Another New Trailer for Anthony Hopkins Exorcist Flick 'The Rite'

"Choosing not to believe in the devil won't protect you from him." Another intense new trailer for Mikael Hafstrom's chilling exorcism thriller The Rite starring Anthony Hopkins and Colin O'Donoghue has debuted on Empire. The first trailer for this was actually quite impressive, and this second one isn't too bad either. They don't have to hold back on the creepy imagery this time. It starts from the ground up explaining the plot (showing us way too much of the story than necessary) and we get a good look at Toby Jones, Ciarán Hinds, Rutger Hauer and Alice Braga as well. One thing's for sure - this is going to be frightening to watch.

Inspired by true events, follows a skeptical seminary student Michael (Colin O'Donoghue) who reluctantly attends an exorcism school at the Vatican. While there, he meets an unorthodox priest, Father Lucas, who introduces him to a darker side of his faith. Also with Ciarán Hinds, Alice Braga, Rutger Hauer, Toby Jones.
The Rite is directed by veteran Swedish filmmaker Mikael Hafstrom, of Evil, Drowning Ghost, Derailed and 1408 previously. The script was written by Michael Petroni, of Queen of the Damned, The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys and Possession previously. Warner Bros will be bringing The Rite to theaters January 28th.

O.O rather creepy. no doubt will give those who aren't religious ammo for later insults to those who do put faith in religion.

cant go wrong with ol' tony hopkins. i dont usually like these types of movies but that looked pretty decent. it had a real eerie vibe to it , a bit like the shining did. mmmmm bbq ribs.

really good cast, and a well put together trailer at the start. the story's been done many times before, but it looks like it's been done in a way that is worth a watch, and a potentially enjoyably jumpy one at that. and Rutger and Tony in the same film? got to be one to see based solely on that! but dammit! 1:40 of that trailer was all they needed. should have taken out everything after that - i mean, you can hazard a good guess at most of the third act from this trailer. what's the point of that?

Oh yeah. What is with the adverts before the advert these days? I want to watch an advertisement for a film and before that I have to be shown a sales pitch for a widescreen television?
