Another Awesome New International Trailer for 'Clash of the Titans' (2010)

Damn the gods… again! IGN has debuted a new full-length international trailer for Clash of the Titans that mixes some elements of the original teaser and theatrical trailer as well as some new scenes involving Zeus (Liam Neeson) and Hades (Ralph Fiennes). I have to say, I still think this looks awesome and I can't wait to see it, but we're nearing the point where I just don't want to see any more new footage before seeing the actual movie itself. Don't forget that Warner Bros may still be converting this to 3D by April. Maybe it's just because I'm a big fan of the original Clash of the Titans, but I think this looks totally badass. Dive in.
Watch the international trailer for Louis Leterrier's Clash of the Titans from YouTube:
Follows Perseus and his quest to battle Medusa and the Kraken in order to save the Princess Andromeda.
Clash of the Titans is directed by French filmmaker Louis Leterrier, of Unleashed, Transporter 2, and The Incredible Hulk previously. The screenplay was originally written by Lawrence Kasdan (Raiders of the Lost Ark) then later revised by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi (both of Crazy/Beautiful, The Tuxedo, Aeon Flux). This is a remake of Desmond Davis' original 1981 classic movie of the same name. Warner Brothers will be bringing Clash of the Titans to regular and 3D theaters everywhere starting on April 2nd. Still excited?

Yeah, heavy metal is exactly what I think about when I see "Clash of the Titans." That shit really takes away from the trailer.

WTF are you talking about the metal music makes this trailer memorable orchestra music in this trailer would be weak and boring

The metal beat dosen't bother, and the fact that the trailer editor is adamant on using the song in all the trailers is cool, I'll be seeing this opening day, in good ole 2-D!

I agree that the music keeps your interest. I am old supporter of the harmonics etc of the olden years...but that's just it!, it was the olden years.......there weren't this type of heavy metal from 1981 when the original came out. Some would argue that Black Sabbath, Lez Zeppelin and these guys were around.....but to not this heavy, grinding extent. Liam is surely keeping busy since his wife's tragic accident last year! I love the guy....pretty cool....hopefully he helps pulls off this and the A-Team..... Whaddaya say Xerxex?

I can't believe they gave away the big money shot away in the trailer. They should have left the Krakken out of it.

#5 Believe me - the Krakken is expected in Clash of the Titans - But there is a another SURPRISE in store during the film. Xerxex, do you know what I speak about? Have you seen the script by chance?

at first when i heard him say release the krakkon, i thought he said release the crackhead... whoops!

I disagree with anyone who thinks the music takes away from the trailer. I don't care much for "the used", but the music is great for these trailers.

I know not of what you speak, Dan the Man, I've only seen excerpts from the first draft which were pretty good, and as far as script reading goes currently I'm reading "Your Highness" and "The International" but if you know where to find the full script legally then by all means do tell.

A. That's no where near heavy metal and B. I agree orchestral music would make the movie seem uninteresting

I heard from a credible source the script sux .. or at best severly lacks to be a credible remake of the original. Maybe the movie will still be good, but be warned.

uh... the IGN website totally hijacks the page when the trailer is done playing. Did for me, at least. @chris - there's no such thing as metal anymore. I've not read the script, but I've not really been looking. I kinda watched the first one about ten billion times. Reading the script would probably just ruin whatever few surprises they might have cooked up. I was pretty distraught by the krakkon reveal as well, but they're hyping that thing up so much, maybe there actually IS some surprise in store for the flick... Or maybe that's not actually the Krakkon...?

I share your excitement Alex, and therefore will NOT watch this trailer!! hahaha This has been a childhood classic for me so I'm more than willing to avoid anymore trailers to spoil the fun! Do you guys mention they were pushing this to IMAX?

This movie is going to kick all the other movies asses rigt out of the theaters, that will be in the theaters at the same time that this movie will be in theaters, just simply because it could become the beginning of a movie franchise like pirates of the caribbean movies!. Also, it will make a unimaginable amount of money in the box office!.

Looks impressive and I am starting to become a fan of Sam Worthington, but his accent in films is starting to irritate me... I wish he would show some more range.

