Trollhunter Teaser Trailer

Another bonus indie trailer to help you start your Monday morning with a smile. This originally comes from Twitch (via io9) and is a rather amusing teaser trailer for an upcoming Norwegian mockumentary. It's called Trollhunter, or Trolljegeren, and is basically about a group of students trying to uncover the government conspiracy of giant trolls living in Norway. As incredibly awesome as that photo is above, that's just a promo shot (high res here), it's not actually in this teaser. As far as I could tell, no actual trolls show up in this, but I love their enthusiasm and the "goofiness" of the whole video is spot on. I can't wait to see more from this.

Watch the very first teaser trailer for André Ovredal's Trollhunter from YouTube:

There aren't many details available for this film yet, but apparently it's from the producers of the Norwegian WWII epic Max Manus and is being directed by someone named André Ovredal. As Twitch explains: "The picture is a tongue-in-cheek moc-doc that proposes that the Norwegian government has been hiding the fact that they have a secret population of trolls - real, actual trolls - living on game preserves in the far north of the country, kept safe and secure and out of the public eye to prevent mass panic should people realize that these fairy tale creatures are real." Apparently Trolljegeren hits theaters in Norway this October, but we're not sure when it will be coming to the US. We'll definitely keep you updated on whatever we hear about this!

If it is an Internet Troll, they are doomed.

Running around in a forest and cameras practically up the nostrils is so 1999.

I wanted to see that header image in the trailer...

Spider94 on Aug 30, 2010

Xerxex on Aug 30, 2010

why not just make an actual documentary about finntroll

Janny on Aug 30, 2010

District 9 was clearly a hit there too

gshauger on Aug 30, 2010

What? The Troll in the promo pic is effin' huge. I thought they dwelled under bridges? Like old stone bridges or wooden ones. That one would need the Macinac bridge or something. I bet that you'll watch the whole movie waiting to see that Troll and then they give you a glimpse of it then it's over. Nope the trailer doesn't do it for me.

arjones on Aug 30, 2010

Is the promo pic relevant to the movie? Because the trailer was far less interesting than that image is.

Craig on Aug 30, 2010

I wanted to see the header above there... T_T

Shaz on Aug 31, 2010

The Blair Troll Project? Of course there are trolls living in Norway, but there are more in Iceland, everyone knows that! arjones is right, trolls should fit snugly under old bridges, not tower above the skyline. Anyway, there is another troll movie due out - the Moomins are getting a feature length release soon!

Kevin on Aug 31, 2010

Kevin, Trolls are part of Scandinavian folklore, they're huge creatures much larger than humans. Of course we have elves and dwarfs as well if you fancy something smaller. Iceland was a Norwegian colony, that is to say the island was empty and was settled by Norwegian Vikings. Norway is the larger country... so naturally there are more Trolls here! 🙂 Norway is actually substantially larger than the UK...

I just saw this movie, and i promise you, it will be trolls 😀 Haha it really is funny, and scary. Good humor, and trolls, oh yeas. When i saw the trailer, i think it sucked, but after seeing it. Oh yea

One must have an understanding of Norwegian humor to really appreciate this stuff. it's like Brittish humor ,only colder. Ja vell, Linnea
