Woody Allen's New Film Titled 'You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger'

Woody Allen

It's not often that movie titles make headline news, it's something that only people like Woody Allen and Michael Bay can actually pull off. And here's an example - THR reports today that the title of Woody Allen's new London-set film is You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger. The film stars Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts, and Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto, seen above shooting a scene for this in the rain in London (via Zimbio). You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger revolves around different members of a family, their tangled love lives and their attempts to try to solve their problems.

After seeing multiple times and enjoying Whatever Works earlier this year, I'm actually getting into Woody Allen again, and I've been looking forward to this mainly for the cast (give or take Naomi Watts). While I know that a lot of people have been saying that Freida Pinto may not be all that she's cracked up to be (since Slumdog Millionaire was her first role ever), I still think she'll show us that she's actually a great actress, at least in the right roles (and this may be one of them). That and also that I love London and always enjoy Woody Allen showing us how twisted love can be. This is currently in post and will hit theaters next year!

The day will come, probably sooner than later, that Woody Allen will no longer make one movie per year and that will be a sad day indeed. I also enjoyed Whatever Works and found it akin to one of his awfully underrated comedies, Anything Else. Both are bitter takes on life and love and how we humans flounder around in search and meaning and quite often come up empty. But hey, you know, it's like 'anything else.' 'Whatever works,' right?

Er, "in search OF meaning," that is.

I'M EXCITED FOR THIS mostly because I'm curious to see Freida Pinto in one of his movies

What's wrong with Naomi Watts?

#5 - I don't know, she's just one of those actors that thinks she's all that and gets cast in this big roles where she's supposed to be great and never really stands out. Almost all of her last few movies (The International, Eastern Promises, The Painted Veil) I didn't really like, not necessarily because of her, but she didn't do much to help either. I guess I've just kind of lost interest in her...