Looks fantastic. SOUNDS (heavy metal) terrible. the last fantasy movie that I remember using heavy metal was Kull the Conqueror. It was a terrible movie by itself, but the soundtrack made it even worse. I hope they know better

The music is the biggest problem with the trailer, hopefully it has no relation to the actual movie...and I was also unaware that there is only two types of music (heavy metal & orchestral)?
klausey on Feb 2, 2010
32
My God....the tracks behind the trailer are ment to reach a certain demographic- ( which was not born when the orginal was released or just wee children)....and it is well done with the edit factor, and must I remind you about the "Twi'lite" factor-this plays into the promotion-which in fact if a classical piece was chosen.....( wtf is orchestral??!!) the demographic would yawn with distain and shy away from the film. Personally.....I thought the strk was a good choice, and it is obviously not in the final score. The Krakken footage was too much....and still looks like Cloverfield's Mum.

At first I was a bit skeptical towards Neeson, but now I see how perfect he is for his role. I also noticed they changed something about the music, it sounds a bit different then before. I still hate the tagline 'Damn the Gods', I prefer 'Titans will Clash'.

I like idea of bringing the old to new look better then what I remember as a child in fact it makes me feel like I am young all over again......can't wait for the release.

Yeah looks good. So are Americans so stupid that as soon as they think ancient Greece/Rome they immediately think British accent. Are the film makers figuring that a British accent should sound foreign enough for American viewers? I get so tired of British accents being the go-to accent for all ancient times.

Is it me - or the "Kraken" looks like the same creature from Cloverfield - maybe a la #17 - maybe its not even the Kraken!
Dan the Man on Feb 2, 2010
37
SacLA face it if a movie based in the past is filled with Amercian accents people will complain, an English accent just seems right.
Xerxex on Feb 2, 2010
38
Xerxex, I suppose. I just really like how they addressed it in Hunt for Red October. It was a cool way to have a movie mainly set in Russian without having to subtitles. It wouldn't be that difficult at at least the producers/writers/directors/whoever is responsible for that decision showed they put some thought into it. But I do agree, better than American accents. Shit could you imagine somebody with a heavy southern or Boston or Brooklyn accent doing Clash of the Titans?

Worthington was crap in Avatar, though I did love it. Stephen Lang dumped all over him, but then, he is a real actor. Worthington bores me, but I will see this as I liked the 1981 version which had Burgess Meredith in it, and he was a real actor too.

Can't wait to see it! Louis Leterrier confessed on being a huge fan of the 1981 original movie, also Liam Neeson decided to take a role on this film because of his sons, since they are fans of Greek mythology. Some scenes were shot in Dinorwic Slate Quarry, in Wales, where other fantasy movies like "Willow" have also been filmed.

Burgess Meredith rocked!!! I remember his as the Penguin in original Batman and Mick the boxing trainer in a couple of the Rocky movies as about a thousand black and white movies and TV shows. yes, I am old enough to remember that far back.

As long as this doesn't have a stupid gold clockwork owl in it I'm sold, the original is far too dated now Mr Meredith penguin or no penguin, the music to the trailer was unusual but to be honest it was droned out with some cool visuals, like it,will see this for sure.

The trailers looks good, but what's up with the giant scorpions.. looks cheap.... I hope the movie will be good to watch...
anzelm on Mar 2, 2010
49
Yeah, the scorpion is cheap but it's more believable than Worthington - I mean the guy is a shrimp and they should have gotten a more manly man, like Tom Hardy or Steve Innes or Karl Urban and these guys are either Aussie, Brit or Kiwi - why do we not have any really physically imposing male AMERICAN actors here in LA anymore? Casting Worthington in this, or any other film really is akin to casting the Jonas bothers in DeNiro's role in Taxi Driver

I have really high expectations for this movie. This was one of my favorite movies growing up. They've got some big shoes to fill. I'm thinking that with today's technology they can knock the ball out of the park on this one.

High tech or not, Worthington's acting is what drags this movie down. They should have brought the robot owl back in, then Worthingless would have some serious competition.
