Fast & Furious Super Bowl TV spot:
Fast & Furious is directed by up-and-coming Taiwanese filmmaker Justin Lin, of Better Luck Tomorrow, Annapolis, and of course, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. The screenplay was written by Chris Morgan, of Cellular, Tokyo Drift, and Wanted. Fast and Furious races into theaters on April 3rd.

This was like a combo of the two trailers....put together quite nicely I might add. Took the best parts of both (including the song from the first) and put them into a slick 30 second spot. They're really doing a nice job of marketing this. They've got to keep the cheesy aspects of this film hidden and keep the focus on the cars, and the stars because the girls and the cars will sell the guys, and Walker and Vin Diesel will sell the girls. If they can avoid disasters like that 2nd trailer this film will do well.

I always like these trailers except for the tumbling trailer thing at the end, this isn't like Indiana Jones we don't need something giant and tumbling coming at you from like 1/2 mile away not even losing momentum

Has anyone thought that since they have brought back all the original characters in the same bad ass car Vin was driving in the first one - that they aren't just shitting on the 2nd and 3rd? I mean the third one didn't even have Walker!! but a cameo from Diesel....stupidness. That tanker scene is retarded - is this supposed to be a Michael Bay rip off or something?

#15: It's a Chevelle SS in the new one, NOT the Charger from the first. I don't see the 'shitting on' either. The fourth catches up with the characters after the events of the 2nd and third (the third really has nothing to do with these characters anyway. And who says the driver from the third doesn't put in a a respectful cameo?). I don't have a problem with the bouncing tanker, either. It's an action flick (all of which, including everything about all the fanboy favorites, are preposterous).

@ # 18 we are rockstars - does it offend you yeah Anyway, this trailer was good. Nothing much different from the last one. The last scene with the tumbling trailer still kinda kills it. Looks like shit.

Good...at least they left out the Mtv-esque chattering of the other movies that was really annoying, if you know what I mean

still looking like paul can't act... but i'm not gonna let him ruin the rest of the movie for me. there's still everyone else in the cast to make up for it. Jordana Brewster, especially. and hell, even the fast cars.
