Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

Good news! After a rumor hit last week that a sequel to Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was in the works, io9 has confirmed that it's already in production. However, they also report that directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller won't be back to direct, but will be staying on creatively and helping write the story. As was unveiled last week, the title will be Pickles to Pittsburgh which comes from the second children's book in Ron and Judi Barrett's series. There is no other confirmation about actors or anything else, but at least it's currently in development. I loved Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and I'm very excited for this sequel.

From Amazon: "In Pickles to Pittsburgh, the Barretts' sequel to the delightfully funny, bestselling Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, we check back in with Kate and Henry as they eagerly await Grandpa's return from an unusual vacation. Kate dreams about a postcard Grandpa has sent, and the story begins." I can't wait for this, I'm excited to return to the Cloudy world again. Of course, it would be better if they could've brought Phil and Chris back to direct, but I understand they've moved on to 21 Jump Street. If you haven't seen Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, be sure to check it out as soon as you can, it is vastly underrated!

Such a shame they couldn't get the original directors, but at least they're involved in the script. Looking forward to this.

Boo! How is this good news? I finally got to see this with Netflix and I hated the movie. Sequel? bleh!

Hmm, while I DID like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, I didn't think it screamed "sequel". I know you said it's based on the book's sequel, but we all know that these films are nothing like the books and are just adaptations in name only anyway. So I don't know what validity that really merits them making a film sequel.

woot! Such a great movie! #3 I'm sorry you didn't like it. What kind of animated films do you enjoy?

theres no reason for this to be turned into a sequel. if they original guys arent involved theres literally no draw. which sucks. shrek all over again

Out of all the Animated Films that have came out the past decade I wish Pixar would do The Incredibles 2. Or a Fro zone spinoff. Come on Pixar.
