A couple of new casting updates to point out today. First, Showbiz411 reports that Josh Brolin is currently eying the lead role opposite Charlize Theron in Jason Reitman's new movie Young Adult, about a divorced ghostwriter of young adult novels (Theron) who returns to her midwest hometown and reconnects with her old flame who's now married with kids. Reitman recently tweeted: "See you guys. Off to make a movie." So it looks like production is starting very soon on that project. However, Brolin ins't actually signed, so we're not really sure if he's fully on-board yet. A bit more casting news involving Jeffrey Dean Morgan found ahead!
Deadline also reports that actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan has "committed" to star in The Courier, an action film directed by Paradise Now helmer Hany Abu-Assad. Production starts next month in New Orleans. The Courier, written by Derek Haas & Michael Brandt (3:10 to Yuma, Wanted), sees Morgan playing a courier (a shocker!) who has taken on improbable missions and never missed a drop. He's hired to deliver a briefcase to a notorious underworld figure that can't be found (of course). He finds himself pursued by corrupt cops, double-crossing feds and rival crime bosses. So Crank meets Transporter? I hope it's better than it sounds.
