Summit really likes Bruce Willis. Not only is he helping sell their comic book movie RED later this year, but now Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver are "in talks" to star in an upcoming thriller called The Cold Light of Day for Summit Ent. (via Deadline). The film is next for JCVD director Mabrouk El Mechri, who already cast Henry Cavill to play a young American whose family is kidnapped on vacation in Spain. He has hours to find them, and unravels a government conspiracy. Willis will play his father, who has secrets of his own. Weaver is in talks to play the villainess, a role that was originally written for a male actor. Interesting.
We first wrote about this project back in March when El Mechri got attached. Shooting begins in September in Spain with Summit and Intrepid Pictures financing the production. They must really like the concept and El Mechri's vision for this, as giving him the funding and support to cast two big names like Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver is a sign that this is a film they're very excited to get behind (which is good). The concept sounds interesting, I just hope there's something more to it (that isn't cheesy) that will take it beyond just a flipped version of Taken. We'll keep you updated on all the latest on it! Anyone looking forward to this?

This may give Bruce Willis a chance not to play the same old dude he always does. Weaver is always fun to watch.
